RE: Lexi

Rocket Slug, Lexi is a VERY good article so far. However, there's a few questions that must be answered if the article is to stand as it is.

In real politics, a princess is the daughter of a reigning king or queen. They can be the heir to the throne (if they're thye oldest), or a sibling of the heir (and still a prince or princess). Either way, though, they are the children of a king or queen.

The question is unsolved and must be done for Lexi to remain the offspring of a monarch: what is she the princess of?! Every princess has a king and a queen for parents. The king and queen actually govern something (or sit pretty as a figurehead), and when they die, the royal family gets it.

So, answer me this:

• What is Lexi the princess of?
• What are Lexi's parents the king and queen of?
• Is she the eldest royal family member, and thus next in line to the throne?
• Is she even a real princess?
• Why is she in the Happyface State?
• Where does she come from?
• Is she ready to face the challenges of governing when her parents give out?

Further, if she's a real princess, she'd actually be raised to be a proper and kind young lady (uhh, penguin), told to respect manners and common folk, and do the right thing for her country.

THIS BEING SAID, being placed in the common bird's school would certainly be a total shock to her system, and she would undoubtedly have serious issues fitting in at first, but if she is a real princess, she wouldn't be a spoiled brat to the laymen... -but if she's not...

NOW FOR THE PRAISE.

I really, really like the idea of taking a character and putting them in a totally different world to them. The idea that she speaks formally (good day) and is forced to deformalize and correct herself (what's up?), as well as taking genuine interest in a commoner's pasttime (video games) makes for a really well-rounded and developed article, which is already a MQA 3. This feat has not been tried on the CPFW before, so it's always nice to see it.

P.S.: For a similar situation to Lexi, try watching the movie "Princess' Protection Program". Say what you may, but just because it's a Disney Channel Original Movie does NOT make it bad automatically. It is actually a very entertaining and down-to-earth movie with a unique plot twist and very good acting. Selena Gomez does some of her best work in it.

Where are you?

Rocket Slug, your inactivity makes me feel lonely. When you get backstabbed by a chunk of the wiki and voted against in good faith by the rest, you do feel alone. Although, the fact that the backstabbers have mostly repented and have moved on and the fact that most who voted "Demote" did so in good faith does make me feel better.

You are one of my favorite authors, and I keep noticing that you are becoming increasingly inactive as time ticks on. If this is something that can not be helped, then so be it. This being said, if you can muster the ability to come on every day, as I do, it'd be nice. What exactly is your schedule? I can't seem to figure out what time zone you live in, nor when you come on the Wiki.

You're also never on the IRC, and I'v been wanting to do something with Veranda for ages.

You're one of my favorite users among all those who work with me, and I want you to come on more often, as often as you can, even, because I wait for your work, and languish every sentence you give.

I don't know why I give all this credit to you, but I do, and I adore all of your work. Regardless of what you think of yourself, I consider you Corai and Pufflezzz's successors, and since those two ahve ceased to exist, I truly want you to fill their role by coming on every day.

The Golden Age we had in the opening days of 2011 are decimated, and writers' block is taking its toll. If you can come back, that'd be wonderful.

If Keziah is supposed to be a female penguin equvalent to Mister Vasquez, then she'll need a proper brown-and-black recolor, some messier hair, cowlicks, and a mischevious "I'm thinking about screwing some censors over today" smirk that just emits a general dark-but-nonetheless-mischevious look.

As such, I edited your image. Don't kill me. After all, James the Pseudocidal Maniac is an article for another day. By the way, pseudocide is faking's one own death. So, a pseudocidal maniac would pretend that he's dead/he'd disappear multiple times, most likely for INSURANCE FRAUD.

Unlike the disgustingly blackhearted adventures of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (which really reveal a lot about the unholy man behind Zim), James the Pseudocidal Maniac will make millions off of constantly faking his death for the insurance money and going through all sorts of different names, A-Z.

Telling your father off with that kind of dark sass will doom you and your interests forever. You're not a brat. Don't look like one to him. Ask, with respect and courtesy, why he thinks IZ is bad for you, and after he speaks, courteously give him your reply. Lemonade Mouth parody, anyone?

