A-Hub, formerly known as Project Lemon is the robotic "penguin" captain serving in Chub 667X's Army.

Background[edit]

Project Lemon[edit]

Originally, A-Hub was constructed by Matthias Adelie in 2000. Back then, A-Hub was not A-Hub at all but instead a computer. The computer A-Hub was a spherical metal shell with four prongs protruding from it. It was supposed to be a prototype for an artificial intelligent computer. Matthias was hired by TEWT, the large weapons manufacturer to build this prototype. The prototype was nicknamed Project Lemon.

In 2001, the robot was complete. Programers began to program an AI, complete with face and voice recognition. During programing however, Project Lemon began to overload with information; its internal cooling systems began to overheat. This in turn melted the silicon chips inside it. Project Lemon then exploded in a shower of sparks. TEWT, did not ask Matthias to build another robot, so he left the job and the robot was placed into storage.

In late 2002, the mangled mess of a robot was retrieved from storage and repaired. The former Project Lemon was attached to a simple, lens cleaning machine and put to work. Surprisingly, the robot functioned really well. So, for years, the "intelligent" Project Lemon robot worked in a factory cleaning glasses. It was one of the many robots at an assembly line at the TEWT factory in Dorkugal.

Many years of service later, the Project Lemon robot malfunctioned and broke down. It would've been to costly to call in its inventor to repair it, so it was decided to dispose of it. To make sure that no one would steal the top-secret, "highly-advanced" technology, it was tossed aside to the SKIP, near Club Penguin.

As a Captain[edit]

After Chub 667X's defeat in the Club Penguin Super Villain Crisis, he found the robot parts at the SKIP, what TEWT didn't want to happen. He stole bought it and some cables, computers and other materials. Setting off to his lair at Pingko, Chub set out to building the robot. Since there were no blueprints of the robot to be found, the end result was a mish-mash of original robot parts, tubing and CRT-monitors. Eventually, the robot was finished and painted, so it would not look old and battered. Chub 667X originally named the robot Adelie-Chub, or A-Chub for short. However, as Chub was programing the robot, Ditto got into the computer, making malfunction and in turn naming the robot A-Hub instead.

Involvement[edit]

A-Hub's purpose is the help Chub 667X lead his army. It also serves alongside him on the front lines. It's on board computer can calculate literally millions of battle strategies and scenarios and so it is able to lead more efficiently than any other penguin.

Due to its built in accessories, A-Hub also makes a really good soldier on the battlefield. On board computers can target a maximum of 100 penguins at once and shoot them all while planning the nearest route to the destination and an escape route just in case. The robot can also traverse a wide range of environments including mud, rocks, water and even vertical walls. A-Hub has detachable limbs. This allows them to be used by someone else in case A-Hub stops working. Its hands contain launchers and guns and its legs contain magnetic feet and tracks.

However, there are several weaknesses of A-Hub. If the robot runs out of power, for instance, it stops working. Rust and lack of maintenance can cause some systems to get damaged. Sand and dirt may get into it's joints and disable the arm and leg systems. Due to this it is advised to avoid battle on beaches and soil. A-Hub's sensor system can be disabled by using pie. This is its ultimate weakness and without it's sensor system, A-Hub is as useless as a pie plate.

Accessories[edit]

  • Jetpack
    • A small jetpack system (that runs on Ditto) complete with parachutes. It is powered by Ditto and looks like this
  • Fruit Blaster
    • Built in it's hands are holes that shoot out fruit.
  • Magnetic Feet
    • A-Hub's feet can be made magnetic by twisting a knob on it's main control panel. This allows it to scale metal walls with ease. However, jetpacks may have to be used for anything with an incline of >60°.
  • Underwater System
    • Used for diving underwater. Complete with retractable feet flippers and a propeller.
  • Drills
    • Inside it's hands there are concealed drills.
  • Satellite Dish
    • Used to scan the area or contact someone.
  • Night Vision
    • A-Hub's vision cameras have a night vision feature.
  • Grappling Hook
    • If the jetpack wasn't enough, A-Hub could use it's grappling hook in its left wrist to attach to things, pull things or swing on them.
  • Sword
    • Located in its right wrist are two hidden swords, which can be used in battles, but cannot block things such as ice bullets.

Trivia[edit]

  • A-Hub's primary way to move is by using it's jetpack.
    • It rarely uses it's feet to move.
  • In 2012, A-Hub was upgraded to use a Porcyal crystal as a source of power.
