Prologue: 1.5's Gifts Of Mods[edit]
It was a calm summer evening, Gregory Persson (known by his friends as Xnor) watched the night sky. His pet cat, Rigel, sitting next to him. A bleeping sounded, his computer was alerting him that his turtles had returned from quarrying. He walked over to his lift to take him up to the turtle ports. His tree was a special import from a jungle miles away, tree mechanics in Minecraft allowed for towering constructions grown from only a few saplings.
"Come on Rigel." ProjectXMark1 said to his cat, it stretched it's legs and walked into the lift. It went up to the fourth floor, this floor contained the outlet to his monster trap four floors higher and the turtle ports. While he was waiting he remembered Project X Mark 1's last visit. He was a robot from another universe. He had helped to build Project X Mark 1's time machine and universe hopper. Killing the dragon guarding the ore pile, which had all the ores they needed to build it. He had visited several times after that, even helping to build the platforms on his tree-house. The lift reached Floor 4, the turtle ports and the outlet of his monster-trap floors above. As he stepped out green lights appeared in the sky.
"Mods..." He muttered, turtles would have to wait. Mods are green meteors made of glowing green byte-code. All the mods that were in this game were updated to the newest version of Minecraft, 1.5. This version had a new modding API that would replace the 3 mods that support all the others. He walked back into the lift and set it to ground level. The largest meteor hit as he clambered inside his safe bunker under the tree. Rigel curled up beside the fireplace, his bunker was walled with obsidian, but inside it was lined with rather homely decor. A second meteor hit, then a third and a fourth. When he climbed out to check if any blocks had glitched, as they sometimes did when these things happened, the whole area glistened with green sparkles. The API must have been big, this never happens commonly. He decided to alert an old friend of his.
Albert Chappingham looked out over the forest. He had just seen four glittering lights, which he recognised as mods, streak across the sky to the west. He looked around outside, then around his house. He was very proud of his house. It did not help that his pyromaniacal friend's TNT store under Albert's house going off accidently, or through an accident with tunneling machines, Alberts pet squid getting angry, a half-powered Herobrine (Albert was now scared silly by a capital E built out of glowstone), fire, or any other accident destroying it. It started to rain, Albert walked inside to tell Bertie, firstly to alert him to what was going on, secondly to not bring any new explosives he might have discovered if he comes over (or any explosives in general). He accessed his computer and ran the RedNetWorks program. Just as he was about to send mail to Bertie, a message appeared.
Xnor Would Like To IRC With You, Accept? Yes Xnor Began IRC-ing With GameChap. Xnor: Ah, thank goodness, I've been pinging you for the past five minutes. I need to tell you something GameChap. GameChap: What bally well is it? Xnor: 1.5 has arrived. Expect a lot more mods flying down in the next few hours! GameChap: I bally well guessed that Xnor! I saw the bally cads flying westwards! Xnor: Well, ok then. Tell Bertie please, I have turtles to unload. Xnor Stopped IRC-ing With GameChap
Bertram Sylvester Smith stared out over the grass filled plains, his small plot of wheat next to his small brick house swaying in the light breeze, he had received a message from his good friend, GameChap and was preparing to fly over to his house ten kilometers eastwards. His area was nothing like that of GameChap's. He lived on a large stretch of hilly plains, GameChap lived on the junction of several climates. Bertram was into explosives, he had found out about several powerful ones last night from a friend at a quarry. He walked inside, he still had to load some things into the minecarts that would take him there. After he had finished he hopped in and set off.
Chapter 1: Cue Awesome[edit]
Project X Mark 1 hopped into The Invisible Elevator. He was off to investigate a pocket dimension that had formed two years ago that they had just found out about. He had been given the universe number, 133713Po4, to enter into the library of universes he had registered over the 9 years he had owned the machine. As he drifted over reality, a blast of sound issued from a speaker that had never sounded before along with a bright orange lamp. X rummaged about under the console, pulling out a slightly faded, but still quite old, book.
The Invisible Elevator: A Pilots Guide
X flipped through the pages, eventually coming to one titled "Console Schematic". He found the light and speaker and looked at it's respective number in the captions.
Call Light and speaker.
