The 2015 Acadia Elections was the third election of the Republic of Acadia in history, and took place on January 10, 2016. In this election, conservative Member of Parliament Brant Esser won against his opponent liberal Member of Parliament Amund Johansen by a landslide, with Esser winning 65% of the vote while Johansen won only 34% of the vote. The election also elected new members of Parliament, since Parliament has an election at the same time as the presidential election.

History[edit]
Acadia was predominantly conservative, but as the population started to grow older and shrink, the government attempted to repopulate the country through immigration. This led to a massive influx of new people from all over Antarctica, who brought new ideas. The younger populations eventually caught on to this, and the Liberal Party was able to gain a significant amount of seats in Parliament after the 2010 election. Though the Conservative Party hadn't managed to get a hold of the Presidential Mansion yet, many liberals felt this election, they would.
In early 2014, liberal Member of Parliament Amund Johansen announced his bid for the Presidential Mansion. Though the Liberal Party was never a threat to the Conservative held government for years, his sudden rise got conservatives worried for the first time. However, mere days later, conservative Member of Parliament Brant Esser also announced his bid for president. Brant Esser was a veteran of the Colonial Antarctica War, and a popular Member of Parliament, well liked among conservatives and neutrals alike.
Conservative Party[edit]
Seven candidates initially announced their run for the Presidency, with Senator Robert Forman being the first to announce, on May 15, 2014, followed by former Treasurer Ethan Smith, Senator Brant Esser, Secretary of State Brian Miller, Mayor Jake Matuk, and Senator Ryan Crosby.
