As expected, Swiss doesn't wish to step in the middle between TS and the community. So, it's up to us to be TurtleShroom's judge and jury (the staff will be the executioner if Swiss still isn't willing).

Due to the three month mark approaching for TS' activity, I had let him know about it via NationStates, because I figured it'd be the nice thing to do. However, as most of you probably know, TS came back, deleted the inactivity policy, and has changed a few other policies to fit his liking. The thing about that is, despite what he thinks, he is not above anyone else. We're all equal in this community, so he can't go around acting like a webmaster.

I'm considering his recent actions as power abuse (especially considering that the community voted the new inactivity policy into play), not to mention all of the prior problems he has caused in the past. CKSig.pngWannaTalk? 19:26, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

This vote is to ultimately decide the fate of TurtleShroom. Shall he keep his rights, or be demoted? You decide, because democracy rules.

Comments/Discussion

  • TS, I am sorry, but seriously. I have to agree with CK. You can't go around and remove policies around like that without others consent. Also, the inactivity policy isn't corruption; what YOU are doing at the moment is corruption. --Penstubal (Talk) (Edits) 19:29, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Abusing power by deleting wiki policy, trying to push a homophobic agenda on the wiki, and is inactive. Yeah demote him. Mectrixctic Talk to me! See the articles I worked on.. see my 5,676 edits! 19:33, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • I'd like to weigh in here. For the record, TS is correct in saying that sexuality of any kind has no place anywhere on this network. If you're a homosexual, good for you; if you're not, good for you. Kindly keep your orientation to yourself. Conversely, if somebody mentions their orientation to you anywhere and it's something you don't agree with, don't go out of your way to hate against them. I myself don't necessarily agree with homosexuality but I would never discriminate against or deny rights to somebody who does. People believe in what they believe in, and you can try with all of your might to get this person to convert to what you want - but ultimately, you're not in charge of that person (especially if you're not their parent or anything). Trying to change the personal values of another individual never ends well -- this is to TS towards others and to others towards TS.
As for you, my turtle-mushroom friend, the inactivity policy holds nothing against anybody personally. Imagine if teachers could retire but were never taken off the rolls: it's rather messy and confusing for a lot of folks. Not to mention, it just allows for newer people to come in and learn the ropes -- that's just the way things are. Teachers retire and new teachers take their place. I am fully aware that someone's bound to take my place and someone just might take yours, too. Nothing against me, nothing against you. We're just not able to do our jobs to our best anymore, and for the better of the wiki (or in our example, the school) it's best to bring in people who can.
Thank you kindly for listening. If there's anything I can do, message me or stop by on IRC. --Hat Pop Bunny Ears Rule! 20:35, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Even though I'm usually the "give another chance" type of guy (unless Mega Man is involved), we all democratically voted on a policy wich fits mostly everyone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fooly8 (talkcontribs)
  • I second what HatPop said. And I'm not going to vote For because I'm forgiving like that. I think CK went overboard by implying that "This is the end for..." TurtleShroom when the vote hasn't passed yet. Not unexpectedly, this resulted in TurtleShroom retaliating on CK's talk page. Not a peaceful way to solve anything. And peace is what the community wants, which is why the friends of TurtleShroom have abstained or are hesitant to vote. Though I do believe TurtleShroom can grow through this, and a demotion might let him reconsider democracy. • The reason I said that is because TS has been acting like this for years, and he still hasn't changed nor do I believe he'll ever change. He thinks he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants (including inactivity), and if anyone has a problem with that, then too bad because he is TurtleShroom. CKSig.pngWannaTalk? 22:56, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • No need to demotivate people. 23:03, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • TS demotivated people for the longest time whenever they would say or do something he didn't like. One major example coming to mind is AeroNachos, who he chased off of the wiki. Just because it's him in the spotlight now shouldn't make it any different, we shouldn't be any more forgiving for him than we are for any other user. CKSig.pngWannaTalk? 00:16, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Normally, I would just sit by and wait for TS to bugger off again, as he usually does. But this time, I believe he's crossed the line. No user should be allowed to staple their opinion to wiki policy and parade that as the opinion as the community as a whole. But even worse, he modified and deleted policy for personal aims, which is a blatant abuse of power. --CAN'DUH Bro Talk to me! OH YEEEEEEAH 23:05, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • I cannot blame them. Even if I'm new, I agree with all previous statements. And you've gotta know the golden rule, "Treat others the way YOU want to be treated." If you are mean, someone's gonna do something about it. It's just how things work! Perapin has a good point, and I must agree with all. Sorry. It's just how life flows. No matter what the situation. Please understand. -- Yours truly, Puffle Escape here. HAMMER! 00:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Considering how you acted by deleting a policy to keep your rights, I must agree even more than I did when I placed the first message. TurtleShroom, the time has come. --Puffle Escape here. HAMMER! 17:34, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • One can forgive, but one can never forget. As for the whole "childrens' eye" thing, I see 5 year olds with iPhones and 10 yr olds swearing. Innocence is an unfortunate lie. As such, we would need to keep up with the generation. I can personally guarantee you that at one point, CP WILL introduce something controversial, and when such happens, it will be canon. Then what? -Wonderweez (Talk · Contribs) 01:06, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • And this is why one man can't rule all. I really don't want to do this, but the evidence tells it all. Deleting an entire policy just because he doesn't like it? Umm, no. With TS's current behavior, I can predict that the entire wiki will experience corruption within weeks. This is, quite simply, the only way to deal with this issue. --NevadaFlag.png Yoshi11 | Anyone need a tour guide? 01:28, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • I am very heartbroken to see that somebody that I practically worshiped from afar would do this. At least when PE was corrupting the wiki, he was doing it unintentionally. It's always very disappointing when an authority figure uses that power to be the King when it's not a kingdom. --Mr Cow2
  • TS, we all respect you for who you are, but I agree that this has gone too far. There were so many people who agreed to the Inactivity Policy, and you can't just shoot it down, regardless of how long you have been here. The policy isn't directly aimed at you. But I will continue to respect you and I hope everyone else does too. ULSK12TalkContribsYoutube amiibo in Korea?! 110% STAMP OF APPROVAL DaiBouken.jpg 02:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • It seems like this happens at least once a year. And how does it end? Badly. Make sure you have everything figured out this time, guys. I'm abstain. --$harkbate Talk Page 02:17, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Apologies mate, but I can clearly see that you are deleting the Inactivity policy just to stay in power. --Russia flag.PNGBelarus flag.jpgSlender Talk to me 11:46, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • I have honestly lost all respect I had for you, TurtleShroom. Stop it with your brutal actions. You are NOT the king of this wiki and you need to face it and stop acting like you are. --Penstubal (Talk) (Edits) 17:25, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
  • All right, that's it. Delete this vote, a policy, create a "Demote CK" page. Create that demotion page if you want, but you WILL NOT delete pages to your liking. There is no one leader here. --NevadaFlag.png Yoshi11 | Anyone need a tour guide? 17:39, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