X knew who it was at once, he remembered it like it was yesterday. He had given his good friend from the Minecraft universe, Xnor, a button with the tooltip "Call Lift". He again flipped through the pages to "Calls".
Calls are more urgent than requests. They are a high priority alert, therefore the pilot is unable to repond to other requests until the call has been answered and completed.
He decided that to maintain timeline continuity he had to answer the call immediately, he had been told by a future self that he had received a call about now.
To answer the call, press the orange lamp.
X pushed, the lights suddenly dimmed.
"Changing course for call universe. Fasten your seatbelts. Wait, this is an old model, just hold onto something and you'll be fine." The AI, built into the system, said in it's usual monotone female voice, which X had turned on a few months prior. The lift lurched suddenly and turned, it flew towards the Minecraft Universe at top speed. Steam was coming out of the floor. Awesome music was also playing.
"Whoa! I thought I turned dramatic entrance mode off!"
"You didn't."
"Yes I did!"
"No you didn't."
"Yes!"
"No."
"Yes. Hey, I'm keeping the sunglasses. Hey, don't take the sunglasses off me! Give 'em here! Why did I turn you on again?! You've been a pain ever since I turned you on!"
"You said you didn't want dramatic entrance mode on."
"I never said I didn't want the sunglasses!" X was now having a wrestling match with a robotic arm holding a pair of sunglasses.
"Well, we're heading towards Xnor now, so either you make an uncool entrance, or you lose the sunglasses."
"No! They are too awesome to be lost to an AI that may or may not be releated to GLaDOS!"
"Fine, be that way, doors opening. And I'm BASIC derived!" At that, the AI threw him out of the elevator, causing X to land hard on the ground. The lift landed a few feet off.
Chapter 2: Meet The Team[edit]
"Uh, X, are you coming?" A familiar voice spoke behind him. X turned, it was Xnor.
"Oh, Xnor. Sorry about that, I had an argument with the onboard computers."
"You haven't answered my question. Are you coming?" Said Xnor.
"Yes, what is it?"
"I have some people I would like you to meet." Xnor walked towards his towering treehouse, X had never actually seen it before.
"Nice house, how did you build it?"
"What?" Replied Xnor. "You helped me build it, you should know."
"I don't think so, are you sure you have the right X? Because the last time I was here we were messing about with Iron Golems in 1.2."
"Alright, well, tell one of your future selves to do it when you're done here." Xnor, who was now entering the lift to the upper floors, said. "Are you coming?"
All X said was "Yes." He walked into the lift as well, Xnor set it to the second floor. When they had reached their destination the doors opened. Rigel greeted Xnor affectionately, then moved on to investigate X. Two men were also here, one looked quite old and had grey hair, the other looked like he was in his mid-thirties, both looked rather like they had been pulled straight out of a 1940's upper-class fox-hunt. At last the man in his early thirties spoke, a voice that sounded like Alclair's accent10.
"I say! Is this X, Gregory?" He spoke, a green meteor rushed down and impacted as he finished.
"Yes, yes, this is X, Albert." Xnor replied. "Oh my, portal gun mod, we're going to have fun with that one." He added, he had an ability he had learned that meant he could see what the mod's main theme was from the shape of the shrapnel that flies off on landing. The grey-haired man ajusted his bowler hat, apparently he was keeping his inventory in there. The Minecraft inventory was a small tablet from which one could manipulate the blocks of the world. People tend to store their inventories with them, often under a hat or in a pocket, when not in use. Xnor spoke again.
"Now everyone is here, I would like to tell you why we have gathered at my house. It has come to my attention..." Another mod hit, interrupting X mid-sentence. "It has come to my attention that some odd things have been happening over the past two days. I would like everyone here to help me investigate with me, being a master-class meddler it is my job to look into this sort of thing. We will obviously be using these mods to our advantage, but we must be careful using them, we are still not sure what is causing these events and it could be any one of these mods that is causing it. Also we will be heading to the Kingdom of OMGWTFHAX, I have business there to attend to."
The grey haired man spoke, his voice higher pitched than Albert's.
"I say! Shall we get kitted out then?"
