Briefing[edit]
It's a day at the EPF HQ of Club Penguin. The Anti-Terrorism Division's newest agent, Dr. Kowlaski was sitting in his cubicle, gathering intelligence on enemies. He was a backup agent for now. Suddenly, General Rogue Tvarkov, his direct superior, went into his cubicle. Kowlaski stood up and saluted.
Kowlaski:"Good morning madam!"
Agent Rogue:"At ease, agent. We have a new mission. It isn't as dangerous or risky as the other missions that I am handling so we are leaving this to you. If you succeed, you will be given more important missions."
Kowlaski:"Of course. Give me the details and all."
Rogue:"Some wanted fugitives had escaped to Batavia yesterday. You are tasked to hunt them down. Oh and by the way, you will be dealing with some former citizens of USA who immigrated to Batavia as well, to sell Judgies and Doom Weed, since both are legal there. They still run business smuggling the stuff here. Capture them or eliminate them."
Kowlaski:"I'll have some problems with the capture part."
Rogue:"It's simple. You stuff them into your car's trunk and bring them back to a motel. We'd send some agents to bring the captured fugitives back home."
Kowlaski:"What'll be my equipment madam?"
Rogue:"You will be given a silenced pistol. The agents at the motel will provide you with a mini arsenal of weapons. Another thing you will get is a diplomatic bag."
Kowlaski:"Sounds good enough."
Rogue:"We'd intended to give you 600,000 Pebbles as your mission's fund. But we are currently on a budget cut. So you will be given stacks of counterfeit Pebbles worth 15,000. But you wouldn't mind about that since you are rich, right?"
Kowlaski:"I would mind being arrested for counterfeiting money."
Rogue:"About the Pebbles. Most of the stacks of cash are actually C4 bombs. You'll be down to 5,000 Pebbles.
Kowlaski:"Again I wouldn't mind. What time is my flight?"
Rogue:"You better pack up now. Your flight is 4 hours from now."
Kowlaski:"Alright."
Rogue handed Kowlaski a letter.
Rogue:"Here is the list of fugitives."
Kowlaski:"Thanks. I'll get going now."
Kowlaski was just walking out when Rogue said something.
Rogue:"Before you go..."
Kowlaski turned around.
Kowlaski:"Madam?"
Rogue:"I have never said this to you personally, but welcome to the Anti-Terrorism Division. If you need any help in the mission, just call for me. I'll come in an instant."
Kowlaski was surprised. Sure, the general is kind based on his chats with the Lieutenant General and Captain, but she seems to be kinder to him.
Rogue:"I can read your mind, Kowlaski. I'm just worried, I promise. You're a new agent, and I like your attitude. You're facing a world of Judgies and gangsters that led to my nearly fatal injuries back in the time of the PSA."
Kowlaski:"Wait, what?"
Rogue:"You don't have much time. Off you go, you'll be meeting up with an agent."
Kowlaski:"Madam. You know what you're doing, yes?"
Rogue:"Do not question my ways. Just go to Batavia and you'll get more intel once you're there. I'll stay in touch."
Kowlaski:"I... I don't know what to say..."
Rogue:"A 'Yes madam' will work as of now. Now, off you go."
Kowlaski:"Yes madam."
Kowlaski walked out of the HQ and got into his car. He went home and packed his luggage. When he's done, he took a taxi to the airport. Batavia, here he goes.
She didn't need to turn around.
Rogue:"What do you want, Lieutenant General Hepson?"
Adrian stepped into the light.
Adrian:"Morning."
Rogue:"No 'How's your morning?' or 'Had a wonderful sleep?' Hepson, you've lost your manners."
Adrian:"I'm sorry, General Tvarkov."
Rogue:"You don't call me General Tvarkov. You only call me that when you are concerned."
Adrian:"Alright, I'm concerned. So what?"
Rogue:"What is it that you concern?"
Adrian:"Kowlaski. This is his first mission with us, and yet you have him a dangerous one."
Rogue:"Years ago, it was for me. It was one of my first missions."
