Polaris-City International Airport evacuated over fire in Terminal 7[edit]
POLARIS CITY--Dozens of inbound and outbound flights were diverted, delayed or cancelled in the wake of a fire, beginning at Terminal 7's security checkpoint yesterday. This left numerous vacation-goers, commuters and travellers stranded at the airport terminal for as much as 17 hours. Lania Victoria, who was scheduled to be on an Air Pengolia flight late that evening to Ulaansnowtar told the National: "We're all weary, I'd rather be back at home, with a refund from Air Pengolia in my flipper. It's simply not right for the airline's staff to force us to wait and wait in this airport terminal for such an expansive amount of time." Victoria also quoted that airline workers for the West Pengolian based air carrier kept ensuring passengers of buses to nearby airports in Snowville and Penguville. Unfortunately, the chartered buses scheduled by the airline never arrived
As for the fire, Terrorism or arson has been ruled out as a cause. The fire is said to have originated from loose electrical wiring near the Terminal's full-body scanning devices. Polaris Municipal Fire spokespenguin Melissa Smith was interviewed by our reporters and said: "I will ensure all passngers that the Polaris Municipal Fire is doing it's darndest to restore order at Terminal 7. The fire was controlled in a matter of minutes, however, the damage costs run in the hundreds of thousands. Since this morning, passengers are required to use Terminal 6's security facilities, should they be travelleping through any airline operating out of Terminal 7
