Skippy is a penguin who is considered a 'phoenix' because she is good with fire and was called "from the fire" since she hatched in a fire. When she becomes more in a phoenix state than a penguin state, her eyes turn red like magma, and she can wield fire with ease. She can spread her wings that catch fire. She created a group known as "The Phoenixes" for creepy hybrids like herself.

Skippy's parents are unknown. She was abandoned in an old shed on Tempest Island before she was even hatched. Her egg was unusually colored, black with red spots. A few months later, the shed caught fire, and Skippy was hatched, in her phoenix-like state. She got her name by a tourist seeing the chick in the ashes. This tourist nicknamed her "Skippy" and thought her parents would be close by, leaving her there. She grew up on her own, by adventuring around the forest she hatched in, eating plants and berries and making fires with her Fire Powers. At age 3, she made it to the town of West Fort. Some soldiers there taught Skippy to fish. With her new talent, Skippy decided to try it out in another place. 2 years later of fishing, making shacks out of branches, and adventuring, she arrived at the town of Frostshield. The 5 year old found an abandoned building and made it home. At age 8 she found out that getting a job would be better for her so she could buy things. She got a job as a waiter at a locally owned restaurant. This went on for a while. Now, Skippy, at age 15, made many friends during her travels and made a guild of Phoenixes. Only one penguin ever left this club, and this is Shade.
