Club Penguin Fanon Wiki:New Main Page

If you're reading this, then you must of seen the new main page that I've made for the wiki. I apologize if this seems sudden like last time, but it was required to combat our traffic problem and to make the page more newcomer friendly. That's why the main page focuses more on content than it does with user related items. Things like absences have been removed, as I feel that word of mouth seems to be more appropriate for explaining absences. People don't really scroll down to the bottom of the page to look at the absences, and I'm sure myself and a few others have had the personal embarrassment of having a friend of yours go for a bit, then ask why they haven't been so active when they come back from their holiday.

As you can see from the main page, some new things have been added, and I've also tried to keep the old mainpage style, while incorporating a bit of my own. Please feel free to leave input on the comments section below, thank-you! Zone 16:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Added Features

• Clicking on party banner picture on header takes you to the CPFW party planner; I feel that we should all get more active into CP, hone up on our canonical knowledge. Plus, it'd be a great way to meet new people and game with each other on CP as well.
• Kept Featured article/user/image, Template:Mainfooter replaced with Contact Us box
• Added a Did you know/the more you know section where new users can find out random trivia about articles and learn helpful facts
• Added a new users box, shows a featured new user + lots of links. One of them is redlinked, but that's because I plan to make a MAAAAAAAAAASIVE guide.

Removed Features

• Absences removed. I find word of mouth to be more useful for it, plus nobody really scrolls down to read them anyway.
• Category section removed. This will be replaced with portals.
• Announcements section removed. We have MediaWiki:Sitenotice for that.

• I love it, especially the official Club Penguin banner. I think we should also get an official logo (not like the logo now, but just a logo with text). The only things I would suggest at the moment would be to add more sections and possibly change the headers from grey to a better colour. Otherwise, good job.
