"Have a Listen to the Slogan" is a song by Terrain rapper DJ Crow, released as a promotional single off his fourth studio album Today's Declaration (2013). The song premiered on PengTube on August 5, 2013 and was available for purchase the next day by Colossal Records. It is the twelfth track on the album, and was written and produced entirely by DJ Crow, along with additional production from ID Kard. The music video was uploaded to Crow's website on August 25, 2013 (the day the official lead single "Captions" was released), and uploaded to PengTube the same evening. The song garnered positive critical acclaim - resulting into many remixes by fellow rappers when Crow released the instrumental.
Background[edit]
The song was the first Crow recorded for the album in December 2011. The lyrics were written in the space of an hour as Crow read a book about legendary rap lyrics and artists. At first Crow didn't know how long to make the song, but settled on making it a short 2 minute and 30 second track to fit into the album's concept song.
