The disease that started the war was actually cured on November 15th, although the fighting still continued.

The Plague War was a rash invasion of the Melodeeves, spearheaded by Shops Island. Shops and Nexon declared war on the Melodeeves after a devastating Nexonan bio-weapon swept across Shops Island, and the Nexonans were quick to shift the blame to the Melodeeves, a nation they both hated. This and many other concurrent events sparked the quick conflict. Quickly after the war declaration, the Snowinians, at the moment called Victorians, joined Shops Island and Nexon, while Puffalia and Puffarus joined their communist advocate.

It was among one of the most controversial in Antarctic history, causing many deaths for a reason that could have been traced back to its actual roots provided more research was given. The whole conflict, even if there was no historical information collected, was viewed as absolutely useless. Many liberals state that the war was probably just an excuse for the "Shopper War Machine" to invade another nation, with its new rearmament program in full swing. Many state that the entire war was just poor judgement on the behalf of Shops Island.

After the Fall of Nexon, Shops Island had foolishly reconciled Nexon immediately after their war. Though Shopper citizens were still weary of the Nexonans, the government assured their citizens that Nexon no longer had a standing army, and was therefore no longer a threat to Shops' security.

While the Nexonan war was still in action, Nexon had developed a bio-weapon in hopes that they could wipe out all life in Shops Island slowly and painfully, by letting it go in Nexonan-occupied Goberna. The bio-weapon was configured to have traits which would result in such things as Insanity, Pulmonary Fibrosis, or, even at time, Total Organ Failure. These plans were supposedly destroyed when Shops used a Squarium bomb to eradicate the Nexonan stronghold on the state capital.

But, contrary to their beliefs, the bio-weapon had survived the explosion, though its genetic patterns were obscured greatly. The bio-weapon now had hallucinogenic traits, which later manifested to mental and circulatory problems. The disease soon spread, but nobody was aware of it until it infected penguins in CK Town, Southern Shops. The disease soon proved to be extremely contagious and problematic. The Shopper government was quick to appeal for help in curtailing the pandemic.

Nexon, well-aware that the disease was a manifestation of their creation, made up a lie stating that they had suffered something similar before, and that it had come from the Melodeeves. Shops, placing trust in their defeated counterpart, thinking that the Nexonans wouldn't dare tell a lie to them after the devastating war, blindly followed their statement.

Maybe if it hadn't been for Shops' concurrent rearmament and military growth after the Nexonan War, Shops would not have contemplated war. However, Shops' citizens were quickly growing a sense of nationalism. They wanted to prove that their military was the best. This led to the Common Legislature requesting a declaration of war on the Melodeeves. The vote was soon passed almost unanimously, in a highly questionable move.

The war declaration caused The Victorian Empire and its colony Sandila to join the bandwagon with Shops Island and Nexon. Subsequently, Puffalia and Puffarus joined their comrades, the Melodeevians, to fight against the capitalists. Everything was in place for an invasion of the Melodeeves that would, unexpectedly, be met with an amazing amount of resistance.

Approach to War[edit]

As soon as war was declared, Shops send its newly-built set of dreadnoughts, and its older warships and aircraft carriers to create a naval blockade around the Melodeeves, quite like the Allies had done to Yow before the Great Yowien War. The Shoppers hoped to starve the Melodeevians from the inside with this maneuver.

Meanwhile, Nexon was tasked with unfreezing all of its cryogenically-frozen clone army, to go to work in operating Shopper equipment, as Shops had more equipment and vehicles than soldiers. During the sea blockade, the communists focused on building up their weak militaries. Puffalia and Puffarus both built an army of small tanks.

The war drew the interests of a few other nations such as Munijoch, yet Shops and Victoria discouraged them from joining the war. Shops Island wanted the invasion to prove Shopper military superiority in the Asiapelago, while Nexon wanted to destroy the Communist nation and replace it with a capitalist one.

As the Red Shield Bank embezzled money from rival states, the Allied forces were ready for an invasion. Nexon's few colonies supported the Allied forces by giving financial aid.

Prior to the first strike on their enemy, the three leaders (Lavender, Vince, and Robert Smith) met at the Imperial Palace of Nexon. There they arranged a battle plan; they created a tactic called "Blitzkrieg". Blitzkrieg, or the "Blitz", was a tactical strategy which relied on preliminary air assaults, supported by large troops invading and occupying the surrounding areas. Their enemies didn't have a chance.

The War[edit]

In the days prior to the primary assault/invasion, many sets of weapons began to be shipped to vessels involved in the Shopper blockade around the Melodeeves. They had successfully cut off all unwanted intervention. The ships were being packed to help with the assault.

Meanwhile, the Shoppers had allowed Snowinian and Sandilian forces to prepare themselves for the attack on Moon Island. It did not take long before everything was ready, and the Shoppers, Snowinians and Sandilians were prepared for the Blitz. Though the invasion was originally supposed to happen on November 9th, it was postponed to the 12th to honor Soldiers' Day, an event held in many Anglophone countries to honor those who lost their lives in the Khanzem War.