Adrian:"I remember you saying a few days ago I don't want my agents to land on the same fate as I. What happened to that?"
Rogue:"I want you to look at his file this instant, Hepson. If you still don't agree, you can neutralize me with a sleep-induced bullet and take my place. You can pull him out."
Adrian, being the obedient one, left at once. He never knew that she had Kowlaski's file all along.
Chapter 1:First Target[edit]
The next morning, at a Batavian café. Penguins were eating ther breakfast before going to work. There were some tourists as well. Unknown to an elderly couple, the table beside them where a man sat, was where an EPF pickup was to take place. The lone man stared at the seat before him, an empty seat with a glass of water and some freshly cooked waffles stared back at him. That was when he noticed the pickup truck in front of the cafe.
EPF Agent:"General Tvarkov."
Rogue, who was tuning in using the bugs she requested the agent to wear, spoke.
Rogue:"Talk to me, agent."
EPF Agent:"We've got two brute men outside the cafe, they seem to know our presence."
Rogue:"Initiate Protocol Eight-Oh-Niner this instant. I'll relay the message to your comrade."
EPF Agent:"Over and out."
The agent quickly went to the washroom, and looked under to see if anyone was around. Pleased to find out that no one was around, he climbed into the window. As he fell down into the dumpster, he began to regret using the window. But then again, it was protocol, he had to follow orders. He immediately ran towards the red brick building. He slowed down, he noticed that he was being followed. He gave the man the dry-cleaning tactic. He watched as 4 men ran around, looking for him furiously. He turned around and nearly screamed, but the general shushed him.
Rogue:"Quiet, agent. You don't want your dry-cleaning to fail."
EPF Agent:"General. How did you get here?"
Rogue:"I am not here, I'm just your imagination."
EPF Agent:"What? Uh, okay. Have you told the agent?"
Rogue:"Yes, yes. Do not worry."
EPF Agent:"I am not worrying, dear general."
Rogue:"You are, you're shaking."
EPF Agent:"I must go, my general. I will see you soon."
Rogue:"The place is surrounded by EPF agents, you'll be safe."
Soon, Kowlaski woke up and got dressed. Still suffering from jet-lag, he slowly walked to a cafe near his hotel—coincidentally the one that the pickup agent was 25 minutes ago. Kowlaski walked to the bar. It was hard to read Dutch, even for a man who knows multiple languages.
Barista:"What would you like sir?"
Kowlaski:"10 cups of double-shot espresso. Along with a plate of Batavian pancake."
Barista:"Sir you are crazy. It is illegal here to sell over 7 cups of espresso to someone at a time. "
Kowlaski thought for a while. He tried to reach for his EPF badge, but he couldn't find it. Just then, he got a valid argument.
Kowlaski:"I'll have 7 cups of double-shot espresso then."
The barista glared madly at Kowlaski and went to brewing the drinks. Kowlaski found a seat and sat there. He was lucky. The cafe was full of penguins.
A girl stepped out of a taxi. She walked towards the cafe, and looked around. The scent of coffee was in the air, and she was in need of a good breakfast before going to work.
Girl Penguin:"Oh no... there aren't anymore seats..."
Kowlaski was busy reading a newspaper. Although he was struggling with the Dutch, he can hear Rogue's voice somewhere in his mind.
Rogue:"There will be sunny skies today in Batavia. Although there will be a bit of snowing in the southern areas of Batavia."
Kowlaski:"How do you do this, madam?"
Rogue:"I will say it again. Do not question my ways. Now, there is a girl over there that doesn't have a seat. Be a gentleman and let her take the seat in front of you."
Kowlaski:"Alright, madam. I'll be seeing you in..."
Rogue:"A few weeks."
Kowlaski:"Right. A few weeks."
Kowlaski stood up, and walked towards the girl.
Kowlaski:"Hello madam. I just noticed that you're looking for a seat. You can sit beside me."
Girl Penguin:"Why, thank you."
Kowlaski:"What's your name?"
Girl Penguin:"Marine."
While Kowlaski was chatting with Marine, a luxurious car arrived at the cafe. A bald penguin wearing a blue suit came out of the car and entered the cafe.
