Background[edit]
After Tim and Tom signed to Club Penguin Music Records, K.J. Soetum, the founder, chose six of the songs they had done already and told them to choose how many more songs they want to do, plus collaborations they wanted to do. They got to work immediately from April 2010. From April to November, they worked on their album in their mini-studio, named "Tim and Tom's Igloo Studio". Their Night Club shifts limited to Mondays, Fridays and Sundays only from 5-9pm everyday - but they were still being paid 250 coins each. In December 2010 they revealed some tracks that were to be on their album: "Dance2Night", "The Monster", "Distorting Base", "Grieve With the Beat", "Adulation" and "Tonight". Then on January 6, 2011, they revealed the name of their album on their Chitter - "TT House Mafia". Then in an interview with Aunt Arctic, Tom explained the name: "TT stands for our names, Tim and Tom. House Mafia is something that we used as a side-name at the Night Club. After we stuck to Tim and Tom fans still continued to call us The TT House Mafia."
On December 1, 2010, Tim and Tom decided to premiere a track from the album. They phoned Nebulent about premiering a song - who said that they should premiere "The Unstoppable", which featured him. It premiered on Prime's sister channel "Prime Extra". Many Nebulent fans listened to the premiere on December 7, 2010, who were highly anticipating a new song by Nebulent. The song became most discussed on Chitter and hit the Internet very quickly. The DJ duo wanted the song to be released as a single later in in 2011, but Nebulent suggested that it should be released as the lead single. Tim and Tom and the record label followed Nebulent's command.
In February 2011, three tracks were leaked onto the Internet: "Dance2Night" - only 50 seconds of the track was leaked, "Tonight" - 2 minutes of the song was leaked, at the time everybody though that it was the actual length of the song and "Grieve With the Beat" - the whole song was leaked. Tim and Tom didn't mind and said that "it happens all the time." At the end of the month, on their official PengTube channel, they uploaded two tracks off their album, with a promo cover of the album showing throughout the whole video - it read "TT HOUSE MAFIA: OUT SEPT 24, 2011!", to the left it showed part of the album cover, above it saying "Tim and Tom" with their logo and under the release date it said the name of the song. At the end of the month, Tim and Tom done a special radio broadcast on "Prime FM" for about an hour. In the first ten minutes they talked about the album, how the name came along and getting a record deal. As they went through each song, they talked about it for atleast 1-2 minutes, describing what it's about and how it came along. With the collaboration songs, they also talked about how they collaborated with that artist. The show revealed collaborations with DJ Crow, Meaghan, Cadence, GGD and the returned Nebulent. Straight after the show, they posted the tracklist of the album onto their official website. It showed that the album had 20 songs split as a double album. They wrote that they want four to seven to become singles.. Next to each of the songs there was a 30 second listen of each of the songs.
