Kermit the Frog, also known as Kormit and Saint Kermit, is a talented frog that was officially named as Mascot of the Club Penguin Weekee in 2017. He was Canonized as a Saint by P.O.P.E. Benzin on May 12, 2018. Thanks to Kermit's heroism on the Weekee, he has become very popular across all of Antarctica, particularly with Weekee visitors. Statues of Kermit and things dedicated to him can be found in many places, and Kermit merchandise is readily available nearly everywhere across the contient.
Not much is known about Kermit's past, but he claims to be a frog. He was first seen in Antarctica in early 2014, on Club Penguin. During this time he visited with penguins and handed out autographs. After Kermit's rise to fame on the Club Penguin Weekee in 2017, these autographs became collector's items, with an estimated value of 2 million coins each. Few penguins are willing to sell them, however. After Kermit was given the "Hero of the Weekee" Snowflake Award, CPW Bureaucrat Hat Pop hired him as the Weekee's official mascot, a position that had been vacant since 2013. Since then, Kermit has had a semi-active role on the Weekee, mostly stopping Walri and Vandal attacks and returning from various vacations to save the Weekee from disasters.
One such Crisis was the "April Fools' Crisis" in April 2018. After April Fools' Day, a Box Dragon flew from Club Penguin to Eastshield where it wreaked havoc on the CPW. It attempted to make the CPW its home by hijacking usaboxenz from UsaPajers and dumping boxes all over the Weekee, forcing users to take refuge. After days of fighting a battle against the dragon with rollbacks and sysops, Kermit defeated the beast and restored order.
P.O.P.E. Benzin nominated and promoted Kermit to The Most Awesome in the USA on September 10, 2017, after much protesting for it in Eastshield and the Centriepistula. It came only six days after he saved the Weekee from the longest Crisis in Weekee history.
He was nominated for Sainthood by Weekee Users and Club Penguin residents shortly after, but he wasn't promoted to Saint until May 2018. While The Most Awesome, Kermit saved the wiki numerous more times, including from two more crisis'. He gained a lot of support during this time across Antarctica, from the Weekee, to Club Penguin, Chill Island, the Finipines, and elsewhere. The P.O.P.E. Canonized Kermit as a Governance Saint in the CPW on May 12, 2018, a day after he stopped another Weekee threat that had been ongoing since May 7th. He became recognized as a Saint in the CPW, Club Penguin, and Chill Island immediately, followed up shortly after by the rest of the USA and Shops Island, the Finipines, Amataria, Rusca, and more. See the Legacy and Honors section below for a list of places that currently recognize Kermit as a Saint.
The biggest controversy during his nomination was that he likes orange juice, a beverage despised by some for its usage by Khanzem 100 years prior. For this reason, he'll never be a Saint in Freezeland and it is unlikely in some other nations as well. However, Kermit has stated that he doesn't support Khanzem's usage of orange juice, and Kermit supporters have stated that the stigma around orange juice shouldn't stop him from being nominated 100 years later.
The HunEmpire was happy to recognize Kermit as a Saint in May 2018. Emperor Fredric von Hun made a statement that said "Kermit is a valiant warrior that should be recognized for his achievements as any Hunian would be." Much later, Kermit was made The Most Awesome in UnitedTerra by President Lofty, who personally liked Kermit because he's also green.
Through his short rise to power over just a few years, Kermit became famous across Antarctica. Many monuments, statues, holidays and shrines were established for Kermit in many countries, and he gained millions of fans. Notable for their different culture, some Japalandese Anime and Otaku Penguins have become obsessed with Kermit, wishing to marry him and honoring him in different ways.

Kermit's autograph is a very rare item that Kermit gave away for only a few weeks while visiting Club Penguin in 2014. Although low in value at the time compared to other celebrities like Rockhopper, Kermit's heroics involving the Weekee combined with the rarity of it have since raised the value to 2 million coins. Despite its high value, very few penguins are actually willing to sell them.
It is a must-have for Kermit fans and is considered the "holy grail" of Kermit collecting.
However, because Kermit enjoys orange juice, some High Penguins (and Constantine) are buying as many of his autographs as possible and burning them. This makes them even rarer for collectors and true fans, though hardcore Kermit fans would never sell their autographs to non-fans. HPs are often outbidded for the autographs by hardcore Kermit fans, leaving very few that get burned.