Kowlaski:"Who's that rich penguin, Marine."
Marine:"You mean Chuck Johnson? He's from USA. Chuck owns this cafe and some taverns in Penguindam. Gossip said that he got a criminal record back in Antarctica. Anyway, you don't look like a tourist and I'd never seen you at this cafe before."
Kowlaski:"I am a soldier of the war......Uh I mean I am on a business trip. Batavia's a nice place to sell yachts, eh?"
Marine:"Yachts are originally from Batavia."
From his earphone, Rogue said something to Kowlaski.
Rogue:"You nearly got exposed, Kowlaski. This isn't the Academy grounds anymore."
Kowlaski tried to speak back to Rogue, only to be interrupted by Marine. Meanwhile, Chuck's men took out some boxes of Judgies and Doom Weed out of his car. When they were done, Chuck got into his car and started the engine.
Kowlaski:"My secretary's calling. Anyway, here's my business card. Call me anytime soon."
Kowlaski gulped down his coffee and chased after Chuck. Luckily for him, the car stopped at the traffic lights or he'll be out of breath. Kowlaski saw a car and knocked on the car. The driver came out and Kowlaski knocked him out.
When the lights turned green, Kowlaski tailed Chuck and followed him to his villa. Just as Chuck was about to open the gates, Kowlaski sedated him with a needle. He threw the dealer into the car's trunk. After that. Kowlaski drove his car to the pick-up-a motel. The exact pickup agent from the cafe was waiting for Kowlaski.
Kowlaski:"Hey there! Here's Chuck Johnson."
The EPF Agent took out a diplomatic bag. He threw the sedated penguin into the bag.
Kowlaski:"Anyway. Do you have any weapons?"
EPF Agent:"Sure. I have an auto-shotgun, a mini-SMG with unlimited ammo, a RPG and a M16."
Kowlaski:"I'll take the auto-shotgun and the mini-SMG."
Kowlaski grabbed the weapons and left the motel. One down, few more to go.
Chapter 2:Getting Dangerous[edit]
It was two in the morning. Kowlaski was asleep. Suddenly, he heard his personal cellphone ring.
Ring... Ring...
He sighed and groped for it in the darkness. He can hear motorcycles driving through the streets in high speeds. He looked at the screen that was probably the only light source.
Kowlaski:"Blocked. Huh."
He answered the phone, and noticed the drowsy mumbling on the other line.
Rogue:"Да, я подпишу это позже. Я говорю по телефону... (Yes, I'll sign that later. I'm on the phone...)"
Kowlaski:"Madam?"
Rogue snapped awake.
Rogue:"Kowlaski... Kowlaski."
Kowlaski:"Is something wrong, madam?"
Rogue:"I'm terribly sorry for calling you at this time of the night."
Somewhere in where Rogue was, Adrian was screaming to Kowlaski.
Adrian:"Dude! She's coffee-induced!"
Rogue:"Заткнись, капиталистическая свинья! (Shut up, you capitalist pig!)"
Kowlaski:"Madam, you could've just called me later in the day."
Rogue:"Я прекрасно, Kowlaski! (I am perfectly fine, Kowlaski!)"
Adrian:"Rogue, you're not yourself!"
Rogue:"Я сказал, заткнись, вы коммунист! (I said shut up, you communist!)"
Kowlaski scratched his head.
Kowlaski:"You called him a capitalist pig a while ago... now a commie?"
Rogue:"Get back to work!"
With that, Rogue dropped the phone. There was a bit of shuffling was heard until someone picked it up.
Adrian:"Sorry. Had to sedate her. She hasn't been sleeping."
Kowlaski:"Oh. Really? Why?"
Adrian:"She's been doing stuff... to aid you in your mission."
Kowlaski:"How?"
Adrian:"She's been keeping touch with Batavian friends all of the sudden. She's been purchasing plane tickets that she can activate. She's also been alerting the EPF Batavian Base."
Kowlaski:"She's doing all of this... for me?"