"Yes, I think we shall." Xnor had predicted this question, X knew he had a knack of doing that. Xnor used the materials from the recently unloaded turtles to conjour the objects necessary to craft their equipment. Xnor crafted four portal guns using them, one for each of them. Another mod hit.
"Well, I'll tell you this, these two mods that impacted last were Smart Moving and Battle Gear. So, shields anyone?"
Chapter 3: Arrival[edit]
They began to walk. Across plains and mountains they trudged, all of them not above sleeping through the night in a hole they had dug for themselves. As they crossed the peak of a large mountain they saw, stretching for miles in every direction, a vast chasm. X fired his portal gun to try and get across. The shot shattered as it flew into the chasm.
"X, it's protected quite heavily, that is really no use at all. Not the most graceful way to show your jurusdiction boundaries, but it works very well. Moreso if the chasm in question drops below level zero. But that's Raniy for you, he likes his security." Xnor said1.
If you were there, you would have seen this, a huge cylindrical chasm over 100,000 blocks wide. Inside that chasm were huge floating islands, each of them capable of supporting self-sustaining civilisations without any outside interference. That was the Imperial Kingdom of Her Majesty, Massie100, OMGWTFHAX, which is an abbreviation of Omniversal Majesty's Grand World of Turbo-Fast HAX. Acronyms and synonyns are fun aren't they?
They eventually arrived at the main gate, just on the edge of the Kingdom.
"Name." Said the guard as they approached his post.
"Gregory Persson, lifetime donator to the treasury, navigator of the crew of Her Majesty's Space Ship Barrett of the Woodville fleet, chief engineer of The Honourable Aliano Dolmann's Can of Congress in the Principality of Woodville, LandOwner of the ReaperZ battle guild. They're all with me." Xnor said.
"Very well sir." Replied the guard, and he opened the gate to the portal across.
Arriving at the central hub world, X attracting a few looks, they walked down the path to the other world portals.
"We'll let you and Bertie explore for a while Albert. X, come with me. If you need us we will be in The Protectorate, the green tent." Xnor told them. X and Xnor walked into the portal housed within the green tent. These tents kept the rain off the portals to the other worlds, besides they looked nice.
After a few more travels through portals they eventually arrived at Xnor's other home. This home, with a larger two floor basement, was where X housed his spleef and human chess club. It was a small room, a covered bed on the roof, with two furnaces and a crafting table in one corner, a bench and jukebox in another, and the whole had some bookcases and chests dotted around.
"Well, here we are." Xnor said. He fiddled with his inventory.
"What are you doing?" X asked.
"Just sending some messages to my friends telling them I'm here."
"I see."
Half an hour later Xnor got a reply. It was from Wi11derbeast, .
"Hey, they've just finished refitting the Barrett, that ship I work on. I'm going over for a test ride in half an hour." Xnor said. "Do you want to come along?"
"Well, I suppose I have no choice. Who knows what trouble I could get into in a place like this?"
The duo arrived at Woodville City. As the name suggests it is built almost entirely out of wooden planks and logs. After taking the lift up to the Barrett they were greeted by Bart Seleno3, the ships engineer.
"Hi Greg, looking forward to the test-flight?"
"Oh yes. This is X, a good friend of mine, is it alright if he comes up on the bridge?"
"I don't know, ask the captain."
"Ok. Well, anyway, let me give you a tour."
Chapter 4: HMSS Barrett of the Woodville Fleet[edit]
"Well, first off here's Sensors and Communications." Said Wi11derbeast as they walked through the double doors to their right. They were in a room with wooden walls, with six computer screens fitted into them picked up the bits of the electromagnetic spectrum that we can't see2. Six more screens displayed other outputs from the sensors.
"Duct Tape? Holds good?" X asked.
"Have I mentioned how low-budget the Woodville space program is? We use reinforced duct tape to hold everything together."
"Makes sense in context." Replied X. If you are not aware of what that means, I suggest you look at how Minecraft's laws of physics work now.
They walked through another set of double doors at the far end of Sensors and Comms. The room was fairly uninteresting, four guns mounted into the front wall with windows above each. A chest in one of the corners contained ammunition.
