  • While I like the idea of you being a rollback, and see it as appropriate for the editing you do, I think we already have enough users with rollback rights to handle the small amount of vandalism we get. There are something like 6 rollbacks now, plus 8 administrators- that's 14 of our 30 or so users. If we had a larger community, I'd say yes, but I think that now isn't the right time. I'm still not sure on whether it's okay for me to this, however due to encouragement from a few fellow users I'm re-applying for adminship after many years. I can emulate the standards I set as an admin all those years back (hopefully there are still users around that remember those days; if there are they can vouch for me) and regulate the Fanon when required. Hey Mec here. A few of you remember me from the old days, while newer members mostly saw me edit for the past few months. I am applying for this because I have an interest in maintaining this wiki and keeping the community strong. I was an admin from late 2009 to all of 2010.

Articles I've worked on in the past include expanding the Von Injoface family, demon penguins, and Darktan's army. More recently I've been taking interest in superheroes, but I have other ideas as well. I also created categories for user articles and helped remove adoption templates for inactive users.

I'm a fairly active user, usually coming on every day to make edits, sometimes over 1000 a month. Reasons for edit vary from categorizing, adding details to my own articles, fixing canonical issues, and placing the deletion template on stubs that haven't been improved.

Some bad qualities might be that I have changed several aspects of articles I've adopted, but I am willing to comply with the community or original author if they have a problem. I was also absent from early 2012 to late 2014, so there's probably a bit I missed.

  • With TS demoted and Swiss probably retiring this year, that leaves two spots open for this year (and this isn't even counting the 4+ users who were demoted due to inactivity). And with there now being 2 b-crats, it wouldn't hurt to have the bcrat-admin ratio be in the favor of admins. Plus with the whole "inactive admins can be re-promoted" clause we'd be able to get it back anyways, but it's always good to have the support of the community. Overall I view the ratio as less important as how experienced and dedicated a user is to the wiki. But hopefully we'll gain more editors. Mectrixctic Talk to me!   • I beg to differ. While it is summer, we are experiencing a lack of editors for the season, in my opinion. And also, our admin-user ratio is excellent for our amount. Along side this, we have a lack of real reason to be promoting another one. If in the unlikely case Ninj doesn't win, I would see that you're an admin. However, since we are having him apply, and most likely win, I'm holding back on voting.   • I'm glad you're taking part in the RfA... and you might be ready to be an administrator... But I don't think you've gotten involved with the community enough. You might vote for featured article and stuff, but have you ever gotten involved in the community? Talked to other users, etc? I also didn't know you had made any pages, I thought you had just been making minor edits. So, I'm neutral, but I'd suggest trying to involve yourself more in the community, and on the wiki as a whole, rather than appearing as a "behind the scenes" editor. I think you're a pretty good editor who has contributed much. However, I don't think you've done enough to be an administrator in our current situation. We're probably getting 2 more admins in addition to our six, which will probably be more than 1/3 the active users. The wiki is much more inactive than it was years ago, and we're not having a crisis where one admin is abusing power so others need to be promoted to keep them in check.

Furthermore you've only been editing here since April this year, and while 600+ edits in that time is pretty good, that isn't much compared to what other users have done. I noticed that you aren't a rollback, and it is usually standard for people to apply for that before you apply for adminship.

Also, the fact that you can't think of any bad qualities is rather telling. Nobody is perfect and it takes a good leader to recognize that. Furthermore if you haven't figured out what people didn't like about you and haven't made any mistakes, then I don't feel like you've contributed enough for the community and main space to become an administrator (this is not to say you should deliberately tick people off and make bad decisions).

  • How much time can you contribute to the wiki? I'm usually on the RC, and IRC, every day, even if I'm not editing.
  • What are your good qualities? I think I'm usually fair and neutral on in-universe and out-of-universe issues. I try to be friendly with everyone, and be the good person everyone feels they can come to if they need help or advice.
  • What are your bad qualities? Be honest. I think it's a good quality, but others may disagree- when I set my mind on something, I try to see it through to the end. People sometimes consider me too much of an easy-going guy, a pushover if you will. And, (ironically?) I've had a bad habit of going against authority, and the "norm".
  • Any articles that you have made that you are proud of? Well, I'm not the type of person that makes dozens of HQA articles, I'm more into editing articles with small edits and making things better as a whole. However, see Penquino and Template:CKContribs.
  • What time zone do you live in? Eastern Standard Time, same as Bro, three hours ahead of Swiss.
  • Will you help more with the community, or mainspace? I try to keep a normal interaction with both, administrating and editing.

So, I have my ups and my downs. A lot of people criticize me for sticking up for things I believe in, going against the norm, and being "too nice", a pushover. However, I'm one of the most active admins, and like to think I'm one the fairest and most sensible of us. Now to be fair, I don't need to be a bcrat at all, but I think that I could be a nice Ying to Bro's Yang, which not be possible if he's the only bcrat. I'm not an expert in any one field (drawing, writing, editing, communication), but I'm decent in a number of them. As Bro said, I'm not the oldest, nor most experienced member of this community, in fact being the latest person to join the admin team, but I did join two years ago, and have 3,500+ edits (actually that seems pretty low compared to my 7k+ CPW edits but meh), which I think is quite decent.   • I will not make the same mistake I made a few times before when I voted for CK as admin; I am absolutely against CK being bureaucrat; he has not made many right choices in the past as admin on Fanon, even worse while he was bureaucrat on Shops Wiki.   • We are friends, but I don't think you should a bureaucrat for the following reasons.
  1. Being bossy/a dictator. No offense, but you don't make a good admin either. You change other people articles' continuity that they have OOC rights to without their consent.
  2. Being stubborn. You wouldn't let me do something even though it wasn't against the rules or didn't change continuity. That also might number one, being a dictator.
  3. Slow response to messages/ignoring messages. I don't mean IRC by this, but there are messages I wrote that you never responded to. For a normal user that's ok, but for an admin? No.

  • As for ignoring messages, it happens to the best of us. Sometimes I get busy on wiki or off wiki and I either don't see messages, or don't have the time to reply to them. So, if that happens again feel free to message the user a few days later asking about it again.
