UPDATE!

The newsletter has not been forgotten about. Ninjinian put it on hold due to the wiki's errors back in September. The first issue is now due for a December '11 release and will focus on wiki events from August to December. If you want to be interviewed, contact Ninjinian on his talk page. Please read the below information if you want to know more about the project and if you want a job.

Greetings CPFW users. A while ago (maybe last year while we were all still on the expired CPFW) I was thinking of creating a weekly newspaper/newsletter to represent the Club Penguin Fanon Wiki. I think someone else was working on the idea with me, but eventually we all forgot about it. I brought the subject up today on IRC chat to Flywish - who agrees with the idea of creating a monthly CPFW newsletter. Originally I was thinking of compiling a newsletter weekly, but then I thought that nothing hardly ever happens around the wiki weekly, so I decided to do one monthly. "The purpose of a newsletter is to provide specialized information to a targeted audience. Newsletters can be a great way to market the CPFW, and also create credibility and build an identity among peers, member and users on other wikis." - that is just a description of what a newsletter is. But our newsletter will not fit exactly what the description has said ...

• the newsletter should be targeted at only the users of the CPFW.
• the newsletter is also targeted at users who have been inactive and want to catch up on what's been going on around the Fanon.
• the newsletter will give main details on the events that have been going on in the past month.
• the newsletter's main sections will be a Main Story, Supporting Story, List of New Articles, Reviewing Section and any other small miscellaneous details (I am still finalizing what to add in the newsletter each month).

I have started writing and designing the newsletter already - an exclusive sneak peak of it can be viewed only if you ask for one on IRC chat. I also plan on using the newsletter to publicize and remind users of the Featured Article of the Month and User of the Month. Hopefully you fellow users will aid me in this task (such as helping me get stories to write). Anyone who helps each month will be credited at the end of each newsletter. Please share your thoughts in, what I call, "The Opinion Zone" - and if you are considering a "job" in The CPFW Newsletter then sign below "The Jobseekers Zone". And if you want to share ideas then comment under "The Idea Zone". Hopefully the bold text will enable you to comment under the correct sections.

P.S. Currently the Main Story for August is about the Desura group thing so that's just a heads-up to XTUX ;)
