The C-Pengaberg is Chub 777's private clipper sailing ship. Built using the massive Adelie Family fortune, the ship was made famous when it discovered Lowlaw Island. After a few more voyages to the island and around the seas, it was officially decommissioned and converted into a museum ship. It formerly resides in A-01 at Highlaw Island, which was sometimes sailed on by Chub during his spare time, despite being a museum ship. However, the ship was sunk during the events of Winter's Tide, and currently resides on the seabed in the Ninja Archipelago, broken into many pieces.


The idea of a personal ship was often thought of by Chub 777. Not only could he use the ship to relax and travel on, but he could also use it to sail far off into adventure. Chub also had an adventurous nature, so he turned the dream into a reality, using his family's large fortune. He began to look about for an old retired ship that he could purchase. He was not able to find anything available.

Since a ship could not be found, Chub decided to make his own ship. In early 2007, he laid out plans and concepts for his private ship, originally called the LightningBolt. The LightningBolt was to be a modern, state-of-the-art ship, that was powered by a massive engine, allowing it to reach high speeds. This design however became very expensive, especially due to the engine. The design was revamped again into another prototype, the Chub-Ship, which was much more slower and larger. This, too was rejected. Chub decided to go back to basics and to have a classical 18th century Puffish clipper ship. The name of it was to be the Chub-Penguin, which was later changed to the C-Pengaberg.

The first design of the C-Pengaberg went through many iterations, from having a diesel powered booster, to becoming a small flying helicopter-ship hybrid. However, Chub eventually settled on a plan, that directly copied the design of old ships, besides the modern interior. The ship was designed with speed in mind. In March 2008, construction on the ship began, and within a year, the entire ship was finished.

Maiden Voyage and Lowlaw Island[edit]

The majority of the ship was built by November. On November 27, the ship underwent the first of several test runs. Lasting over an hour, the first test made sure that the ship was working in top condition with all its systems. The next day, November 28, another test run was conducted, finalizing the ship's systems. The tests showed that the C-Pengaberg was in high condition, so its maiden voyage was moved from December 1, to November 29, just the day after.

On November 29 2008, the C-Pengaberg set off for its maiden voyage. The ship, with the captaincy of Chub 777, set off west of Highlaw Island, towards the Sub-Antarctic. Most of the trip was uneventful, with very few sightings of land and other points of interest. However, on June 18 2009, more than 6 months after the journey began, land was sighted. After consulting his charts, Chub discovered that the land was new and undiscovered. He named the new land he found Lowlaw Island, after Highlaw Island, and sailed up to it.

Chub sailed around the newly discovered island, mapping it out. Eventually, the ship landed on Lowlaw Island on June 24. A small handful of the crew volunteered to stay on the island and established a small colony, consisting of a cabin and a dock. After making more observations of the island, Chub and the remaining crew sailed back to Club Penguin with the help of the AiringJet Current (where the ship reached comically high speeds). The C-Pengaberg reached Club Penguin on July 28. Rockhopper, at the time, was docked at the Beach so the C-Pengaberg had to dock at the nearby Dock.

News of the discovery quickly spread around. The discovery made Chub, as well as his brother, famous. The two were even invited for a celebratory dinner with Rockhopper. The C-Pengaberg was then loaded up with more supplies, before going back on the seas.

Later Lowlaw Voyages[edit]

Several more voyages were made after the discovery of Lowlaw. Some of these trips delivered new supplies to the new colony, while others were more for relaxation. These voyages, called Leisure Trips, often had family members and friends of Chub 777 come aboard. After a few more voyages, the C-Pengaberg was officially decommissioned in 2011. Chub was quoted saying "the artifacts of adventure should always be treasured" and converted the ship into a museum ship. However, Chub sometimes uses it for small Leisure Trips, temporarily recommissioning it. The important artifacts and exhibits on the ship are also moved off to another nearby warehouse.

Final Voyage[edit]

During the events of Winter's Tide, Chub 777, Buhc 777 and the Hochstadt Gang went on a voyage aboard the C-Pengaberg. They were attempting to rescue who puffles, Duncan and Dan Beronews. The two were captured and placed into piracy by Cutlass, a former sailor who turned a pirate. After a brief meet up on a small island in the sea, Buhc and Clovis were captured by the pirates while Chub and his crew managed to steal a cannon from the pirate ship.

A while later, the two ships and their crews meet up together again and engage in a sea battle; two 19th century-era ships battling in the 21st century. The crew of the C-Pengaberg manage to rescue Buhc, Clovis and the two puffles. They try to escape, but are out gunned with their single cannon. The pirate ship manages to destroy and sink the C-Pengaberg, with the crew escaping just in time. The pirates, thinking that the crew had sunk with the ship, move on.

The Adelie brothers and the Hochstadt Gang are eventually rescued by the Ligurian Navy and make it back to land. Today, however, the fragmented wreck of the C-Pengaberg lies on the sea bed in the middle of the Ninja Archipelago. The exact location of the wreck is unknown so a salvage is impossible.

Scale and Features[edit]

The C-Pengaberg is a wooden clipper ship. This means that there are 2 masts and on them are 4 large main sails (2 on each mast). Between the two masts are 2 triangular sails (secondary sails). On the bow, there are 2 more sails (tertiary sails). This gives a total of 8 sails. The large amount makes the ship achieve a top speed of up to 25 knots, rivaling old steam ships. However, will a full load, top speed is reduced to around 22 knots. Above, on top of the two main masts are two separate Crow's Nests. At the front of the ship is a figurehead of a Viking Penguin, holding a sword and pointing forward.

Just like any other ship, there are lifeboats. These lifeboats also serve as a dinghy. 6 boats are present on deck (3 port-side and 3 starboard-side). In the hold, there are 2 other boats and 4 inflatable boats. The dinghy/lifeboat can fit 20 penguins and up to 10 kg of cargo. The inflatable boats can fit 7 penguins each and 5 kg of cargo. This makes for a total of 148 penguins and 80 kg of cargo; well above the usual 100 penguin crew.

The list of the original C-Pengaberg crew on its first Lowlaw Island voyage were lost, along with the ship's journal and several documents. However, the list has been managed to be restored a little, and is still being restored today. The current list is below:

  • The ship was formerly docked at 1 Pengaberg Street in Highlaw Island.
    • Next to the dock is an old warehouse that is used as a museum for the ship.
    • Museum pieces on the ship are transferred over to the museum when the ship goes for a journey.
  • There were about 10 tour guides running tours of the ship every hour from 9 AM to 7 PM weekdays.
  • Many used to consider the ship to be sailed internationally, around Antarctica, Asiapelago and the Ninja Archipelago, to showcase it.
  • The C-Pengaberg is thought to lie on an ocean ridge deep down in the middle of the Ninja Archipelago.
    • A salvage operation is said to cost more that the actual ship itself.
