The Acadia International Airport (ACAO Code: AIA) is an international airport in Acadia. It is the largest and only international airport in the country. It is one of the largest airports in the Antarctic Peninsula.

History[edit]

In 1978, the Puffish government decided to build an airport in Acadia so that Acadian citizens didn't need to travel to the nearest airport, Shiverpool, which was 10 miles away. Construction started that same year and cost 1 million Acadian Dollars, which equals to 10 million Fish in today's money. In 1980, the airport opened to the public.

In 1999, service was halted at the airport and it was turned into an air force base for the Acadian Freedom Fighters. After the war, it was turned back to an international airport and had extensive renovations. It was renamed the Greg Cleanington Airport, after Acadia's founder. To this day, the airport continues to carry many passengers and is one of the busiest in Antarctica.
