Montrealm

Dear Sanchonachos,

Since my characters in Travelling All of Antarctica are already in Montrealm, can you please make the scenes when Sancho gives them the tour of the town. I am assuming that you've been there since you live in Toronto and since you are Canadian, and since you know more about this than I do. I'll continue writing about them leaving for Torona, which you can help with me too.

The lounge for CP Airways and SkyJet have the same name. I'm not sure if this was intended but I know no airline that shares the same lounge name (copyright reasons of course) or even shares the same lounge. However, we, under no circumstances, can allow for airplanes to crash into tha tbuilding. Remember that all references to 9/11 are explicitly forbidden on the grounds of patriotism and out of respect for the lives lost.

Even if no one died, we can't permit that.

HOWEVER, there is nothing that should stop us from parodying the Pentagon. We should base the PIA, CNIC, AIA, AIB, PPT, and every secret agency except the EPF in the building, because the EPF is canonically locked to Club Penguin, the Command Room.

Instead of a hexagon, why not a SEPTAGON instead? That's a shape with SEVEN sides! See?

Everyone knows what a hexagon and an octogon is, but no one knows what a SEPTAGON is! (A nonagon is a NINE sided shape. A decagon has ten. :P)

Good idea... -but there isn't an island or a river in or near South Pole City. Explorer knows that place's geography and I don't, but I DO know that Howler Canyon is to the south. Ask Explorer for a good place to put it.

Also, let's shake things up. People THINK that there is a conspiracy to seven sides, but in reality, the only reason it has seven sides is that there are seven for each item oused: AIA, AIB, PPT, CNIC, and three others yet to come. The joke is that there is no conspiracy in a world that there normally is.

Polaris

Dear partisan,

Can Frankterre peacefully annex Polaris into their country? They will still be able to leave the territory without customs and will be able to keep their USA citizenship. Only the city of Polaris and it's vicinity shall be taken. It's small enough that a Map change is not needed. A proposed logo has been made. (I've seen this on several french cities)

Polarian history proposal: STEP ASIDE FOR THE KINGFISH OF LOUIS- I MEAN POLARIS

Sancho, I had a brilliant idea about Polaris that I thought I would share with you.

To sum it up, here's a passage I cut from Nancy Nectar at the last second:

“	We have ties dating back to the 1900s in Polaris, our people having built the previous City Hall, laid roads and highways, and tons of infrastructure by near-dictorial edict. It was corrupt to consolidate all that power, but hey, the ends justify the means, you know? This is Polaris, after all.	”

Let me run it down as a list.

