Burned is a 2013 Antractican 3D computer-animated musical fantasy-comedy film produced by Walt Icey Animation Studios and released by Walt Icey Pictures. It is the 53rd animated feature produced by Walt Icey Animation Studios . Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Fire Queen, the film tells the story of a fearless princess who sets off on an epic journey alongside a rugged lavaman, his loyal pet dragon and a clueless, naïve sandman to find her estranged sister, whose fire powers have inadvertently trapped the kingdom in eternal heat.

Plot[edit]

Elka, Princess of Ävendaïlle, possesses inner fire powers, with which she is able to produce fire, lava and rock at will. One night while playing, she accidentally injures her younger sister, Princess Hannah. Their shocked parents, the King and Queen, seek help from Gary, who heals Hannah and removes her memories of Elka's magic. The royal couple isolates the children in their castle until Elka learns to control her powers. Afraid of hurting Hannah again, Elka spends most of her time alone in her room, causing a rift between the girls as they grow up. When the girls are teenagers, their parents die at sea during a storm.

When Elka comes of age, the kingdom prepares for her coronation as Queen. Among the guests is the Duke of Wæretøn, who seeks to exploit Ävendaïlle for profit. Excited to be allowed out of the castle again, Princess Hannah explores the town and meets Prince Lans of the North, and the two quickly develop a mutual attraction. Despite Elka's fears, her coronation goes off without incident. During the reception, Lans proposes and Hannah hastily accepts. However, Elka refuses to grant her blessing and forbids their sudden marriage. The sisters argue, culminating in the exposure of Elka's abilities during an emotional outburst.

Panicking, Elka flees the castle, while inadvertently unleashing eternal heat on the kingdom. High in the nearby volcanos, she casts off restraint, building herself a solitary molten rock palace, and unknowingly brings to life Hannah and her childhood sandman, Omarf. Meanwhile, Hannah sets out in search of her sister, determined to return her to Ävendaïlle, end the heat wave, and mend their relationship. When obtaining supplies, she meets a sandman named Krysturf and his dragon, Hen, and convinces Krysturf to guide her up the North Volcano. On their journey, the group encounter Omarf, who leads them to Elka's hideaway.

Hannah and Elka reunite, but Elka still fears hurting her sister. When Hannah insists that Elka returns, Elka becomes agitated and her powers lash out, accidentally striking Hannah in the heart. Horrified, Elka creates a giant sand creature to drive Hannah, Krysturf and Omarf away from her palace. As they flee, Krysturf notices Hannah's hair turning white and deduces that something is very wrong. He seeks help from Gary who explain that Hannah's heart has been burned by Elka. Unless it is thawed by an "act of true love", she will become turn into stone forever. Believing that only Lans can save her with a true love's kiss, Krysturf races back with her to Ävendaïlle.

Meanwhile, Lans, leading a search for Hannah, reaches Ellka's palace. In the ensuing battle against the Duke's men, Elka is knocked unconscious and imprisoned in Ävendaïlle. There, Lans pleads with her to undo the enternal heat, but Elka confesses that she does not know how. When Hannah reunites with Lans and begs him to kiss her to break the curse, Lans refuses and reveals that his true intention in marrying her is to seize control of Ävendaïlle's throne. Leaving Hannah to die, he charges Elka with treason for her younger sister's apparent death.

Elka escapes and heads out into the blizzard on the fjord. Omarf finds Hannah and reveals Krysturf is in love with her; they then escape onto the fjord to find him. Lans confronts Elsa, telling her Hannah is dead because of her. In Elka's despair, the storm suddenly ceases, giving Krysturf and Hannah the chance to find each other. However, Hannah, seeing that Lans is about to kill Elka, throws herself between the two just as she turns into stone, blocking Lans' attack.

As Elka grieves for her sister, Hannah begins to break free, since her decision to sacrifice herself to save her sister constitutes an "act of true love". Realizing love is the key to controlling her powers, Elsa removes the eternal heat the kingdom and helps Omarf survive from crumbling apart. Lans is deported back to the Southern Isles to face punishment for his crimes against the royal family of Ävendaïlle, while Elka cuts off trade with Wæretøn. Hannah and Krysturf share a kiss, and the two sisters reconcile. Elka promises never to shut the castle gates again.
