Klutz Cipher: Mind Demon is the 19th episode in the first season of Snowy Falls. The episode is the first part of a three-part season finale and season premiere. It was first broadcast on September 5, 2014, on Icey Channel, and on September 22, 2014 on Icey XD.

The series revolves around twins Jake and Cora Palms who are sent up to their great uncle John's place for the Summer. In this episode, Daniel finds out the code to the safe with the Mystery Igloo deed inside is only found in John's head, so he summons Klutz Cipher to invade his head and find the code, and Jake, Cora, and Deuce are out to stop him from getting the combination.

The episode met a 2.7 million viewer broadcast and received positive reviews.

Plot[edit]

The episode begins on a rainy day when John calls Jake and Cora down from their rooms to laugh with him at Daniel's commercial, but they simply give disgusted reactions and remark what Daniel had done to them in the past. Deuce and Lisa join the conversation and Deuce points out that's how they come together: the fact that they all hate Daniel. The commercial ends with the line "Come on down to the Igloo of Irregular! Opening soon at this location..." and we see the Igloo of Irregular dropped down on top of the Mystery Igloo.

When they think that there's nothing to worry about, they hear glass breaking and go to John's office to see Daniel has broken in through the window and is trying to find out the combination to the safe holding the deed to the igloo. John shoos him off and he runs away, swearing that he will get revenge and take over the igloo soon, but John doubts him highly. He goes back to his safe, takes a look at the deed, and puts it back in, saying that the only location he'd ever find the combination is in his brain. But Daniel might have one last trick up his sleeve for that...

Later in the pouring rain, Jake, Cora, John, and Lisa are watching a movie entitled Pen the Pookie, and Deuce runs in saying there is a bat in the kitchen, and John sends Jake to do it. Jake complains to John about being forced to do all the hard jobs, but John scares him into doing it. He is attacked by the bat off-screen and Deuce and Cora help repair him with medicine and bandages. After they are done and they walk off, Cora daring Deuce to see if he can lick his own elbow, John calls Jake to unclog the sink, angering him even more.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the forest near the Mystery Igloo, Daniel is getting his revenge on John by summoning a demon from Journal #2: Klutz Cipher, whom is a mind demon. While summoning, everything goes black and white and slow, and suddenly the shape of Klutz shows up, and the eye appears. Suddenly, in a flash, Klutz Cipher is there. He is a yellow crab with one eye and a bow tie and top hat, from the ending of the theme song. Klutz Cipher introduces himself, and reveals to Daniel he knows and sees everything after Daniel questions why he knows his name. Klutz Cipher even tries to hand him deer teeth from a nearby deer to prove his powers.

Klutz Cipher is given the task of invading John's mind and getting the combination out of his brain, with an unknown other side of the deal from Daniel. Luckily, Deuce and Cora ended up in the forest while trying to see if Deuce could lick his elbow, and managed to see the entire thing, and they go off to warn Jake. Klutz ends up in John's mind while they are talking about it, and so Jake uses an incantation from his journal to enter him, Cora, and Deuce into John's mind.

When they first enter his mind, they see a black and white place with the Mystery Igloo. They walk in to see a large void with lots of steps to places such as his memories, fears, etc. They end up in an encounter with Klutz, who introduces them and tells them what he is doing in there, and after they argue with him, Klutz heads off to find the memory of John's safe, and the others must get to it before he does. They look in every door to find something. Jake ends up going into memories about him, without the others knowing, and finds that many of the memories are of John bossing him around.

In one of the memories, Memory!John makes Memory!Jake chop some firewood, but he has trouble with it, and when Memory!Deuce asks him why he is hard on Memory!Jake all the time, he begins spilling. He tells Deuce that he's hard on him all the time because he's weak and pathetic and wants to get rid of him, saddening Jake.

Cora finds a door marked "TOP SECRET", but it ends up being John playing with his belly, grossing them out. Deuce gives out the idea of it being hidden, giving an example of John hiding arrest warrants under the rug in the gift shop of the Mystery Igloo, and they see a mat and find a trap door under it, showing the memory of the combination. After they find out the combination, they decide to destroy it, and Deuce offers help, only for him to use his arm to levitate it into the air. Another Deuce comes by saying he was watching a weird memory of John's, and the Deuce levitating the memory gives an evil laugh and turns out to be a shape-shifting of Klutz, who now has the memory in his own levitation.

Klutz flies off, and Jake walks up, telling them what happened and why he shouldn't bother helping save John, much to the others' unsatisfaction. While the others run off after Klutz, Jake walks off to look for an exit. Klutz is flying through the memories, holding the combination memory, and he gets a call from Daniel, who asks him if he got the combination. Klutz tells him to get a pen and starts to read the combination, but a dart gun hits the memory and it flies off into a memory of the bottomless pit from "Storytelling Pit of Doom", and falls in the pit. Daniel tells him that the deal they had is off, and he goes off to get into the safe on his own.

Klutz becomes red and super angry, and lets his rage out on Deuce and Cora. He grows super big and levitates a giant part of the brain (shaped like John's face) off into the air, preparing to attempt to destroy them. Meanwhile, Jake is still looking for an exit, but ends up in the same memory he was watching earlier. But before he can close the door, he finds out Memory!John wasn't finished. He hears that Memory!John was treated like that too, had to do boxing lessons, and was a wimp at his school. He found out once during a date to the movies, when someone tried to steal his date's purse and he punched the criminal with a specific move he learned, that his father was doing him a favor from the start.

Jake's feelings for John go back to normal, but he trips and falls into the memory. Memory!John tries to figure out what Jake is doing there, and summons a can of Space Cola. Jake asks him how he did that, and Memory!John tells him that he's in the mind. He can do whatever he can imagine. Jake then hears Deuce and Cora in trouble, and runs off. He flies up to Klutz, surprising him, and uses laser eyes to blow out an area around his bow tie (note: this is not the equivalent of killing, or even an injury).

Jake tells Cora and Deuce about the ability to do whatever they want, and so Cora shoots a bunch of puffles at Klutz, and Deuce shoots a bunch of question marks from his stomach. Klutz begins shooting a laser at them all, but they all create shields which reflect the lasers right at Klutz's eye. They then create a portal out of John's mind that tries to suck Klutz in, but he refuses that and wipes everything off except the characters, making the background white and everyone else float. Klutz lets them off with a warning, but admires how tricky they are. He disappears with his final lines: "I'll be watching you!", and they all begin to disappear too since John is waking up.

They all wake up in front of John, and rejoice in the fact they defeated Klutz, confusing John, until rumbling is heard. An explosion is heard to show that Daniel has blown up the safe to retrieve the deed and now holds ownership of the Mystery Igloo. He calls his father over with a construction vehicle and uses a wrecking ball to break down the igloo, scaring the now-outside Jake, Cora, John, and Deuce. The episode is left off at a "to be continued" in the credits with sad music.

Production[edit]

Klutz Cipher, this being his only physical appearance in Season 1, has also made cameos, normally by shape, in most of the previous Season 1 episodes, including the intro where he is flashed at the end.

Reception[edit]

"Klutz Cipher" received many positive reviews. Aunt Arctic of the Club Penguin Times praised the episode and the character himself Klutz Cipher. "It's amazing how far the show has gone and how sneaky they've kept their foreshadowing. The ending definitely kept me hooked and I can't wait for the second part next month." Aunt Arctic reviewed. "I also like the originality and simpleness of the Klutz Cipher character. It shows how they didn't want to put too much work into it. Thanks to the Icey crew for this wonderful show!"