• At the turn of the century and leading up to the 1940s Liberal turnover, the Necisties were the string-pullers behind the conservative-owned Polarian government. Like RL Louisiana, before the Necisties, the place was a po-dunk, dirt-road village with a lot of prospects but no funds.
• In 1913, following Khanzem, the Naughtzee appointed various puppets to govern their conquered territory, dissolving every High Penguin institution and setting up new governments to do whatever Whoot wanted them to do.
  • The puppet ruler of Polaris and its surrounding areas was Kingfish1932 Necisty, called "Kingfish" for short, who was, of course, a Naughtzee. However, Kingfish wasn't too evil, despite being a Naughtzee. He saw the plight of Polaris' people and their lack of infrastructure, and used his absolute Naughtzee power to drag the city kicking and screaming into what was then modern times.
  • To the sounds of rejoicing crowds, Kingfish used High Penguin slave labor to pave roads, lay highways, upgrade sidewalks, plant stuff, build buildings, and everything under the sun.
• Kingfish's Naughtzee regime built the original Polarian City Hall, called "Naughtzee Assembly Tower". (Connery Square was pre-1913.) To this day, NAT is the nineteenth-tallest Polarian building, though there are ten skyscrapers set to pass it in 2011 alone, twenty due by 2020. It's also still the tallest wooden building in Polaris and is forbidden from being torn down by the liberals by national law. (Disobeying the decree will result in the revocation of the Polarian City Charter. This deal was accomplished by- you guessed it -the Necisties in 1921, in a deal with Julius Scissors and is binding to all successor states of the realm that agreed to it, including the USA.)
  • The current City Hall was commissioned by the new liberals in 1945 with overwhelming support by the entire newly leftist government. They did it to move on from their "horrid past" and said it was an attempt to erase the Naughtzee from Polaris. The NAT is now a government building for the BORNE, HOLINESS, and Polaris' Municipal Judge(s), as well as the 23rd Federal Circuit, and the 11th Eastshield State Circuit. (All of their courts in one building!)
• Kingfish, being a Naughtzee, ruled the area with an iron fist, but most of the people adored him. He was seen as a visionary and revolutionary, and was allowed to continue reigning until 194
• Polaris' oldest airport was a Kingfish production. Until 1945, when Polaris did its anti-Naughtzee purge, the airport was called "Necisty Landing".
• To this day, Polaris has several "Kingfish Lanes", "Kingfish Parks", and yes, a "Kingfish City Hospital". Nancy Nectar usually sneaks amendments and riders into bills keeping the Kingfish stuff from being renamed. ;)
• A large, bronze statue of Kingfish Necisty also exists in Polaris, but it was hidden from view, intentionally, when the Polaris City Council built a tower for SkyJet Airways. To cover the rest of it, a housing block shaped like a [, mysteriously lacking windows to face the statue, obscure it. (The statue was not torn down because Nancy and the Necisties meddled with bureaucracy and corruption to keep it in existance.)
• Polaris constantly discovers new Kingfish/Necisty items and tries to remove them. Normally, they fail at removing them, so they just hide them. (If Nancy voted against these "cloaking" attempts, people that actually care would get suspicious.)
• Kingfish was banished from Polaris in 1945, when a populist uprising stormed the NAT and caused your Liberal Revolution. Kingfish was bound, gagged, and thrown out of town by force. An election was held and your first Liberal Mayor won. (The name of the leader was changed from Supreme Governor to Mayor, because of their anti-Naughtzee reforms.)
  • Kingfish never returned, and died in 1985.
• In modern times, opinions of Governor Kingfish vary. Generally, the poorer the Polarian, the more he or she is likely to be a Kingfish fan, regardless of if they are a liberal or conservative.
  • Even the liberals acknowledge that Polaris couldn't be as advanced or well-connected without Kingfish's slave-built highways, ports, harbors, airports, and stuff. (They also secretly admit that the NAT is a wonderful piece of architecture.)
• ...-and more...

So, basically, I want to take 1913-1944 in Polaris and parody Huey Long and his dictorial reign over Louisiana. Most of what made Polaris what it became was built by Kingfish and covered up (and then improved upon) by the Liberals. Approving the Kingfish Era will add more data to the PCC article, the Polaris article, and give me another Necisty member to have fun with.

It'll provide a facinating backdrop for Polaris and would not alter the post-1945 liberalism you added in. In fact, it would amplify it because Kingfish was thrown out by a Liberal revolt.

So, what say you, Sancho? ^_^

The Kingfish Complex.

I see. I'll take that into mind. However, you seem to have made a mistake. Well, allow me to explain the wooden Kingfish Complex. You see, Connery Square was the government of podunk Polaris before Kingfish. The Square, as you said, was a Woolworth Building-esque building of stone. Back then (1915), it was one of the tallest buildings in the village and its pride and joy.

Kingfish's desire to stimulate and "fix" Polaris led to the construction of the Kingfish Complex, which was a wooden tower made of levelled forests and steel supports. Now, I don't know how big your Polarian skyscrapers are, but the capitol is a behemoth, towering thirty four stories tall! (I bet that's tiny by Polaris now, but oh well.)

Now, the Kingfish Complex was the capitol for may years but was supplanted by your building. Between 1917 and 1945 (or more), this was where the Polarian action was at. So, between your revolt (1945) and the Harborfront (2005), I'll leave to you.

As for the Kingfish and Necisty-named stuff, I guess that the people in charge of naming either don't know about it (really big city), don't care (bread and circuses), don't want to anger the poor (Kingfish is loved by the poorest), or don't want to ruffle the conservatives' feathers (they respect Kingfish).

Between 1913 and 1945, the democratic process of Polaris was mostly destroyed because of Kingfish's consolidation of power. You see, everyone got into office by virtue of Kingfish's monetary support, because he controlled the campaigning systems, and everyone stayed in that office because the Polaris Council was a rubberstamp legislature that gave Kingfish everything he wanted, including the ability to hire and fire everyone that isn't elected at whim.

