Why a nuisance?[edit]

Sheepman, environmetalism IS a nuisance. In my country, environmentalism strangles our economy and kills jobs, hampering the progress of industrialization and productivity. Plus, three of five kids in Pennsylvania STILL have horrid lung diseases, and there's dirty water all the time.

Our federal-level EPA does little nothing to stop pollution. The federal Environmental Protection Agency needs to be gutted and dismantled. It has occasional regulatory capture burdens and hippies regularly sue various groups and individuals for trivial things, sometimes with its help.

Why, in Texas, the hippies are doing all they can to "protect" a stupid little lizard that just happens to live in the most prolific oil basin in the country. Remember, many hippies hate oil and will use any avenue to stop drilling. I bet my bottom dollar that they wouldn't care about that lizard if it wasn't in an oil zone. They want the lizard to be marked "endangered" so that they can stop oil drilling.

My opinion about that lizard is simple: let's hope it gets lucky and survives the drilling. I don't care about a lizard. I would probably care if it's a turtle, but it's just a lizard and it's in the way of progress. Let's keep drilling and run that sucker over, if not to create jobs, lower gas prices, give us more energy independence, and jumpstart the economy, than at least to tick off the stupid hippies. Stupid lizard. Stupid, stupid lizard.

The real way to protect the environment starts at home:
  • Turn off your lights and water when you're not using it.
  • Take the extra mile to sort and drop off your trash at one of the many county dumps that are so darn close to your house.
  • Use those swirly bulbs.
  • Don't turn on the air conditioner when you don't need it.
  • Shut the doors so the cold air doesn't get out.
  • Grow your own fruits and vegetables.
  • Don't litter.
  • When hunting, don't break the law and exceed the quota, nor shoot what doesn't need to be shot.
  • When fishing, throw it back.
  • Make sure your windows are closed.
  • Unplug stuff when you go on vacation.
  • Don't run the car when you go in to get something you forgot.
  • Don't run your car to "warm it up". You can take a little bit of chill in there.
  • Plant a tree in your backyard.
  • Don't water the lawn yourself, let God water it for you. (Yellow grass isn't that ugly.)
  • Drive a fuel efficient car.

Might I add, SANCHONACHOS, that members of my family- particularly my grandparents -do all of this. SHEEPMAN, do you do these things? If you want to save the planet, do it yourself. Don't make the government do things that are simple common sense.

Besides, the real protectors of the environment in government aren't those failures in the EPA. They're the Park Rangers that actually work, the Fish and Wildlife Servicemen that actually do stuff, the state-level regulators that actually go around and help the environment, and they aren't the idiots that mull over some manufactured charts and graphs and decide to punish industry for being successful with burdens like cap-and-gain or the Kyoto Protocol.

The general mentality in this country is to go green. Private companies that aren't gren enough to meet the demands of their customers will face the wrath of the free market. Companies are being pressured to be more environmentally responsible becuase that's what the people want, and what the people want, the companies must do. In economics, it's called the "Invisible Hand". The general will of the people guide this hand, which guides the free market. If enough people want it, capitalism will force it to be delivered, because companies that don't do it do go out of business.

The private sector is taking great lengths to be greener and friendlier to the environment. My family is trying to make their impact on the environment less. The individual states in the Union are doing their work. The federal government is failing miserably, and the UN is a total joke.

The biggest threat to going green are the environmentalists. You can't force someone to be responsible, they have to learn it. After BP, I think everyone's learning to pick up their trash.

Face it. Going green is the way to go, and heck, it's common sense! The stereotype that conservatives drives Hummer H-3s and throw all their garbage in the bay? Thats not true! Rightists are just as capable as leftists of doing their part to help the environment. The difference is that rightists don't force others under their "green" agenda, like the goons in Bolivia or the hippies in San Francisco. Rightists came around to environmentalism slower than leftists, and they are still lagging behind in commitment, but we're not out to destroy the earth. We just have priorities.

For example: <math>oil</math> <math> > </math> <math>stupid</math> <math>lizard</math>.

P.S.: Sheepman, we all know you're a nut. There's been a lot of times we've told you to shup up.
P.S.S.: Stupid hippies.
