Please vote here for the Featured Article of the Month.

From the first day of each month to the last day of each month, users can nominate or vote for up to two articles that they think should be the Featured Article for that month! Then, on the first day of each month, the votes get counted and the FAOTM is announced and will stay featured until the last day of the month. The winning article will get the template {{FAOTM}}, will be displayed on the Main Page as the Featured Article of the Month, and will be added to the FAotM Archive. Once an article has won this title, it may not be nominated ever again. This way, we can continuously pick the articles that the public likes, rather than only choosing HQAs. Nominations count as votes, and a user may not use both of their votes for the month on the same article. Users may not nominate or vote for articles they created.

Up to 12 articles are allowed to be nominated each month (overall, not by one user), this is to prevent overflowing. If there is only one entry posted without competition, it wins the vote. If there are two or more entries that are equally tied at the end of the month (even if the tie is no votes whatsoever), the first one to break the tie is the winner. If no entries are posted for that month, there is no winner, and the Main Page must continue to show the Featured Article from last month. If an entry does not win after three different tries/months and little effort is made to improve it, it is not allowed to be renominated for another 6 months.

  1. 2nded Penguinpuffdude Spring to your feet - Spring is here! It's time for a chat, no? 10:03, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • I disapprove of this article. It's clearly just a combination of user and character me made dumber and a power-hungry bully, twisted to stubal's personification of me. I find it to be a personal attack thinly veiled in the name of "satire". While stubal and quacker will say it's the same as Scrubbypingu, I don't agree with that and think it's quite a misleading statement. --CKAdmin 12:54, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • You made the same kind of mockery of me, Quackerpingu and Brant with the Scrubbypingu article, and honestly, none of us three really had a problem with that - we only had a problem with it if it means we can't make our own similar article of you either, and clearly it turns out we're right. It amuses me that you can harm and bully us all the time yet we cannot just defend ourselves (and, thanks to crowd mentality, we always end up the guilty ones). Feel free to propose deleting both articles, or instead come to the table and help us make both articles more moderate and community-friendly. --Penstubal (Talk) (Edits) 13:26, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • From an outsider's perspective, let me just say that I personally disagree with both articles and any page made with the primary intent of mocking another user (or two? i lost track), including both Scrub and Melonhead. I've only really gotten a good look at Scrubbypingu, but it really looks like most of the moves that Quacks has made over the years are parodied. Meanwhile, Melonheadquino appears to serve no other purpose than to be a response to Scrubbypingu. Frankly, all of this is detrimental to this wiki's growth as a community and I think that Scrubbypingu, Melonheadquino, Scrub, Melonhead, and all related articles should be deleted. Then the policy should be amended so we don't get any more of these articles. And then we'll all have a jolly old time on IRC messing around with the functions that kristin has that I've forgotten at this point because despite almost never sleeping before midnight these days I still never come on IRC. Ulsk avatar.png Current Status: college apps are over, yeet (TCY) 15:54, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • I can definitely see that, but my problem is mostly that the foundation of the character is a user-based parody. Ulsk avatar.png Current Status: i will play vr shoot game only if picsoft makes some sort of tiny defense vr shooter (TCY) 07:15, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

July's winner is... Dooley!
  • I'm sure it's a great story and I've been meaning to get around to reading it, but I don't really like the idea of featuring one of Wiki's stories two months in a row. Give someone else a shot. --Chill57181 (Talk - Contributions - My Articles) 16:47, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

  1. Been a while since we've had just a random article from somewhere in the wiki's history get featured versus something owned by an active user. Sure, why not? --Chill57181 (Talk - Contributions) 16:40, 29 August 2019 (UTC)

September 1-30[edit]

September's winner is... Naomi Jones!
  1. I actually really like this article, but it's the first time I've ever seen it. Sounds like a good reason to feature it to me! --Chill57181 (Talk - Contributions) 16:44, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
  • Yeah, the only reason this still had the quality rating is because it was too big to edit all at once and no one took initiative to remove some chapters to fix it, so it stayed there for a while. you're welcome btw Interestingly, it was never actually rated by admins, but rather two ordinary users, one of whom was the story author. --Chill57181 (Talk - Contributions) 16:51, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
  • (1) I think what Slender is trying to say is that this is one of the only few stories which still includes an quality review or perhaps it was never removed. (2) With that being said, I’m a little hesitant to support this. I do think it’s a great story but I think there were many unnecessary usages of letter bolding. Perhaps if you were doing it for all of the explosions, I’d be more inclined to understand this more. But I feel there were many letter boldings. I’d rather probably just put it in caps and put it in bold if very serious like an explosion and not much of a reaction unless it was a reaction of anger to the extreme. I just feel like if I read a book about something similar, I don’t think I’d see much explosions and I’m not sure if it would be book of the month. (Also Chapter 8 had the opportunity to make a WHAT?!? joke since did bold the letter ‘WHAT’ with question and exclamation marks. :P ) (3) I’m not saying this book isn’t ultra quality, perhaps I missed something that does merit it for that rating (if it’s supposed to have one in the first place.) But unless I can be convinced, I can’t seem to throw my support behind this story. --Dinoalbasi1 (Talk) (Contributions) 11:47, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
  • When I removed quality ratings from some stories, an admin (I don't remember who, possibly CK) told me to leave the UQA templates there. --QP.png Quackerpingu (Talk) (Contributions) 13:18, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