Adrian:"Yes. She didn't choose your mission in the first place. The Director did. That's why her concern is directly at you. She had a mission like this, she infiltrated a gang cartel. She ended up with a tattered uniform, a wounded wing, and a scarred face."
Kowlaski:"She had a mission just like mines?"
Adrian:"She knows of your weaknesses. If you loose too much blood in the battlefield, you'll be in a critical situation. That was the same fate she had years ago."
Kowlaski:"Alright."
Adrian:"Now, go back to sleep."
A few hours later, Kowlaski woke up. After getting dressed up and shaving his face, he got into his (stolen) car and drove to a tavern-the ones legalized to sell doom weed. He loaded his gun and went in.
Waiter:"Sir what type of Doom Weed would you like?"
Kowlaski:"The regular type."
The waiter gave the order to the bar's Doom Weed specialist. He brought a jar of Doom Weed to Kowlaski.
Expert:"Here's your weed."
Kowlaski scanned the environment. A penguin that appeared to be the bar's manager was looking at him. He could see a revolver in his pocket. Without further interruption, Kowlaski consumed the Doom Weed.
Kowlaski:"I do believe that you serve vodka, right?"
Waiter:"Why sure."
Kowlaski:"Good. I would like 3 bottles."
The waiter ran off to a frigde and found 3 bottle of vodka. When he's done, he delivered them to Kowlaski.
Waiter:"Enjoy."
Kowlaski drank a whole bottle of it in just a few seconds. When the waiter was gone, Kowlaski took out his phone and took a photo of the manager. After some loading, his info came out. Kowlaski muttered.
Kowlaski:"One of the thugs that was responsible for Rogue's injury..."
He drank the second bottle and grabbed a piece of cloth nearby. Putting it into his inventory, Kowlaski drank the third bottle.
Kowlaski:"Waiter! I would like 2 more bottles!!"
The waiter returned in a short while with the 2 bottles of vodka. Kowlaski drank the 4th bottle and put a cloth on top of the last bottle, creating a Molotov Cocktail. He lighted up the Molotov and threw it at the manager, hitting him in his head. When the manager was being burned, Kowlaski took out his gun and killed the manager. The waiter tried to stab Kowlaski with a knife but ends up getting shot to death. He quickly took care of everyone inside with his needle and went to the manager's office. He found some files sent from a government building.
Kowlaski:"They have a department to deal with Doom Weed and Judgies? I know what to do later..."
With that said, Kowlaski walked out of the bar. When he got out, he saw one of his target getting onto a motorcycle. Quickly starting his engine, Kowlaski chased after the motorcycle. Kowlaski drove his car near the target's motorcycle and accelerated his speed, knocking the motorcyclist off his bike. The target got injured.
Kowlaski:"General Tvarkov. Another target captured. "
Rogue:"Don't try to relax. The more targets you eliminate, the more ruthless the fugitives will be."
Kowlaski:"I'd been in the front line of every war involving USA, madam. I'd dealt with tanks and War Mechs while healing soldiers."
Rogue:"The main difference between EPF and military is that your enemies doesn't wear uniforms."
Kowlaski:"All right madam. I'll watch my back."
With that, Rogue went offline and Kowlaski received a call from Marine.
Marine:"Hey Kowlaski! Do you want to go to a theatre to watch a play with me?"
Kowlaski:"Why sure! Meet me at the cafe that we met each other 3 hours later. "
While Kowlaski and Marine was chatting, the scene switched to Honk Gong. In a mansion, a crime lord named Lü Haowei was pouring a drink of whiskey for himself. When he was about to drink it, a man came in.
Mobster:"Boss! The number of Doom Weed delivered from Batavia yesterday decreased!"
Haowei:"Did the quality decrease?"
Mobster:"No sir. They are good as the old things."
Haowei:"Who is responsible?"
Mobster:"I am not sure boss. What I heard is that an EPF agent was responsible for some of our associates' capture.
Haowei:"What's his name?"
Mobster:"Those rumor penguins said that the penguin's name was Kowlaski or something."