As of the 12th, all of Shops', Snowiny's, and Sandila's forces were ready for an invasion. In the wee hours of the morning, Snowinian and Sandilian ships and aircraft made their way from Moon Island to a designated waiting area just south of Malesia. Shopper forces lined their navy up, backed by Nexonan clone soldiers, on the east end of Freezestonia, facing the Melodeeves.

The plan for the advance on the Melodeeves. Each Melodeevian flag represents one of their strongholds.

At 9:25 AM that morning, both belligerent forces began to move in. They passed the Shopper blockade without any problems. Ships in the blockade fired shells, which rained down on the Melodeeves. Shopper bombers and a few captured Yowien Sea Monsters pressed an aerial assault on key military targets, destroying anything they found as opposition.

The Melodeeves had created three military strongholds. One in Palé, the capital, another in Badda City, and another in the central islands which served as a strategic military concentration.

Their defenses were easily smashed as the Blitzkrieg pushed ahead with almost no formidable resistance. Many sets of Shopper Heavy and Super Bombers were sent to annihilate anything that posed a threat. Naval forces were in close pursuit.

Shopper Landing[edit]

The Shoppers were met with much resistance from the Melodeevians, who were trying to fend off their main opponent at all costs. The communists had dug in, ready to put up a fight against a heavily-pressed invasion.

Shops' northern division was headed for a strategic area not far from Palé. They were met with great resistance, as they fought Melodeevians who were sealed inside bunkers in the beaches. Hundreds of landing crafts poured to the battleground, releasing massive hordes of Shopper soldiers and Nexonan clones. More landing craft loaded with tanks were deployed. The tanks easily overran the bunkers. It took less than an hour to claim the beach as Shopper territory. Upon capturing it, one general remarked as such:

I sure hope we do not have to fight another war on another ugly beach.
— A Shopper general, in reference to the fact that most of their previous war on Nexon was fought on the beaches.

Down in the central islands of the archipelago, Shops' central division met little resistance as they steamrolled over anything that posed a challenge. Although it was a key military stronghold, preliminary bombing runs had been effective in softening up the Melodeevian defenses enough, so that a land claim would be easy.

The last division, the Shopper southern division, also had an easy time capturing Badda City with the assistance of the Snowinians and Sandilians. Though the Melodeevians had used the technique of digging into the beaches here, too, the southern division followed the northerners' footsteps by simply over-running bunkers with tanks. Now that Shops had captured their key areas, they began to bring in supplies.

Snowinian and Sandilian Landing[edit]

Melodeevian forces were generally occupied by the Shopper invaders, leaving an easy invasion for the Snowinians and Sandilians. All three divisions found it relatively easy to over-run the minute Melodeevian defenses that faced them.

Their northern flank mainly consisted of solely Snowinian troops. With the help of infantry, they pressed their way into a large island off Palé, claiming it for themselves. They were assisted by Shopper Heavy Bombers in their assault. The Snowinians were responsible for setting up permanent bases for further invasions.

The Central advance consisted of a mix of both Snowinians and Sandilians. They had a hard time overcoming the Melodeevian bunkers, even though there was very little resistance.

The Southern group was mainly composed of Sandilians. They were the last army group of the entire invasion to complete their task, taking up until noon to successfully occupy their sector.

Overthrowing the Central Melodeeves[edit]

A bust of both sides' advances during the climax of the Central Melodeevian overthrow.

Shopper, Snowinian, and Sandilian forces made quick work of creating stable bases on the beaches of the Melodeeves. The Melodeevians tried to hasten all the help they could; Puffalia and Puffarus' forces were finally coming to the Melodeeves' rescue.

Puffalian and Pufforuscan forces had soon positioned themselves just northwest of the stronghold. They, when ordered, were ready to attack. They eventually did, sweeping down to attack Shopper bases. The Melodeevians also swept south from their larger stronghold to attack Shops' largest base from the South, as shown in the image.

Snowiny and Sandila, in response, launched attacks on the two Melodeevian outposts, supported by Shopper fire. Shops had also used their dreadnoughts to open fire on Puffalian and Pufforuscan ships, severely hindering their attack. Invading communist forces were mowed down by machine gun fire from their enemies. Shoppers took pride in slaughtering their sworn enemies in the hundreds.

The battle eventually ended when the communists had become starved of ammunition and supplies. They soon fled to one of their last remaining strongholds between the battle scene and Badda City.

Nexonan Purge[edit]

Immediately after the battle of the central Melodeeves, political shifts and revolts in Margate and Nexon caused Nexon to lose all independence and/or autonomy from Margate. Under Margatian request, Shops turned on their ally and killed every Nexonan clone soldier who refused to surrender to Margate.