RS, I saw the first hour or so of Lemonade Mouth and listened to their Determinate track for a literal five hours, courtesy of me having to do all that math I need to get done.

When all was said and done, though INSPIRATION STRUCK.

I had an idea for a similar "save our [item]"/"rebelling against the establishment that favors one thing" exhibited in Lemonade Mouth.

Essentially, it works like this. The setting is Polaris, in all its leftist glory.

There is a small business in the heart of the corrupt city's banking area, a little building only one story high and occupying about as much space as a convienence store. The business is not a bank, but a credit union. It's called "Holy Mel's Righteous Credit Union", or "HMRCU", and it's the parody of the lemonade company with the basement vending machine in the movie. Its owner, nicknamed "Holy Mel", also manages other HMRCUs in the CPW, Mattress Village, Snellville, and Gemini. The bank caters to anyone in those cities.

Credit unions are non-profit banks that take any profit and put it back into the bank money so that they can give lower loands, interest, etc. . The main point is that credit unions see themselves as morally superior to banks. People love their credit unions, and they all claim that they're "people, not profit". Naturally, Polaris doesn't like this.

Fortunately (at the strart of the story) for the bankers of Polaris, HMRCU is not very well known and only has a clientele of a few hundred.

Enter Stella's parody. She's a small-town girl who wants to move to the big city to make something out of herself; she wants to "be known", to "be somebody". While she's good to her parents, she has a rebellious streak a mile long when it comes to governments, schools, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc., and yes, she had a "Question Authority" rag T-shirt on when she came to Polaris.
Stella's parody immediately sees the corruption in Polaris, and is sickened by it. She tries to put it out of her mind as she goes about her life, but the more she wonders around, the more she sees the corruption.

Stella's parody goes to a Polarian indoctrination/brainwashing facility school, only to see just that: brainwashing. In this particular school, teachers are required to teach how great and wonderful Polaris is, and how as long as YOU'RE happy, the government doesn't matter, etc. . Or, in other words, they have to teach the chicks to ignore what their government's up to, because , as they claim, it doesn't matter. After all, they give the chicks all they need and want, so who cares if they also buy yachts with tax money? Right? ....RIGHT?

Stella's parody immediately stirs a ruckus, so the teachers send her out in the hall to calm down. This is when we meet the parody of the school administrator. He's not the principal, but rather, the penguin in charge of this school district, and thanks to the bankers owing him "some favors" for making some teacher retirement funds "vanish", he's also in charge of that banking area, which includes HMRCU.

To continue, we see Principal Parody (PP) verbally harrassing a much, much smaller penguin. This penguin is a member of the Polarian Federal Bureau of Objective, Righteous, and Neutral Education, or "BORNE". The BORNE penguin is the parody of the band teacher. He (or she, haven't decided) is picked on and pushed around by Principal Parody. In fact, the entire BORNE group assigned to this district is picked on by PP.

They are unable to do what they were meant to do because of PP's skills. The BORNE is not effective in this place. PP has it smushed under his flipper and keeps it from doing anything, especially its job to make schools neutral and pure.

That's called regulatory capture. It's when a government agency designed to keep something in check is taken over by THAT VERY SOMETHING. So when it's taken over, it no longer has the power to keep the thing in check, because the thing CONTROLS IT.

PP continues harrassing the BORNE/Band Teacher Parody (BTP) penguin and walks off triumphantly. Stella's parody feels great sympathy and goes over to meet BTP, asking why he/she was treated like that. BTP explains their job (the BORNE is supposed to prevent schools from indoctrinating and to provide clean, pure, non-biased education) and a brief history, then talks about PP's oppression. Stella is stunned, to say the least. She wants to fix it, but how?

Later that evening, Stella's parents are equally frustrated with the corruption in Polaris, but not because of the school. No, they're ticked at the banks. The banks were non-personal, backlogged, slow, and even sort of mean to them. They charged outrageous fees for economic stuff that I won't talk about because it'll bore you, and in the end, they just said "to heck with that" and left the bank. They need that money though, because all their paychecks and accounts are back home. Stella tells them about the school, and now the whole family's ticked. Stella's parents try to file complaints to the Polarian Government, but the bureaucrats they get laugh at their complaints: "You must be conservatives. Go back to your farm, or move into the cruddy red enclave.".

