Snowgo, also nicknamed the Snowy City is the largest city in the Happyface State, and third largest in the USA, with a population of 3,000,000. The surrounding metropolitan area has a population of over 10,000,000, is also the third largest metropolitan area.

History

The area that later became Snowgo was first settled by a Francterran in the 1780's, who built a farm. By the 1830's, a small town of 200 had been established there, and by 1840, the town's size had grown to 4,000. The town was incorporated in 1837, and was one of the fastest growing settlements in the High Penguin Confederacy. A large fire in 1871, but the city was quickly rebuilt. Though close to the border between the Good Guys and Khanzem during the Khanzem War, the city was safe from most of the battles. Snowgo also managed to be safe from the Antarctic Revolution, and by its end was the second largest city in the USA, after South Pole City. In the War of 2002, it was captured by Freezeland, and returned to the USA after the war.

Government

The government of Snowgo is divided into two branches, the executive branch, which consists of the mayor and his cabinet, and the legislative branch, which consists of the 50 member city council. The Snowgo Police Department is the law enforcement force and the Snowgo Fire Department provides medical and firefighting services. There are also two courts, the federal one, which is the only federal court in the state, and the state one.

Economy

Snowgo, being the largest city in the Happyface State, is the center of it's economy, and therefore has the largest and most powerful economy in the state. The city has the second largest engineering and science workforce in the USA. In addition, Snowgo is the third largest business center in the USA, with many companies having major offices there. The Snowgo Stock Exchange is the second largest in the USA, after South Pole City. Exporting and manufacturing also play large parts in the economy of Snowgo.
