Victoriagrad formerly known by the names of Penguin City, Capital City, Príomhchathair, and Smackemsillyton, is a small city not far from South Pole City on the Hutt River. It is the remaining portion of what used to be the capital city for the Penguin Empire, the High Penguin Confederacy, and Khanzem, before it was invaded by the Ruscans in 1918, where they controlled it until 1935. During Ruscan control, it was mostly known as Kapitalsgrad, but it's name was finally changed to Victoriagrad in 1933 to commemorate the 15 year anniversary of Rusca and the Good Guys success in defeating Khanzem. Today, Victoriagrad is a small town that reflects it's Ruscan and High Penguin Confederacy heritage, one of the last few cities on the mainland to do so.

The city was first started by the Penguin Empire when they united several small Babbelonian cities and built Penguin City. Penguin City was one of the most powerful cities that Antarctica back then, since it was a political and economical hub. However, Penguin City was turned into rubble when the Vikings, Khanz, and High Penguins invaded and ended the Penguin Empire in 450 AD. Penguin City's remains were given to the High Penguins, who took the land and rebuilt it to create Capital City. From their new headquarters, they were able to expand their population and their armies, which increased their empire. Capital City grew into a larger urban center than Penguin City had been, and it became home to a lot of nobility, merchants, and artisans that could find refuge within the safety of the city's walls from Viking and Khanz invaders. Capital City was diverse in many ways. It's richer areas boasted splendid homes, small castles and the Royal palace as well as large apartments that began to develop, while the poorer areas, seen at the outskirts near the city walls, became home to larger crowded apartments with much narrower streets and living space. Capital City continued to show large contrasts in social classes until the 1700's, when factories began to emerge and better and fancier apartments and buildings began to be built, which helped organize the city better. The poorer classes began to diminish as the middle class rose in majority. By the year 1900, Capital City was a prosperous place that boasted several successful businesses, clothing stores, artisan stores, and restaurants that served both the High and Middle classes. Capital City reached it's peak in 1913, right before Whoot Smackler Whoot overthrew the government. When Whoot couped the government in 1913, panic struck across all of the High Penguin Confederacy and the city. High Penguins, who were the majority of the city, were seized from their homes and put into labor camps. Although some non-High Penguin groups praised Whoot for giving them their rights, they soon realized that Whoot was taking their own freedoms away, thus scaring them into submission, and Capital City became very quiet; no one was allowed to go against Whoot's New Order without getting killed, deleted, or sent to a labor camp. The city became the Headquarters for the Naugtzee during the war, and it was subject to invasion by the Good Guys in the end. Smackemsillyton was then ceded to Communist Rusca, who renamed the city to Kapitalsgrad in 1918 since the city would become the capital of Ruscan controlled Antarctica. The city grew rather prosperous and became a model city for Rusca's communist propaganda. The majority of the city had still survived the war, but its outskirts had been badly damaged. The Ruscans immediately replaced the damaged suburban areas with new, tall apartment buildings that surrounded the old city's walls, blocking it from sight. In 1935, the Ruscans signed an agreement to cede the city and Ruscan Antarctica to the Grand Ol' Land so that they could form Olde Antarctica. Victoragrad's Ruscan citizens quickly left the city, and its half of its population left. Many of the old apartments were destroyed, and Victoriagrad became a quiet city until the STINC rebellions, where it became their eventual Headquarters. When the city was taken by the Puffish in 1990, Victoriagrad became a city for the rich and wealthy, and many Puffish and High Penguin elite moved there; many of whom stayed there when the USA declared their independence in 2000.

Points of Interest[edit]

  • Royal Palace - The Royal Palace where the Kings of the High Penguin Confederacy and later Whoot Smackler Whoot used to live. It was barely damaged during the Khanzem War and it was restored to its former glory by the Ruscans, who used the building as a public ballroom. Afterwards, it was converted into a museum in 1950 by the ordinances of Olde Antarctica's South Pole Council.
  • Old Town - Consisting of the majority of the modern city, the Old Town is everything within the original city walls, which are still intact. It is home to many large and elegantly decorated 18th and 19th century buildings all built during the High Penguin Confederacy. Some buildings have been damaged from the Khanzem War and have been rebuilt.
  • Grand Train Station - A large, elegant train station built in 1895. It was expanded under the Ruscan occupation and serves destinations to nearby South Pole City, and distant destinations such as Polaris, Frostborough, and Ulaansnowtar.

  • This city has no airport since the old one during the Khanzem period was destroyed and turned into an apartment complex.