As such, they call a worker in the "red enclave". They get a chick. He's not a worker, he's just there because it was "Take Your Offspring to Work Day". Enter the first parody of one of the other band members. Stella takes the phone to sum it up (she's a really good speaker), and when she gets to the banking part, the future band kid interrupts her and tells her about HMRCU. She then tells that to her parents. They become members the next day.

In fact, they are so delighted with HMRCU, that they bring Stella in. Not really wanting to hang out at a bank, she goes anyway because of how nice they claim to be. She ends up realizing just how nice they really are, and she too opens an account to put some savings away for college, and some for allowance, etc. .

While talking to one of the tellers, "Holy" Mel walks in, angered. A teller asks what's wrong with him, and he explains that PP called him up, again, to mock him. Holy Mel then goes on to talk about the regulatory capture, and how PP is pretty much in charge of the banks around the area. Stella is again shocked, because PP is now affecting her and her parents; nobody messes with Stella's parents. All of Stella's family wants to do something.

Stella gives a quick pep talk to Holy Mel, and the credit union bankers applaud her ferociously. A HMRCU banker comes over to Stella and tells her about his son, the second bandmate parody, who has similar feelingsand could help. Stella's parents permit Stella to meet him, and also to meet the first kid.

Back at the school, PP has an assembly with a guest: it's a Polaris City Council member, talking about all the Polarian services that enrich the chicks' lives, and, of course, asking them to remind their parents to vote for her. When she begins to talk about the Polarian economy, Stella stands up and shouts about the corruption plaguing the city's banking industry. Before she can preach the word of HMRCU, she's apprehended and called to PP's office. Another penguin, the third bandmate parody, is also present because she was helping BTP sneak around in the school's vaults/storage rooms to find incriminating evidence of the school violating BORNE regulations. (Both were caught.)

After getting yelled at, Stella converses with the bandmate and talks about her problems. When she brings up her parents and the credit union, the bandmate interrupts her and says she knows about that place. She then says that her parents are part of the BORNE group assigned to this school, and that they were harrassed by PP to the point of asking to stop doing field work for BORNE. Naturally, she agrees to help Stella in whatever way she can.

Stella goes to lunch and is shunned by the more popular chicks because of her outbursts, background, and amongst the silver spoon mega-rich/snobby spawn of the Polarian bankers, because she's a member of HMRCU.

At the so-called "reject table", Stella finds the fourth bandmate parody. This one is a parody of the drummer. He's reading some books on the History of Polaris while tapping some beats on the table. He looks lake a skater penguin (long brown hair- actually a wig -short sleeve shirt with long-sleeved undershirt with red and white stripes, gloves, you know, the works). Drummer Parody is distracted in his rhythem and reading to notice Stella. He's shaking his head, too, commentaing about the corruption in the city. Stella greets him, and he looks up.

Drummer smiles; Stella asks him about his opinion on the corruption in Polaris. He says he hates it. Stella smiles and tells him about her burdens, about PP, and the credit union. He is intrigued. Drummer asks how she could raise awareness, and Stella realizes what she could do by watching his drumming. She could form a band! (She was hoping that Poalris' "wonderful" student perks included music lessons.)

Back at home, Stella tells her parents the good news, and they are thrilled. They give her permission to meet them, too. After that, the family goes out to a beautiful Polarian park, where they all meet the fifth and final band member. This one is a male parody of the main singer.

He's the son of a banker, and he is VERY wealthy. (That's right. Banker. In a bank. For profit, not a credit union banker, but a big-wig Polaris bank banker.) He's wearing a three-piece suit and has all the signs of wealth, even a golden watch. However, he's special, because his father was one of the Conservatives in Polaris that live holed up in that enclave. Singer's father worked in an executive position in one of the banks that PP oversaw. Singer's father tried to put up with the corruption, but eventually, he snapped when PP mocked him. In a tirade of fury, Singer's father grabbed the nearest thing he could- a container of lemonade ( ;) ) -and dumped it over PP. He was fired immediately. (It's fortunate they're rich, then.)

