This discussion regards the Yow Kingdom. Ok, so it looks like OpenID (no offense) has been driving half the Wiki nuts. Swiss and OpenID have been arguing the most; I just extinguished a flame war between the two and removed about 5,372 bytes from OpenIDl talk. Now, OpenID obviously wants the Yow Kingdom to be big, powerful, etc, but there has to be a point to where it stops. So, let's say they have a rapidly growing economy but high crime and lots of poverty. Or a lot of corruption resulting in a oligarchy of corruption dominated by the rich and powerful. You get the point; however OpenID and the community, in particular, SN, have to agree on something that would make Yow fit in.

The Yow Kingdom was fine a week ago. But now in the past week he focused on MORE stupid power expansions. More islands, provinces, stuff to make SN angry. I suggest the undoing of OpenID's radical expansions of this week. However DO NOT attempt to "fix" the actual article Yow Kingdom. Like I said, ONLY undo the past week's changes to the article. Listen, I'm just mad about Swiss Ninjas because he chooses war on Yow. When really Yow Kingdom and Castilla should become allies and try to conquer the USA. I expanded the Yow Kingdom by having Feey1 find F Island, and the June Islands ending up in their borders. Everyone on Yow is very nice, and almost everyone is rich. The economy is extremely massive, and the country does not borrow money from other countries. I know that they have not gotten any allies yet, but Swiss Ninja is just really not wanting Castilla and Yow to be friends(which I do want them to). I've now started to expand the Yow with scientific advancements. Like Space Colony 1, the Penguin Super Suit, an a extremely powerful navy. It is still a small kingdom, but half of the population is in the military or in the GUARD.

Oh I know what allies are. But I want Yow to stand by itself and not be apart of any other countries. It is difficult to find allies when must countries are in the USA. King Alexander wants nothing to do with the USA but destroying them. I just need to find some islands near Yow that may want to be allies. -Feey1
Feey, you're being self-contradictory. Yow and the USA can't be enemies and trading partners at the same time. If Yow were actively trying to destroy the USA, they'd be instantly embargoed and they'd probably suffer massive damage to the economy. And please don't tell Swiss Ninja how to write his articles. Snowzerland is very competitive and nationalistic. It would be somewhat out of character for them to team up with Yow.
Another thing: Yow is starting to come off as far too perfect. The economy is great, everyone is nice (somehow), and the nation is great with technology. We can't have that. You need to balance out Yow's expansion with flaws and problems, such as extensive crime, a struggling economy, or a dysfunctional government. Yow cannot be the perfect empire, and it is certainly n ot taking down the USA anytime soon.

Alright. So what if Yow has a somewhat corrupted government, and a large black market. And I don't want to team with Snowzerland, but Castilla. And the USA doesn't even have a clue that the Yowiens and their king look forward to its downfall. I will give Yow a small corruption it its government and add a black market where penguins sell illegal things. -Feey1

@Feey: I control the USA, not you. It's not realistic for the USA not to know what everyone else is up to; they're the largest country and they have multiple intelligence agencies.
As for the black market idea: you need to expand on that. Just simply mentioning the black market will not offset the perfect economy, perfect citizens, or perfect technology. If you're going to go with crime, make the law enforcement incompetent and make Yow a center for smuggling. Yow could hold some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the continent. - No, that was SN being childish and starting a flame war. I should had warned him for that but I didn't, in case everyone moaned (someone actually finish the COC... thanks).

- Everyone being nice is impossible; trust me, people, including me, you and everyone, are mean to some extent. The economy, well, as I've said before, the service sector is where the money is, so the Yow Kingdom would have a problem there. My suggestion would be oil, because that is the other area where money is made. As for everyone being rich... well that would be impossible; there has to be the workers, there has to be the middle class and there have to be the people who exploit it all. Also, all countries borrow for others, no matter how rich, just some do it less than others, like China, although if you don't borrow you can't really do big projects like Space Colony 1, YSA, etc.

- Well to fund all this you will have to borrow so much... so much that it would kill your economy. Numbers in the military doesn't always mean a stronger army; in fact you would have a big but weak military. Also a 'Battleship' is a ship with a lot of cannons on board, since I saw 'battleship' quite a lot on the Yow Kingdom. Countries today use Destroyers, Frigates, Corvettes, Patrol boats and Gunboats as their mainstream ships, along with a few ships to ship the Marines and perhaps a few Aircraft carriers, depending on whether it's a Brown, Green or Blue water navy. Having half of your penguins in the military would honestly kill your economy; you can have conscription, like Switzerland, but not half of your penguins in the military professionally.

