Update

Now the template updats to show a different notable CPFW character every day of the week, canonical and non-canonical.

• Sunday = Rockhopper
• Monday = Mabel
• Tuesday = Tails6000
• Wednesday = Billybob
• Thursday = Swiss Ninja
• Friday = Explorer 767
• Saturday = Clovis

Future of The more you know?

This template has been really neglected since 2012. It has only been edited three times since 2012, which is plain stupid for something that is on the main page, something that directly represents the wiki. So, my question is, what are we going to do about it? Updating it once isn't gonna help anything. We need to plan out a long-term solution so this inactivity spree doesn't happen again. Other than this being on the main page, it is so important because if a user comes here and sees the same information on the main page month after month after month, whether it's DYK (did you know), featured user, featured image, etc, they will automatically judge this wiki as either abandoned, or plain lazy. Here are some of the ideas I have, although I think everyone should pitch in their ideas so the community can choose the best future for this template, and the future on the main page.

• We could remove this altogether, and find something else to put on the main page to replace it with. However, we'd then have to be willing to update that new feature often, more than likely.
• The admins could say they'll update it every week like they're supposed to. However, I highly doubt they will stay true to their statement after a few months. They may just get lazy, or life could be getting in the way.
• An option I personally like, maybe we could unprotect this template and let certain active people update it each week. Rollbacks, as example, or just a normal user for that matter. People could still request stuff to be put on there, but the actual job of updating the template would be given to a certain person. If that person becomes inactive or something, the admins could revoke their right to update the page, and assign the job to somebody else.

• Although there technically wouldn't be any way to prevent any user from editing the template this way, we could just warn people not to do so.

If we do decide to keep this, a minor change I'd suggest, is moving this template to "Template:Main Page/DYK" or something like that to make it easier to find. WannaTalk? 04:28, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

I can try and put in new info every week, but it will be difficult to think up of them, because I won't be sure what I should put in them, but regardless, I'll try. --not amigopen 07:45, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
