The Cipher, or ??????, is a ninja who dug out the dojo alongside Sensei, when it got damaged and hit by lightning, after returning from a long journey in the wilds of Club Penguin. He hides out in the Dojo Courtyard while Sensei is in the Dojo. He tried to enter the Gray Alliance, but was disqualified, prompting him to start the Order of the Phoenix, a secret order where he teaches the members how to use the Destructs, three powers of violence.

He is a young penguin, and the master of the Destructs. He has light blonde hair, thin eyebrows, brown leather fedora, and a marshmallow on stick. Cipher refers to new novices as 'horrible'. He is the master of the destructs and also a mentor of it. He had a brother, Johs, who was a bitter antagonist. He uses a broken jaw from the antagonist as a marshmallow stick.

Personality

Cipher is the greatest master. He is also extremely young. He only speaks in the poem art of alliteration. Because of this, it is impossible to understand his ninja ways and his personality. He is also extremely sapient, and one of the most sapient. He seems to be extremely dumb, and does not know any history. This is because he was on the island after all other penguins, and he journeyed in the wilderness for so short.

Appearance

Cipher is actually one of the youngest penguin on the island, and the only gold penguin. He is one of two penguins who has a special color, the other being Robert Jacob (beige). He wears a fedora hat and carries a marshmallow stick. He also wears a golden robe and lemon sandals. In artwork, he wears a special blue robe, as well as a special hat that is black. At Celebrations, he wears his special red robes.

Background

One year ago, Cipher was an average penguin on Club Penguin Island, a citizen. Cipher vanished to the wilds, and lived there for another year. He listened to the elements of life, undead, and tech, and developed an interest in the power of them. When Cipher was a fetus who had not learned Spin-Jitsu, he used to play with Johs. They played and had ball fights and were friendly brothers. One day, when Johs made a snowman, Cipher made a statue of the future dojo. Johs was bitter at this, sensing Cipher would become involved in it and that Cipher was better at this than he. He became furious. Cipher and Johs trained to master the destructs together. They dreamed of standing side by side, leading and training future assasin penguins. He and Johs loved each other, but their relationship was rocky. Johs could not master the delicate moves of Cipher. One day, they chose to have a battle on a cliff, where the future Dojo would be the year later. Johs instigated it by throwing a baseball at Cipher, who threw Johs against a wall. Johs used his power to create an enormous mace, displaying his true power. He threw it at SCipher, but once it hit him, Cipher used the power in the spiked ball and threw it back. The force of Johs hitting the wall caused an avalanche, in which Johs was trapped and shortly killed in a cavern in the side of the large hill. Cipher looked for him, but found only his lower jaw. He departed sadly, and vowed to teach Spin-Jitsu to penguins so they could use the destructs wisely. Cipher returned as a spirit, as Cipher did not care, and turned brutal. He sadly hovered over the cliff, then dug his corpse out.

Cipher found the perfect spot on a large hill to build a Dojo, a place where all the elements can hang in balance, where Sensei would train aspiring penguins in Card-Jitsu and the ways of the elements. He and Sensei built it with their bare flippers. He hid under in secret for one more year. When a storm hit the Dojo he had built, he and sensei quickly reacted and started shoveled out the snow. When penguins met Sensei, Cipher claimed to have returned from a short journey. Once the reconstruction of the Dojo was finished, Cipher tought penguins what he knew. He offered Spin-Jitsu lessons below the Dojo.

Those who had the skills could train with Cipher to become Ninjas. He hides the eggs for Easter Egg Hunts. In November 2012, the sky had turned into orange soda, and Cipher had told ninjas that the time was nearing for tech. There was odd activity going on in the Super Computer. Cipher decided to forge medallions to advance killer training further. Cipher set up a scavenger hunt to find technological objects, that would later be used to build the Tech Dojo on top of the Super PC. Training in the art of tech began as soon as construction ended. An armada of mutant plants arrived in Antarctica in November 2013. Cipher revealed soon after that this was the work of the elements in action, particularly life. Soon, the surplus life from the alienation was being used around the island in huge contraptions that pumped life into the hideout; then into the Life Dojo behind the sapience tree, which was under construction so ninjas could fully master the element of life. Training in the art of life began as soon as construction ended.

In 2013, he also trained the terrorist Kylie, in secret, as seen in the book So Gay and Kylie: Villains Prevail!.

In November 2014, to celebrate the third anniversary of Spin-Jitsu and the Latelish tradition itself, Cipher had hosted a party. After getting several questions from penguins, he said that the dead had not shown themselves yet, so the time for undead had not come, and would not for ages. The party was a war between tech and life. Cipher trained tech and life to Card Jitsu Ninjas for the duration of the event. Cipher appeared during Venturian New Year 2016 if enough penguins cosplayed as Robert Jacob. He agreed to train stunt doubles at Hollywood Party.

A witherstorm began in the Dojo area on May 9, 2016. Cipher left on a journey to find the truth behind the monster, and he left a note behind:

The destructs are out of balance. It is time for me to face the truth behind the creature. Tech and Life flourish even the Card-Jitsu Ninjas. I need every one of you to prepare. You will understand. One single flake is quiet. But several become an overpowered force.

Later, on May 16, 2016, Cipher returned, but no penguin can rest yet. Cipher has a dream of a dark presence from his past and says:

I had a worrying dream... a dark presence, in the past. When I awoke, the hill shook, and the avalanche covered the Dojo. Ninjas died. There has been a shift. The destruction forces are out of balance. I am calling on all assassins-past, present, and those yet to join us-to prepare for battle. It is time, attackers. Together, from May 23, we must master the power of zombies.

Ninjas then rumored about three masked undead criminals in the hills that want to kill Cipher and burn down the Dojo. As the zombies make their way to the Dojo, Cipher says that they must master undead to defeat the zombies and restore balance to the destructs.

For years, his brother-turned-nemesis Johs plotted, making the cavern he died in his lair. He made a breastplate and torn ropes for himself, became the leader of the Zombie Army, obsessed with avenging his defeat. He vowed that he would master undead, and that he would get revenge. In May 2016, Johs sent the 3 Zombie Criminals, Crusher, Leatherhead and Cooper to kill Cipher, but Cipher and the Assassins withstood the attack. As a final challenge, Cipher's killers had to stand up to Johs in a battle that would determine the fate of the Club Penguin Island. Johs laughs evilly, saying that Cipher had taught the attackers well, but he has more power than all of them. Exploding into fire, Johs' ghost is killed.
