Protagonist's Name?

After a countless amount of time searching generic unisex names for the protagonist of this game (ten seconds or so), I've narrowed it down to either Ashley or Robin. Yes, they are unisex. No, I swear its a concidence that they are also names of Nintendo characters.mYes, the names already are characters, but they have been in "construction" for a comparatively long time now. If this is wrong, just suggest a generic unisex name for the protagonist (please avoid using "Player", "Protagonist" or "Penguin" or some variation of either of those three as a suggestion) and if I find it fitting, I'll put it up for votes.

Race

Maybe for a twist ending, we. Could reveal that the three main characters were dreaming the events of this game all along, and there's a race between the three of them, each in different vehicles, to decide who leaves the dream world. There would be a different ending each time depending on which character you chose, oh and there's special requirements to unlock the other two characters, so you are forced to win as the main protagonist the first time. --Mr Cow2 (talk) 14:23, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Here is how I initially thought the characters in the main campaign should be distributed. Other characters could appears in their own DLC missions. Characters in italics can only be used on Free Mode and characters in bold font are playable from the stage they are unlocked in. Don't worry about characters such as Darktan. It's time travel, everyone!

• Stage 1-2

• The mysterious leader, The Director

• Stage 1-3

• The captain, Rockhopper

• Stage 1-4

• The reporter, Aunt Arctic
• The bear, Herbert

• Stage 2-1

• The bomber, Explorer
• The professor, Shroomsky

• Stage 2-2

• The dark one, Darktan

• Stage 3-1

• The light, Kerboom
• The gadget guy, Gary

• Stage 3-2

• This guy, Jack Frost

• Stage 4-1

• The multiverse traveler, Star
• The engineer, Amigopen

• Stage 4-2

• The single female villain that isn't a DLC character, Questisbak

• ( ! ) Stages 5-1 to 5-3 introduce new characters, but instead of being a plot point you may unlock those guys randomly (They can't be here if they star in their own DLC Mission). ( ! )
