Club Penguin Fanon Wiki:Final Solution/2016
| Grab a hard hat! This page or section is currently under construction, which could be anything from expansion to a major renovation! The information contained within it should not be considered fully accurate until this tag has been removed. |
Hello, Club Penguin Fanon Wiki users. Many of you have probably never heard of the Final Solution since most of the users who originally carried it out have left the wiki, and even less have experienced one. The Final Solution 2010 was a wiki-wide event held by the administrators to increase the quality of some LQA articles on the wiki, and delete the rest, over the course of one weekend. This may have happened annually in 2011 and 2012 too, but was cancelled in 2013 after a request from TurtleShroom, and has not been held since. That means we have went nearly four years without cleansing the wiki of small, terrible articles, which in the long run dirties the wiki and our reputation. So, it has been decided that we are going to host another Final Solution, with a few differences:
- Instead of focusing on mass-deleting articles, we will focus on mass-improving articles, and deleting what's left over.
- Since the wiki is significantly less active than it was in 2010, we'll host this FS over the course of a month or so, rather than two days.

Why?[edit]
Well you might be thinking something like "Why are we having a Final Solution" or even "Why should I participate?" Well, here's some answers to those questions.
- By having a Final Solution, we can rid the wiki of "Wretched Articles" and stubs, fix articles that have long been neglected, and fix simple things like double redirects, redlinks, importing any missing images, etc.
- Also, having little to no LQAs again will improve our wiki's appearance.
- This also gives users a chance to have their own articles deleted if they dislike them, and the articles aren't too important to the wiki's continuity.
- You should participate to show your willingness to be involved with the community, and in wiki events!
- This also provides a great opportunity for less experienced users to improve their writing and article-building skills while also doing good deeds in the way of saving lower quality articles on the wiki- even if you don't wish to adopt said articles.
- There might even be some awards handed out to the users who participate the most...
So how are we going do to this? Read Below.
Plan[edit]
Managed by Ninjinian and Cp kid, we know that it's going to be a very hard task to tackle. That's why we've compiled a 8-step organisation plan to start with to make sure we can do this systematically. This will then lead into the actual work with the editing of the articles.
To keep it short, all the LQA-stubs collected will be listed easily for users to pick and choose what they want to improve.
Phase 1 – Organisation[edit]
Before the dirty work begins, this lengthy process will have to be completed:
- Get an accurate number of LQA-stubs there are.
- Sort through as many as possible. Make sure all are tagged with LQA.
- If there are too many, whittle it down to a realistic target no. of articles we should tackle.
- Get a list of AIUs (Article Improvement Users) that are willing to contribute.
- Categorise them on a page under headings – Locations, Characters, Items.
- Add a key for the potential of articles – High, Med, Low.
- Every AIU gets a target no. of articles they should improve.
Phase 2 – Improvement[edit]
Phase 2 will be our "Improvement" period. Starting during Phase 1, users whose articles have been tagged stubs and/or Low Quality Articles will be given time to improve and expand their articles if they which. Users will be able to choose articles from any specific field. If you wish to edit an article on a Character, you will easily be able to pick one from the categorised list. They may also decide to request their stubs deleted if they wish, or they could redirect it to any relevant page, etc. Those articles will be added under a "Articles to be Deleted" heading.
Users will be requested to label an article they are improving (with a template, coming soon) just to let the community know, and to keep track. This doesn't mean that other users can't edit that article, unless the user leading the improvement of that article requests so with a legitimate reason.
Articles that are not improved to the Average Quality Article standards are automatically forfeited when the deadline arrives and will be deleted.
We also request that redlinked articles also be fixed. For those who are unaware of what a redlink is, a redlink is this.
Phase 3 – Deletion[edit]
Phase 3 will be when Staff, Bureaucrats, and Admins will Begin deleting any articles we feel are totally useless / have no potential. Perhaps keep any you think have a cool name and that you can work with.
If you have any questions, please leave a message on this project's talk page.
Thank you.
