Georgio Benito Alvarez International Airport(ACAO:PRE AATA:IPRE) is an international airport located 9 miles southeast of Ciudad Puerto Elanor and serves the city of Puerto Elanor, San Juan Island and Santa Cruz Island. The airport is owned by the government of Puerto Elanor but is leased out to the National Airport Authority.
As of the 2010 annum, the airport handled 10,078,662 passengers and received more than 110,000 inbound and outbound flights. The airport also handled 1375 tons of cargo and also operated more than 110 military charters and flights throughout that particular year. The airport is continuing to increase in passenger and aircraft movement numbers, seeing a 12.3% jump since 2009.
At the airport, more than 56 domestic and 32 international flights depart and arrive at the airport each day. SkyJet Airways is the most predominant carrier at the airport, operating at least 51% of the flights at the airport and maintains a large superiority over it's competitors on the Polaris-City to Puerto Elanor daily route.