Debt[edit]
Okay, I just finished sinking Yow into debt. Due to overspending, King Alexander has been forced to borrow money from the USA (at 50% interest, which really doesn't help). I think this is a good way to balance out Yow's Mary Sue, though we'll need to find a way for Yow to sustain itself (unless you want Yow to be bought out by the USA). Also remember that the last country that failed to repay its debt to the USA got XXX'd.

First off, Castilla hates Yow for the same reasons Snowzerland does. Castilla would rather work with Snowzerland than to pair up with the mediocre Yows. Why can't Yow just be peaceful? And Castilla also hates yow because of Feey being a slave owner. Oh, and that video was the lyrics to the song. It's not a movie, just music with a background…And AJ, stay out of people's buisness, OK? Me and Feey are getting in a personal situation here.

Okay, after a long time of self-deliberation and massive "lurking" of this article on my phone in silence, I've decided to toss in my opinion, based upon my knowledge of hyperinflation, debt, and drive to shatter Mary Sues.
Allow me to begin with the immediate consequences of building up armies, funding a space program, and all other things of that nature without having the money to back it in the first place. Even if it stimulates the economy and creates jobs, what will those jobs be paid in? Money? Well, yes, but what good is money when it's being magically created out of thin air in order to fund a project?
This is inflation. Inflation is when the value of a currency- what it can buy -shrinks over time. It becomes worth less than before. If you print money to finance something, backing it with nothing but "because I said so", and seeing no growth, people are going to charge more of this money to get the same product.
Let's say a loaf of bread is worth five coins. All right. Now, let's say the government that issues the coin undergoes a Yowian spending spree, or, in a more realistic example, the United States, having done so since the 1920s. They start printing money to finance billion-dollar.... know what? TO HECK WITH THAT. Let the bankers sho you: [1]
Now, essentially, we're having Yow print more money that is unjustifiable by their wealth. Yow's economy is not powerful enough to sustain that much money, so the Yowian currency goes down. Essentially, Weimar Republic Fanon Wiki.
That article looks long, but I swear, if you read it after you watch that video that is roughly two minutes, you'll have a total understanding of what we're about to do with Yow.
Their debt will devalue their currency until wheelbarrows of Yowian Dollars (or whatever) are worth a single fish, two or three Puffle-O's, or a scrap of the sleeve of a new shirt. It'll start slow, and go fast.
The end result will be like the Weimar Republic. Basically, though, instead of Nazis, we're going to have the Yowian Milirary coup the government and win the support of the people by "making their life savings worth something again".
The military junta that will follow will make Yow's money stable, but at the cost of the nation's power. They'll be no more powerful than Maps Island after the war was settled and their junta came to power in the Snoss Wars. Yow will come in a fledging, militaristic nation with hyperinflation, and will go out a humble regime ruled by the very military that was once Feey's pride and joy.
THAT is how it shall be, and Feey, your character can arrive and work for the junta, be in the junta, or have a say.

I think everyone is going over board. Why can't in 2012 Yow suddenly hits a depression? And the currency at Yow Kingdom(besides June Islands) is the Club Penguin Gold Coin! It cannot loose it's worth anytime, that's what I believe. And I really doubt Yow could ever be conquered by some other country. I would like to be Fair Game, but in a way of the USA. I would like people to use it in their pages. But you guys are all over reacting! You see Yow has made some bad decisions, that over the years led them into a depression. You guys seem to be doing bad moves yourself. This is a WIKI! This means ANYONE can add their ideas, edits, and more! Yow could not be fair game, but cannot be adopted. Yow just needs to have more originality, and fixed a little! But you guys keep going over board. And Swiss Ninja, please don't get into any of this. -Feey1
The problem with your article is that Yow is so ridiculously overrated and perfect in every way that no one will like it. When that happens to characters, they're called Mary Sues. The reason everyone is being so vocal on this is because we (and a lot of other writers) try to avoid Mary Sues at all costs. They detract from a story and are considered amateurish and tacky.

- No, it's not. The gold coin, or fish, is the USA's currency. What you probably mean is that Yow's currency started out as having equal value with the USA's currency.
- And I really doubt Yow could ever be conquered by some other country.
- It's a tiny island nation. I'm pretty sure a large power like Freezeland or Snowzerland could win a victory, even if it were Pyrrhic.
- You guys seem to be doing bad moves yourself. This is a WIKI! This means ANYONE can add their ideas, edits, and more! Yow could not be fair game, but cannot be adopted.
- So by that logic there's nothing wrong with fixing Yow.

I think the military should be weak. Weak enough so that it cant conquer anyone. I also am considering about making the "Neutrality Peace Party" to be yow's official dominant party and another peaceful party as it's competitor.
Basically saying, the citizens of Yow should oppose wars and conquering and focus on more proactive things in their lives.
