Vehicle Registration Plates, also known as License Plates or Number Plates, are rectangular plates made of plastic or metal used to identify motor vehicles. Each plate contains an alpha-numerical value that uniquely identifies the vehicle and its owner. Each country around Antarctica distributes its own designs, formats, sizes, and other factors. Additionally, certain vehicles such as trailers, UTVs, or scooters may or may not require registration plates, depending on laws in some countries.

The following is a collection of license plate designs from all over Antarctica.

United States of Antarctica[edit]

In the USA, license plates typically have a format of ABC-1234 or ABC-12345 depending on the state. Each state possesses its own design, along with special designs that a vehicle owner can pay more to use. Additionally, owners can pay to have a specific word or phrase in their license plate, provided it is valid and appropriate. Famously, a driver in Eastshield was once given over 2,500 driving citations because he possessed a vanity license place with the term "NO PLATE," causing citations for cars without license plates to be passed to him. There are also longer plates as well.

Club Penguin Island[edit]

While few vehicles are allowed on the island, Club Penguin issues its own license plate, separate from the Sub-Antarctic Islands. It is all blue with white lettering, and the Club Penguin logo on top.

Federal Plates[edit]

License plates belonging to government-owned vehicles are entirely blue with white outlines and lettering, and have "U.S.A. EXEMPT" across the bottom side.

Free Republic Union and Sub-Antarctic Islands[edit]

Free Republic Union[edit]

Ed Island[edit]

Ed Islandian license plates closely follow the Antarctic system, with all plates having a format of ABC-1234. Vehicle owners initially have the option between a national plate or state plates, but otherwise must pay for personal or vanity plates. Additionally, military veterans awarded Wounded medals, Service Crosses, or Iron Crosses may apply for specialized plates featuring these medals, but must show proof that they received the award.

United Provinces[edit]

Culldrome Isles[edit]

Margate[edit]

Acadia[edit]

Ninja Archipelago[edit]

Archipelago Union plates are similar to FRU plates, but usually have the country's coat of arms instead of a blue identifying section.

Asiapelago[edit]

Countries in the Asiapelago use both Antarctican- and FRU-style plates.
