Ok, so I'm guessing not many people missed me while I was gone. On Sunday evening I had this burning feeling in my stomach, and it felt as if I was starving. I jammed a bunch of food into my mouth (carrots, Gold Fish, Cheetohs), but then I had a stomach ache! Later that night I puked up everything inside of me, but still felt terrible. I continued to puke, and my parents became worried. The worst sign came when I was actually willing to go to urgent care in my pajamas and slippers! At urgent care they had me go-to-the-bathroom in a cup, and they tested the "lemonade". Then they also took a blood sample. They prescribed me to some medicine, to take twice a day. As I took the medicine, my condition seemed to get even worse. Finally, on Wednesday night, my parents took me to the ER. My pain was, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being the worse) a 8. Despite being the last of 6 people in there, I got in first! They put me in a room, hooked me up to an IV, and prepared for another "lemonade" test. After a couple of hours, around 11:00pm, they took me away to get an ultrasound to see what was going on with my intestines. As soon as the magical wand was put on my belly, we saw a BIG black blob where my appendix should be. Very soon, we knew for sure that my appendix had been contaminated, grew VERY large in size, and was perforated! That meant that my appendix was leaking toxins into my surrounded body, and causing lots of pain. I was soon prepared for emergency surgery. About 20 minutes later I think, one of the surgeons came in, and wheeled me to the surgery room. Once in the surgery room, they put me to sleep, and next thing I know I wake up in a dark room, staring at a machine showing different statistics. I was really whoozy from the medicine, and because I didn't have my glasses, everything was very blurry. A nurse wheeled me out, we met up with my parents, and then off to a recovery room. By then probably everyone on Facebook with connections to my parents knew of my situation, and there were a lot of prayers for me. The recovery took FIVE brutal days! I didn't eat, hardly drank, and hardly moved. I started puking a lot, so they stuck a tube UP my nose, and down my throat to my stomach. The tube made it impossible for me to speak, which is hard when you're trying to tell your parents to do certain things. That tube REALLY got on my nerves. On the second-to-last day, they pulled the tube out of my nose. I started feeling much better. The last day they pulled a drain out of my left side, which was a really, really, REALLY painful and weird experience (just think of a worm sliding through your butt). Finally, I was able to go home. I'm still recovering from my surgery, but I feel so much better with my appendix removed. I now have a craving for lot's of flavor, since I didn't have many tasty things to eat in the hospital. I'm staying close to the bathroom, and relaxing while my body gets use to this medicine I'm taking, and the fact that a piece of it is missing.