One note, though. Until 1945, when Kingfish was couped, he ran unopposed and had high approval ratings among the common penguin. The rich hated him and the HPs (still) spit on his grave. The Liberal Revolt was led by rich elitists, and the poor were easily convinced and given their bread and circuses, so long as they happily voted Polarian Democrat.

At the peak of his power, in the Snowman Anarchies of the 1930s, Kingfish had the legislature rubberstamp him the authority to rewrite the Polaris City Charter. When the Liberal Revolution occured, Kingfish's City Charter was replaced by a new constitutional convention. It is because of Kingfish that Polaris has such a strong separation of powers.

Kingfish's political party was called the Populist Consolidation Party, which is the predecessor of the now weak Conservative Action Party. (The CAP actually uses the name PCP within its own walls, and Nancy calls herself, in private, a PCP member.)

Aww. Are you sure that the Kingfish Complex has to be burnt down and the steel harvested for scrap? (It's a mostly wooden building.) I mean, it has plenty of functions and stands as a gargantuan eyesore to Polaris' conservative heyday. I really think you should consider letting the courts, conservative items, remnants, bureaucrats, the BORNE, the HOLINESS, and lesser governing institutions stand in the Kingfish Complex.

I actually based the Complex off of the Louisiana State Capitol, but I added the extra two towers, the sloped roofs, and the pillars as part of Nazi architecture. Hitler liked really tall buildings with large windows and pillars, with Roman-style exteriors. (The pillars are marble, but again, most of the building is wood.) As for the poles sticking out of the top of the rooves, I based that off of the running gag of subtle church references (like steeples or crosses) that adorn TurtleShroom-esque items. The "P" always stands for "Polaris" and the "N" for "Necisty". (Ever noticed the "N" on the South Pole Capitol? Coincidence?)

The building is intended to look different and stand out (that's why it's more wood than glass/steel/stone), and Kingfish's general disdain for the environment felled most of the forests near Polaris. (Pollution is the cost of civilization to him.)

I think that the shadier parts of Polaris, including businesses, banks, and what-not should have a place in the Kingfish tower, along with all the courts (even though they are packed with liberals in this city). A running gag could have the judges comment that. :)

Seriously, though, I put a lot of thought into that building and hope that you can allow it to stay as a permanent piece of the past that Polaris is having trouble ridding itself of. (Well, that and all the stuff named after Kingfish.)

Well, if the government owns the Kingfish Complex, I guess that makes plenty of sense. However, what if, seeing the fall of such a historical landmark, a private trust bought the building (thus saving it), and then leasing it back to the Polarian government, since the old courthouses were bulldozed for skyscrapers?

Even better, what if TurtleShroom (or one of his family members) has inherited the Kingfish Building because the last Necisty of the Trust died, and thus, ownership of the building passes to "a recent Necisty"? I think that MobileShroom or Hermeshroom could inherit the tower, or they could transfer the property to Holyberden (since RL companies can own properties in the company name, e.g. Wal-Mart owning a house) to be managed and paid by the company's profits.

Also, since Kingfish is still beloved by many small-time/poor/lowly Polarians, shouldn't that mean they'd rally to defend the Kingfish Complex? Like most old and big cities, aren't there little clubs of people that try and save "treasured buildings" from the hands of development?

I have trouble grasping the fact that Polaris is all like "Hey! Let's demolish this thirty four story, famous wooden skyscraper where this city was governed from for fifty/sixty/seventy/eighty years (1917-1980 or more) and put ANOTHER stupid glass tower on top! yeah, and we'll shred all the historical records inside and no one will care! After all, it's just an icon and symbol of our past and a significant building that shaped city life as we know it for most of the twentieth century!". Most every city has respect for its oldest buildings. Why doesn't Polaris?

I came up with an idea! Polaris can be moved to an island! Like Snowzerland! Except, this island will be about 38 miles away from the Eastshield Coast near a major port city...which would be about the distance from Catalina to the California Coast. It's the only way for independance. Oh, also, Polaris island will have other islands on it as well

I have no problem with you choosing to be gay - but there it is again - a discussion on homosexuality. Before I get into any discussion, CP fixed this problem by ensuring they do not mention it. For all we care, Rockhopper and the rest could be gay, straight etc. Subtle mentions of homosexuality aren't needed. P.S.: There are therapies and counseling sessions designed to help you overcome your urges.