Singer actually recognizes Stella from the HMRCU incident where she made her speech. His father signed up for HMRCU membership that very day and was on his way to becoming a volunteer executive. (Their huge amounts of money are now in the credit union accounts.) Singer goes over to her. Stella is judgemental at first, until Singer talks about his father's plight. Stella is surprised to see a wealthy penguin side with her, and she sees him as her ticket for the band. Stella shows Singer to her parents, and they all mutually approve of each other.

At home again, Stella and family call up the five band member parodies and they all meet the next day (a Saturday) at Stella's house. Stella learns that each of them can play an instrument and they were all glad to join a band to promote their anti-corruption cause. They begin practicing after smoothing out some arguments, and they're actually quite good.

Singer mentions that he could "convince" PP to allow their band to play at the upcoming school festival. The others are annoyed that Singer is thinking of bribing, but he justifies it as "noble and just" because of its intent. Stella sighs and allows it just one time.

Then, they practice. After about an hour, a penguin comes to the door and demands they be quiet, per Polaris' "anti-noise ordinances". The police only persue crimes that involve violence. If it isn't violent, the police have to be paid to persue it. His warning is ignored, until a wealthy neighbor "hires" the police to force them to be quiet. It is then and there that they begin to plan their move.

The next school day, Singer's works his magic in a comedic scene with PP. He agrees, but says he'd be watching.

At the school festival, most of the students and the student's parents are present and having a great time. There, Stella's (still unnamed) band sings a few songs. The first one is just a song, but the second one has references to corruption and the regulatory capture, irking PP. Then comes the third one (which will parody "Determinate"), where they all out sing about Holy Mel's Righteous Credit Union and about the BORNE. The sympathizzers in the audience decide to join HMRCU later on.
BTP, in the audience, lets loose a "WHOOOHOOO", and even the pro-establishment students admit that it's a pretty good song. PP tries to shut them down, but he can't, because Singer and his father "persuaded" the electronics operators to "keep the show going". The longer they did, the more money. PP couldn't stop it until Determinate's parody finished and got an encore.

All five chicks are called to the office and are sternly diciplined. PP has them suspended for the next three days. Their parents did not punish them, but rather, encouraged them to use the time to develop their plan.

Singer again bribes some people (without Stella's knowledge) and lands them a spot on Polaris Public Radio. They play another song and become a hit in the conservative's district. They wind up receiving donations from the conservatives to keep it up.

PP is keeping up, too. He decides to cash in that "favor" the bankers owe him. They lobby the PCC- many of whom owe "favors" to the bankers in turn -to pass punitive taxation rates on all credit unions in the city. HMRCU, of course, is the only credit union, so they get the heck taxed out of them, and then some. PP gloats that shutting down HMRCU will teach "those pesky credit unioners" not to mess with him anymore!

Stella and friends don't back down, but are saddened. Holy Mel tells them it might be the end. The Credit Union is going under and will soon be repossessed by the bank (irony) that it owes its mortgage to. Stella pleads with Holy Mel not to give up, but even she begins to feel the weight of it all.

Things get worse, like in the movie. By now, Polaris' dreaded Sanchonachos Secret Police has caught up with them. They "did things" to various band members, things I haven't decided on yet. Stella herself was locked away by Polaris' police and stuff.

However, the five band members don't give up. They chose their name by now, but they aren't really able to play. One of them, for example, is on crutches. Another is about to move to another part of town, and things. (The Secret Police did all this.)

So I listend to Paramore...

Even those who do not like Paramore should admit that it is exceptional at producing extremely relevant social commentary.
Or, in other words, the music can be very relevent to many listeners' lives; this is one of the most ancient and accepted parts of quality music.
I may not be a Paramore fan myself, but I respect their uncanny knack at producing lyrics that truly speaks volumes to their fans.

Still, I have no idea what you really see in this band. Perhaps it's the social relevance it possesses? It is some pretty good social relevance.