After that they climbed the ladder to the second deck. This was mostly a corridor containing the officers quarters. They past all of these and went through another pair of doors at the far end. This was the recreation room; it was a small room with a few notice boards. Assorted members of the small crew that manned the Barrett were sat at tables, three of them playing a card game. A small fireplace crackled away at one end. A few heads turned at the sight of X, but Wi11der dismissed them.
Through the doors to their left at the main entrance lied the mess hall. A kitchen took up a corner of it, bordered by a wooden partition. Two side doors lead into the hangars containing two small ships each. Two more side doors further down lead into farms growing wheat. Ladders next to those lead up to a library and a sick bay. Up a ladder was the thermopile generator and control room assosiated with it, both had computers on at least two sides. The bridge was high up on top of all of this.
The bridge was, in essence, a very Star-Trek esque thing, albeit smaller. The captains chair stood at the front inbetween the helmsman and first officer's chairs. Communications took up one side and weapons the other, Xnor's sat at the back. All of these were spurting out readings indicating things like heading and speed and rate of ascent plus many more measurements that X did or did not understand.
"We're five minutes running late you know." Oz Morton, the helmsman, brought up after waiting silently for five minutes without them noticing.
"Good grief Oz! Don't do that!" Xnor exclaimed, startled.
"Well, you know how it is with thinking preemptively." By this time Wi11der was at his chair making a hurried message over the intercom.
"Stations everyone! Now! We're taking off!"
Chapter 5: An Unexpected Recall[edit]
The flight was going smoothly, after a brief apology to Admiral Shibbs about starting late they were flying over inter-range4 territory. The aether pumps and various other propellant devices that the Barrett employed sent it across the world. It was en-route to a small clear area five-thousand miles north of the kingdom. It was five o-clock in the afternoon when a message came through, it was from the HMSS Picard, the ship Shibbs was on. Auz Mole, communications officer, picked it up. The unmistakable tones of Shibb's voice rang out along with static.
"Calling HMSS Barre-, -osti- -nvasion sweeping -ough civilian worlds. Repeat, host- inv-ion -eepin- through civilian worlds. Ret- kingd- -mediately. Tha- order." Auz sent out a reply.
"Ok, relaying to captain Wi11der now." Auz then closed the channel.
"Captain, there's a spot of bother at the home range. Direct orders from Shibbs to return immediately."
"Yes, yes, alright. No need to Trek it up like that." Oz replied, who was taking over from Wi11der at the wheel.
They turned around and rocketed back to the kingdom. As they passed over the boundaries they deployed a one of the shuttles to investigate. It returned and reported fires and carnage from below.
A few hours later, as the Barrett defends Woodville and rescues survivors
"What I don't get is how they got over the chasm. Security is tight at the entrance." Bart said to the ship's archivist, Jaffa <plausible baked-goods related surname coming soon> later in the lower deck.
"Does that answer your question?" Jaffa said as the Barrett drifted by an obviously-hijacked HMSS Picard with armies pouring in and out of it.
Meanwhile further up, men and women were manning guns and dropping bombs. The left side gunners stopped as a slightly battered shuttle returned. Aboard was the pilot, X, and Shibbs, who had been recovered from a storage locker on the Picard tied up and gagged. They barely escaped with their lives and X took an arrow to the back of his knee, which X was now busying himself removing.
"So, admiral, the hordes charged you head on and overwhelmed your ship in under an hour, crushing all resistance effectively with barely any losses. You would think the crew would be armed better." X replied, they had been having a discussion about how the Picard was hijacked.
"Well, you don't see a crew of a spaceship in things like Star Trek holding enough firepower to take out a whole undead apocalypse, do you?"
"Undead you say?"
"Yes, all undead, armed to the teeth."
"Undead you say?"
"How did they get all the way up to the Picard?"
By this time they had left the shuttle and were conversing in a corner of the mess unoccupied by evacuees from the ground.
"One of the crew told me a flying computer with a laser cutter breached the hull and started hatching zombie and skeleton eggs from it's top. I didn't believe him until the mob took half the ship. Then I gave the order to abandon the Picard. I'm not sure how many made it, but the captain was shot dead and I got tied up and thrown unceromoniously into a storage locker on the bottom decks. I sent that message using a headset that they were too moronic to search for and remove."
