Amery Island International Airport (ACAO:AYI, AATA:AAYI) is a major domestic airport serving the City of Larsen and Amery Island. The airport possesses two runways, a nine-gate modern terminal and a military hangar located across from the terminal. The airport services both general aviation and commercial aviation on the island and is noted as the only airport on the island.
Amery Island International Airport is located 17 kilometers northwest of the city, adjacent to Polaris Highway 745, the arterial route if the island. The airport was first constructed in 1993 by an Antarctic government grant and is still in use today. Seven airlines continue to provide service, mainly from SPC, Club Penguin and to major cities in the Polaris SAD. The airport was diligently renovated in 2008, and now includes a 9-gate terminal, with an overflow terminal with three gates at the opposite end of the runway
