TS mentioned in an earlier blog post that my posts are too depressing. I'll try to make this post as not depressing as possible, because I'm scared it will be.
So....I was roaming around the wiki. There's lots of interesting stuff on the wiki if you click the random page button. Thankfully, the page that appears are usually those that have no quality tags. Some like G Stage and so forth came up. Interesting. This wiki has four thousand articles-there's loads to explore.
One of the random articles that showed up was Magyaria. A country, I guess. I read the article and I found out it was a parody of Hungary. Then, I clicked the Countries category and started roaming around. I started to search up for parodies of countries. This was when I realized there has been an inflation of country parodies that are not needed.
I mean, sure, country parodies are cool. Pengolia's great! Snowzerland's cool. But then there seems to be loads of parodies that are not needed. Why not just merge these parodies? Like how Link and Pit don't have separate parodies-instead, the parody's Lit. There just needs to be one article that could possibly represent that region/continent.
Here's the list in which I thought the parodies were not needed.
Asaina- Batavia
- Goverua
- Japaland
Macradonia- Maustralia
- Pufflaniola
Slumolia- Slushia
- Liguria
- Holyswissia
- Honk Gong
There seems to be a lot of European country parodies. These are colonies of Snowzerland. All of them are large islands. Could these countries instead be states? It would be a better idea in my opinion, so as to conserve the amount of space on the map. As for Honk Gong, Asaina and Japaland, I'll incooperate them into MAI. Many references to China have already been in-cooperated into MAI.
I like the Antarctic universe to be unique and diverse, not parodies of other countries. Some unique and special countries could be parodied, like Switzerland or Singapore. USA and UK have to be parodied due to their existence. As for the rest, I'm not sure.
I hope that this doesn't sadden or worsen anyone's mood. I think it will, so I apologize for all inconvinience caused.
UPDATE:
I've cancelled several countries whom I think could be off the list due to its uniqueness. I think we should group countries in a certain area together, like instead of making separate China and Hong Kong parodies, we could have them in one small country. I'm doing the same with MAI-I'm trying to make it more of a Southeast Asia parody, but with Singapore as a central focus. This was not the idea I had, but after pondering over it, I realized that Antarctica's running out of space, and not many are taking Nothing seriously.