"Dumb things. I took on an army of them with Greg and won hands down, he took a few nasty knocks and I had to help him out, but otherwise we won hands down."
Chapter 6: Events Happening Parralel To This[edit]
Copy-pasted from the Wikia Catastrophe
It was a dark and stormy night. Ternville had once again spiraled into a major thunderstorm, and this was creating trouble for Mayor McFlapp as he attempted to type on his Organ.
"Gah, why did I allow this blinkin' storm to bally happen in the first place?" the tern shook himself to stay awake. ".....did I even allow it? ......."
The Mayor continued to peck and play on the Organ, ritualistically performing his designated tasks. It was late at night, and the Mayor had been working non-stop, attempting to keep up with the sudden increase of MediaWiki edits performed by a certain penguin and an infamous mushroom. He was exhausted and needed to roost for the night; the poor tern could barely hold his head up.
Elsewhere, Director Benny, also weathering the storm, was at his laptop. Two large buttons connected by USB cables sat to the left and right of his PC. The green button marked Approved, and the red button marked Rejected. The poor puffle was also tired out his wits, and he glanced at the screen, half-asleep.

"Ooh..... why did they have to edit all of that Media Wiki?"

Author Billybob, long asleep, was slumped over his Sacred Typewriter. He couldn't have seen the shady figure slip in with a black sheet of paper baring crudely done white crayon.
A sinister voice was heard in the quiet room. Only the occasional clap of thunder emitted any other noise.
Carefully lifting Billybob's flipper and moving his body off of the Typewriter, the silhouette (who had stolen Director Black paint from Keith) unrolled the current paper and inserted his. Rolling the spool back, the black paper was now in the typewriter, awaiting the Mayor and Benny's appraisal.
Benny, so tired that he looked like any yellow puffle in an igloo, barely noticed the new text on his screen.

The mayor fell asleep. As he fell, his beak hit the 67th key on the second keyboard, one of the many Approve Keys on the instrument. The entire room shook and the organ started making snapping and cracking sounds from within. The woodwork and the steel pipes vibrated like mad, and the foot pedals locked and ceased to work. The organ shook and rocked, then it began to play, on its own, a terrible piano mess that hardly resembled real music. Then, of all things, the organ CRACKED, and four of its hundreds of pipes fell off its fasteners. The wooden sound emitters within shattered, and one by one, the pipes of this mighty console fell silent. All but one of the computer monitors went out, and the lights of the office shattered, plunging the room into darkness. Mayor McFlapp, now wide awake was running about, his top hat on the floor, as he brought in several professional instrument repair-penguins to save the dying organ. They worked frantically, using all of the duct tape, wiring, nails and parts they could muster, trying to hold the now falling universe in order. The sky outside turned orange, then blue, then red, grey, magenta, and soon began cycling through the entire color spectrum. Everyone but the Masters became frozen in suspended animation. Cracks opened up in the ground as the organ lost more of its musical capacity. The pipes fell once more, and the keyboard began to buckle. Then, the interior wind blowing section shattered and the instrument fell silent.
Chapter 7: Events Happening Parralel In The Same Universe[edit]
Returning to White Eye
Waves of temporal energy rippled through all of space and time. Ancient thermionic computers flashed red lights, sending signals to each other across the multiverse from inside impenetrable vaults. One of these computers, separate in multiversal alignment, was rapidly preparing for the tsunami that would strike at any moment. This computer had access to the most powerful technology in the multiverse, Objects of Great Importance. One of these was connected to the computer, it could teleport things into it and manipulate energy and matter. A transcript of the input moniter is now provided.

The whole Craftverse appeared as a small black sphere inside the object. Shielded by the green stone of the vault the universe withstood the brunt of the ensuing blasts of pure energy, leaving only a time-lock that prevented time machines from entering and leaving.
That lock was, as a matter of logic, created by the fact that the universe was now shielded by a one metre thick cube of impenetrable stone; if there was a hole in the vault things could enter but never leave because then they would be in a recursive loop spanning the entire universe.
