The Waddlings are an invasive species of mutated, deformed Adelie penguins who feast on the intelligence of normal penguins. Mutated from the Adelie penguin species, Waddlings have magical powers can even shapeshift to disguise themselves. Their leader seems to have advanced intelligence to form and command hoards of Waddlings, which unquestionably do her bidding.

Background[edit]

The Waddlings were created by two unnamed scientists in a government laboratory in 2010. They were attempting to create a potion to make any average penguin grow natural hair (which is an exclusively genetic trait that has never been synthesized). The two bald, male scientists had dreamed of having wonderful hair, and helping every bald penguin in the world fulfill their dreams of a nice head of hair without the use of a wig. Their first four test subjects, unfortunately, had all been seriously injured, poisoned, or even killed from the experiments. This fifth test subject, they assumed, would be completely capable of growing hair on its head.

As soon as the test subject drank from the vial, it began growing hair, better than expected. Its hair kept growing until it flooded the room, then it all fell out. The penguin's green feathers then began getting smaller and turning white. Its flippers grew natural holes, and it grew long, sharp teeth, much like a wolf or a bear. The hair began growing again in turquoise, and a crown-shaped growth the same color of its feathers appeared on its head. The bird soon gained impressive magical powers, powers strong enough to mentally drain creatures and take a creature's place temporarily. The scientists had unwillingly created Queen Waddler, the almighty ruler of the Waddling tribe. As soon as she was fully created, she feasted on the brains of the scientists and soon spawned more of herself from the laboratory. From there, well, nature took its course.

Involvement[edit]

Waddlings are always looking for a feast. Oddly enough, they have never been hunted or seen in the wild, but this is due to the fact that they really blend in with the crowd. Reports of mass mental draining (MMD) have been shown on television news, but the outbreaks and attacks are rare, sporaidic, and laughed off as myth.

Appearance[edit]

  • Queen Waddler is the most distinctive Waddling in the entire tribe. She has a crown-shaped growth on her head, tattered, turquoise hair, holes in the flippers, long teeth, and white, thinning feathers. In the future, Queen Waddler will take the place of Agent Meltie, a very intelligent bird.
  • Natural Waddlings (the ones created by pure science, not just regular mating) look similar to their queen. They all share the same appearance minus the crown.
  • Half-Waddlings (created through the mating of a Waddling and a regular penguin) share an appearance with Natural Waddlings, minus the fact that the colors of a Half-Waddling can be varied. The color will typically be a blend of white from the Waddling and the color of the bird mated with.
  • All Waddlings have distinctive green eyes.
