Background[edit]
After recording "History" in December 2008 and releasing it in February 2007, they took a break from recording and started doing small gigs around Club Penguin. They finished in March 2008. Petey K suggested that they should record another single. So the next month they wrote it from April 1-18, then recorded it from April 19-27. In June, they announced their single on their website. It said it was called "Dashing and Peppy", and would release in August 2008. In an interview with Aunt Arctic, G Billy said: "The song literally means, in a simpler form, [dashing means] energetic, lively, stylish and peppy meaning the same thing. You might be thinking "Why use two words that mean the same thing?" Well, in the end, we decided to use 'dashing' as handsome. In the song, a mob of females are out to get us. The first two verses are from their point of view, and the last verse is from us."
Critical reception[edit]
Raymond Vegas of "Music Spy" gave the song a positive review:
Penguin Band have done it again. I think it's going to be a hit-after-hit for them. Dashing and Peppy describes the band trying to avoid a mob of fans. I like how the song has been divided into the mob's view and then the band's view. Franky delivers a nice rap just before the band start ranting their views on what's happening. Not at their best in this song, though. I believe they could of done better on this song. But, it is an R&B classic for sure!
I believe better songs will come around, but there's always bad points! Nice try, Penguin Band! Hopefulyl this will be on your album, including History.

Ruby Music Digital goes the same direction.
"One thing we did realize is [that] there is no rap in a country song.

Chart performance[edit]
On August 17, 2008 "Dashing and Peppy" charted number 1 in Club Penguin, USA and UnitedTerra. It stayed number 1 for 5 weeks, then they beat themselves off the number 1 spot with "Amazing". In Freezeland, it charted at number 5. In Pengolia, it charted number 14, then in Puffle'and at number 8 and number 16 in Dorkugal. The song didn't chart in Top 10 elsewhere because of the lack of promotion. The song charted in the Top 20 of all charts.
Music video[edit]
Background and concept[edit]
Shooting for the video started on May 20, 2008. Shooting first took place at the Beach in Club Penguin. They discussed the concept of the video for the first few hours, then set up everything. The crew asked penguins if they wanted to be in the video. Everybody that was in it got 900 coins. They got 16 penguins. The next day they got everything ready and started shooting the video. The music video was directed by Rick Roddie, who directed Cadence's video for "The Beginning". He commented on the video before it's release: "I decided to leave it all to the band. It's their song, so they get what they want. So they just told me to portray the video on the song. Petey told me that it can't be something that's just random. I think the video's going to turn out quite great. We're not using any special effects or props so the budget is very low. G Billy wanted a simple video, nothing fancy. Stompin' Bob agreed saying that it was their style to be simple. Then came Franky's rap solo. It lasts roughly about 31 seconds, and what he wanted was for him to leave the rest of the band as they get chased. He hides in the Stage ticket booth, then he sneaks up to the top of the Pizza Parlour and does his rap." The video was uploaded to PengTube on June 15, 2008 and got over 20 million views on the first day. It currently has over 50 million views.
Synopsis[edit]
The video starts off with the band talking at the Beach. Then a tour guide comes with a group of penguins. They all spot the band and they start chasing them. They chase the band into the Lighthouse and up to the Beacon. During those scenes, they are each shown in different parts of the Lighthouse singing their parts. They grab some jet packs and jump off the Beacon. They land at the Mountain. They each grab a tube near the sled racing posts. Franky winks at them and they race down the mountain. They come at the end of the mountain and see the mob waiting for them. At different points, Franky is shown leaning near the Sports Shop as the mob chase the other three. The same thing happens. Petey K is shown laying down at the Dock, G Billy sits at the table outside the Coffee Shop and Stompin' Bob is shown coming out of the Gift Shop. Then Franky leaves the band as they pass the Plaza. He goes up to the roof of the Pizza Parlour to do his rap. Birds-eye views of the band running around from the Forest to the Cove are shown too. In the last 50 seconds of the song, Franky comes to the Cove via jet-pack, and with all their instrument. They then finish the song while performing.