Away from that, our protagonists have been forced into a retreat, as the ships Barrett and Picard have sustained heavy damage from flying robot explosives and booby traps respectively. We rejoin this fellowship with X about to leave with Albert, Bertie, and the admiral Shibbs.
"You'll take good care of them won't you?" Wi11der asked X as the crew piled into the damaged hangars.
"I think that is very much assured." Was X's only reply.
X set a course for a pocket universe he knew of where they could lie low for a few months. They shot off and accelerated, the inertia damper working flat out to keep the ship together.
All of a sudden there was an almighty crash, the fragile damper shattered. X checked their location, they were in the upper atmosphere, and in the same universe, and planet, as before.
"Ok guys, I really hope you like skydiving, because we're about to hit an ocean at several hundred miles an hour, all I can say is I hope at least one of us makes it. Just so you know, I have no idea why and how, that annoys all of us probably. So we better get going now."
Under the captain's orders Albert and Bertie bailed, then Shibbs. X, however, paused.
"Well, you're this ship, get out your own way." Adressing the software attempting to slow the ship's descent. X jumped, hit terminal velocity, then smashed into the ocean.
As he looked up he saw what he could only describe as a titanic explosion. Shards of metal flew; fire, ash, and the coal could easily be seen by flaming black dust blotting out the clouds. Wankel rotors unscathed by the disaster skimmed across the water like shruinken.
Far away, packed to the brim, the shuttles of the Barrett flew from their stricken aircraft, were hit by the high winds and thrown into disarray, crashing landing into a forest and leaving holes. Their cargo of people survived with a few broken bones and light bruising, and those who landed without harm valiantly helped the injured. They were all rendered absolutely speechless, held only by one collective thought.
"X what have you done."
Chapter 8: Diverged Lines[edit]
X was designed to be watertight, had been made nigh-indestructible, and was one of the most effective at combat ever thanks to his blue lasers of raw imagination. However, centuries of wear tend to take their toll, seals were thin, plating was galled, he had lost his edge slightly and raw imagination was crippling to use liberally.
Voi pronounced VOY for anyone who doesn't know is a sophisticated combat robot, outclassing X even when he was in his prime. Deadly, powerful, capable of seeing heat as well as light; it was a sight to behold, yet fear.
X had now spent several years wandering the planet, living off the land, trying to find his way back to the kingdom. Tonight it would all change.
"You've changed yourself since last time."
"Yes. I have." Voi waved a large weapon, the front of which looked like a stag beetle's jaw, it had replaced his right heat blade. They were standing in a snowy forest, looking at each other; X with light fear, Voi with a sense of satisfaction.
"You, how did you get tha- how the heck did you get here?"
"I have my methods." Voi told X in his usual monotone binary.
"I can't believe it, why are you still following me? I present no harm to where we came from, yet you pursue me like some kind of hyena? Just go away!" X's panic rose.
"I have my orders. My orders are simple. Kill you."
"Catch me then, like old times!" X ran for his life as a swipe from the one of usually two heated blades barely missed his head.
Gregory staggered, clutching his chest, he thought he had broken a rib. Half-blind by dust, Gregory drifted west on weak legs.
"Bertie! Wake up old chap!" Albert yelled to his fallen comrade. They had come this far and they were not giving up this close to their friends' ever-moving camp.
"Move men, move! Map says we're only five hundred miles from safety!" Admiral Shibbs called to the pig riders, towing the makeshift tents across plains of green grass under the cover of darkness.

The electromagnetic spectrum is, for those who don't know, is a concept that covers particle physics. It is basically how many times a photon, the particle for electromagnetic radiation, goes up and down in a certain distance. The bit we can see is the visible light spectrum, a quite small section that has all the colours of the rainbow. The bits we can't see are being picked up by the Barrett's sensors, they are Radio waves, microwaves, infrared, ultraviolet, X (not the character, the wave) and gamma rays. The further you go down the spectrum the higher energy and the more up/down it can do, that's why you don't want to be too near large sources of gamma rays because you would likely end up dead.

4[edit]
Since the Minecraft world is immense (bigger than Jupiter), people often own large tracts of land called ranges. Inter-range territory is when the territory is unowned.