Temporarily, Shops' focused changed from fighting the Melodeeves to killing every Nexonan clone and destroying every piece of Nexonan equipment in their army. Their focus, however, soon changed back to their main objective.

Bombarding Badda City[edit]

Communist bases were surrounded and attacked.

With strategic bases in the central Melodeeves captured, many Shopper and Sandilian forces regrouped just amiss of Badda City, the Melodeeves' second largest city. The Communists had reinforced the island that Badda City was on. During the preliminary invasion, Shops had taken the island adjacent to Badda City, while Sandila had taken one to the northeast.

The invasion on Badda City was scheduled for November 16th. In the early hours of that day, Sandilians took off from their bases to capture the northern tip of Badda City island. Shops took off soon after to capture the capital from all sides in a pincer action. Sandilians pushed their way through the rest of the island, arriving a few hours after Shops had captured the capital.

For the next few days, Badda City was blockaded and bombarded with endless artillery shells. When the city was caught in the pincer movement, the generals had still refused to surrender. So, Shops and Sandila shelled the city non-stop until they had choked the communists out so that they couldn't hold out any longer. The communists officially surrendered in Badda City on November 19th.

Battle up North[edit]

The communists were attacked from all angles.

Communist insurgents began to re-amass their forces after they had lost Badda City to their enemies. They had called on reinforcements, and had built up a force larger than any of theirs prior.

The Shoppers, Snowinians and Sandilians quickly mobilized their northern army groups to wipe out their enemy threat. From their bases, the capitalist surrounded the enemy island before using Shopper dreadnoughts to bombard their bases. Once communist forces were weakened enough, they invaded, quickly taking many communist soldiers prisoner, and sacking their bases.

Final Assault[edit]

The communists are boxed in for the final assault.

After being defeated in their last stronghold, all remaining communist forces were persuaded to amass at Palé to fend off enemy attacks. The Shoppers, Snowinians and Sandilians, however, were already preparing for a major assault on their last target.

Pufforuscan ships were sent out to surround Palé island in a last-ditch effort to blockade the stronghold from enemy invasion. Shopper stealth bombers were used to fly under their radars and bomb out the battleships. Shopper submarines also took part in obliterating Pufforuscan ships, torpedoing them from below the waves.

Aircraft soon made their way through the communist blockade and into Malé, where they started to bombard the capital from above. Hundreds of tons worth of high explosives were dropped over a period of three days, heavily weakening their defenses.

On October 22nd, the Shoppers, Snowinians and Sandilians put their soldiers and machinery on landing craft which made their way to Palé island, escorted by fighters and warships. They made landings on the northern, southern, and western coasts of the island, from where they had to fight communist insurgents who were trying to fend off their last stronghold. Capitalist forces eventually began to push their way into the island after over-running communist bunkers and outposts.

Fall of Palé[edit]

Capitalist tanks, soldiers, and aircraft began the advance on Palé in the last step of their Blitzkrieg operation. Citizens and "freedom fighters" had barricaded the city, and put up a fierce fight for their motherland. The Snowinians got caught up in fighting these rebels while the Shoppers and Sandilians made their way into Malé, where every communist soldier was being put to work to defend the capital. Sandilians fought inside and outside local buildings, killing anyone that posed a threat.

The Shoppers became focused on fighting larger numbers of communists in other places. By now, most of Shops' forces had been recalled back to Shops Island because president Lavender stated that "the job had been done"; he was sure that Palé would fall. The remaining Shopper forces surrounded the government building, engaging in machine-gun firefights with the enemy. The battle for the government building eventually became a stalemate, so the Shoppers rolled in heavy artillery cannons, and shelled the government building from point-blank range; less than 100 feet away. The structure soon collapsed and Shopper soldiers began to search through the rubble, looking for government officials and generals.

Sandilian forces soon prevailed over their opponents, ousting the last resistance that the Melodeeves had to offer. White flags symbolizing surrender began to be flown around the city. In the morning of November 23rd, the last Melodeevian generals surrendered. Puffalian and Pufforuscans escaped behind enemy lines, fleeing back to their homelands.

Occupation and Colonization[edit]

After the Melodeeves had formally surrendered, Shops and Snowiny made quick work of splitting up the archipelago. Shops claimed the northern part, with Melodeevian oil fields in their possession. Snowiny took the southern half of the islands, where many of the luxurious tourist destinations were located. Any remains of communism were wiped away and replaced with civil reminders of capitalism. The occupation angered many of the Melodeeves' allies, such as Zhou and East Pengolia.

Margate Revelation[edit]

After the war had concluded, Margate finally told Shops Island that Nexon had created the bio-weapon that triggered the war, not the Melodeeves. Shops was furious. They immediately withdrew all previously-invested reparation funds for the Nexonans, and destroyed anything of Nexonan design that was in their possession.
