Talk:Club Penguin Island
Very quick question
Would you consider CP a welfare state? I think not; you are not locked into one job, but you rather work more like a freelancer; completing certain jobs for money as needed. --refractor this is a thing<staff /> 17:18, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Yup! I removed the redlinks from the page, it should be much more enjoyable now.

The Penguin world is not connected to the human world; they never make contact and run on different systems. Penguins are forbidden to go to the human world beyond their physical capabilities.
Apparently in 2013, the page had listed the population at 180 million, which was silly. But, after that it was reduced to a measly 10 million, and was never adjusted. So, I think it's about time we come up with a proper population. According to this, Club Penguin had 1 million penguins in early 2006, 12 million in 2007 before they joined Disney- an unbelievable growth rate if you didn't see the proof. So, considering 2007-2009 were some of the most popular years, I imagine they'd gain another 10 million English penguins in 2008, and about 7 million more in 2009- 29 million by the time 2010 started. It doesn't have to copy CP's decline and loss of players, since CP is supposed to be one of the best cities in Antarctica. Adding a few million every year to date, I'd suggest somewhere around 40 million, on the english servers, so not counting French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Russian. What do you think about the overall population, and numbers for the foreign servers?
Speaking of the Russian and German servers (which are closing irl in September), I think they should still exist in continuity, what do you think about that? WannaTalk? 20:38, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Also a note- the originally population was nerfed because of how dense the population would be, "even with servers", but I just checked and there is a total of 380 normal servers (not "special secret" servers; all languages- there's 155 in English), that'd be like 380 towns & cities. Also now that I think of it, that'd just be the traditional servers too, doesn't include the other servers types- so there's literally infinite space to have servers and spread out the population (though I agree the original 180 mil. was overboard). - I've never seen the Server concept properly integrated into Fanon Club Penguin, or maybe that's just been me disregarding the servers and thinking 10-15 million is a reasonable population for Club Penguin. You do have a point about CP being a top city, the USA article even states it's the fourth biggest city. Something just below 40 million would sound fine to me. Perhaps reach a final figure once comparing the populations of the 3 most populated cities before CP. And speaking of those cities, South Pole City is supposed to be the "largest city" [I'm guessing in terms of population] yet its population stands at 23 million. If Club Penguin's population were to change it would certainly affect a bit of continuity of articles. Either we change the continuity or only boost CP's population up a few million. As for the foreign servers, they really don't seem that prominent in terms of Fanon concept, or make sense to me [why would other countries control certain USA-based servers?] Maybe if the concept was remodelled I'd say let em stay. Bottom line: The Server article as a whole needs reworking + expansion and we gotta consider continuity for the pop. -- ¤ (User page!) (Talk page.) 22:48, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