Similarly, counterfeit backgrounds are common to be seen, often produced by the Underground PWN Mafia or in the Darktonian Realm. Though, historians and true Kermit fans can easily tell the difference. Kermit himself has denounced the frauds.
Kermit also has a second lesser-known and even rarer background, which he gave exclusively to visitors of the Club Penguin Weekee during the celebrations for his birthday in 2018.
Legacy and Honors
There are many things dedicated to and named after Kermit, including Kermit statues in many places such as Chill Island and the CPW. The largest Governance-sponsored Academy in the Finipines was also renamed to St. Kermit's Academy in late 2018.
Kermit's Birthday, May 9th, was first declared as a Club Penguin Weekee holiday in 2018 since he had been the Weekee's mascot since late 2017. Unfortunately, the Weekee was under attack when they normally would've celebrated his birthday for the first time. After Kermit saved the Weekee, celebrations began, but were extended for a while after that.
Chill Island also recognizes Kermit's Birthday or "St. Kermit's Day" as an official holiday and celebrates throughout the month at the Kermit Party, with various Kermit-themed decorations around the island and plenty of orange juice. FreezeShop locations on Shops Island also celebrate the Kermit Party, with large discounts on their Kermit merchandise. Kermit Costumes are also commonly seen around the island during the Kermit Party.
Many other places also have official holidays for "Kermit's Birthday" or "St. Kermit's Day". Club Penguin declared May 9 "Kermit Day" in late 2018. The Finipines and other countries that celebrate "Saint Kermit's Day" usually have a feast in his honor, some with orange juice.
Due to saving the Weekee numerous times, Kermit quickly gained a large outpouring of support to become a Governance Saint in late 2017 and early 2018, even more than the late Marvin Lardner Monarch II. Kermit was officially declared a Saint of the Club Penguin Weekee by the P.O.P.E. shortly after his birthday in 2018. He went on to also be recognized as a Saint or "The Most Awesome" in many other places, quickly becoming the most widely recognized and celebrated figure in the Governance's history. It is also worth noting that he's the only P.O.P.E-appointed saint that Shops Island recognizes.
The following are places that currently recognize Kermit as "The Most Awesome" or a Saint, are considering recognizing Kermit in their lands, and those that have refused. Those that have refused to recognize Kermit as a Saint are often called "n00bs" by Antarcticans and "scrubs" by Shoppers and others. In return, they sometimes call the Antarcticans, Shoppers and others Naughtzees.
Since becoming famous, Kermit has become a pop culture icon across the continent. He has appeared in numerous TV shows, movies and video games, such as Kermit Quest and Super Smash Mates U.B.E.R.. Kermit was the first newcomer announced for U.B.E.R., appearing in the game's announcement trailer, which was met with massive positive fan reactions and many gamers immediately pledged to purchase the game when it was released. Kermit's inclusion also drew in many newcomers to the series. He was also quickly offered record deals once he became popular, so he could write and sing songs anywhere, whenever he wants. Concerts and shows he performs are usually free to attend.
After Kermit's first appearance on the island in 2014, he received a Card-Jitsu card in his honor featuring a portrait of him in front of his Weekee article as a level 3 water card. After his rise to fame, this card was later reissued as a level 12 power card with a more professional portrait done. To date, this is the only card in Card-Jitsu history to be recalled.
Some time in October 2017, a random meme of Kermit seemingly dancing sprung up on Chitter. It showed Kermit shouting something whilst raising first the right foot, and then the left. It earned quick popularity, gaining ten thousand views (mostly from Kermit fans, who came to see it over and over again) and re-Cheets of the same amount. The random footage was regarded as a great "that moment when <insert situation here>" meme for Kermit fans, and inspired many spin-offs, puns (the most renowned about "Kermit's PWNsome foot-age") and jokes. It took some time for the then-busy Kermit to actually find that he had his own meme, and fortunately for the penguin who first uploaded it, he approved of it. Whilst it isn't as popular as it once was due to it being severely overplayed, it can still be found regularly, being re-Cheeted on many Chitter pages, under the name "the Kermit Stomp".
The reason why it is tagged under the name "the Kermit Stomp" is because a random ballet teacher, who was a Kermit fan, saw the meme and decided to do the dance. Because penguins don't have long legs, it took a while, but eventually she perfected it, and posted the latest parody on Chitter. It was a huge success, and penguins came flocking to learn the dance; it was eventually called "the Kermit Stomp". Kermit also approved of this, and afterwards, special ninja-like outfits were produced to make convincing "the Kermit Stomp" performances.