Haowei:"Well, I sorta remember him. I saw this guy in a newspaper once. Talked about this guy being a war hero and stuff."
Mobster:"What should I do boss?"
Haowei:"Bring me my phone and continue your normal business."
The mobster brought Haowei his icePhone and left the mansion. Haowei dialed a number and called a man who was waiting for a "job"-his cousin.
Haowei:"Hello ! I've got a job for you, Haoyang."
Haoyang:"Depends what is it about."
Haowei:"Kill the USA war hero Kowlaski. He's currently at Batavia disturbing our trade."
Haoyang:"Alright. How much will you pay me?"
Haowei:"250,000 Pebbles."
Haoyang:"If he's a normal citizen, then I would accept that amount."
Haowei:"Fine. 650,000 Pebbles."
Haoyang:"That's better. I'll find him."
Haoyang hanged up his phone. He was currently at a restaurant drinking the local milk tea.
Haoyang:"How much is this?"
Waitress:"35 Pebbles."
Haoyang handed the waitress the money and left the restaurant, heading for his house. Once there, he took some weapons with him and left Hong Gong, heading for Batavia.
Chapter 3:Truth Revealed[edit]
It's another day at Penguindam. Kowlaski was eating his lunch in a Fisch & Chips when Rogue contacted him.
Rogue:"Agwnt Kowlaski. We'd received an intel. A mob boss had sent an assassin to get rid of you. Be careful and watch your back."
Kowlaski:"I will, madam. I will."
Rogue:"There is a Doom Weed production operation just out of town. It's run by some of the fugitives. You know what to do, Kowlaski."
Kowlaski:"Yes madam."
Kowlaski quickly finished the fish and chips and got into his car. Loading his auto-shotgun, Kowlaski drove to the factory. When he arrived, Kowlaski walked out of his car.
Kowlaski:"Well this'll take a while..."
A padlock was on the door.
Rogue:"Relax, Kowlaski. Just think that this is the Academy grounds again... except you're being timed."
Kowlaski stared at the insides of the lock before taking out a small pack with lock picks in it. He took out a hook-like pick and a toothy pick. He then inserted the two before eventually opening the lock. He was welcomed with gunfire.
Kowlaski:"So they knew. Welcome me."
Rogue:"Quiet Kowlaski. I'm trying to find a pattern in the gunshots."
Kowlaski:"Pattern?"
Rogue:"Yes, a pattern. If the sound of the bullet is the same or not in various ways, I can detect where those thugs are."
Kowlaski:"Wow..."
Rogue:"Yes, now shut up and let me concentrate."
Several minutes passed, nothing was heard from the other line. The bullets were going faster, and more accurate.
Kowlaski:"General Tvarkov?"
A bullet ripped into his tuxedo and dug into his wing. He gritted his teeth to avoid screaming.
Kowlaski:"General... Tvar... kov."
Still, nothing was heard on the other line.
Kowlaski:"General Tvarkov!"
Just then, he heard a new sound of gunshots. Then the whole thing ceased. He looked up.
Marine:"Hurry, before reinforcements come."
Kowlaski:"Marine?"
Marine:"Yes it's me, Kowlaski. I'm not a ghost or a figment of your imagination."
Kowlaski:"I am aware of that. I just want to know why you're here, and how you got in here."
Marine:"I'll explain later. Right now, mission abort."
Kowlaski only stared at her dimly before heading out of the warehouse, ensuring that Marine was following.
He pulled up the car in front of the hotel he's staying in.
Marine:"Why are we here?"
Kowlaski:"I'm keeping you here with me until I find out who you really are."
Marine gulped. She didn't do anything wrong.
They were already in his hotel room. It was dark, and the sound of house music can be heard from the other side. Someone must be having a party.
Kowlaki:"Who are you really?"
Marine:"Let me explain—"
Kowlaski:"What'll you tell me now, more lies?"
Marine:"But just listen—"
Kowlaski:"I trusted you. What makes you think that you can deceive me just like—"
Marine:"LISTEN!"
Kowlaski went quiet. He didn't want her to rant.
Marine:"I was contacted by a good friend of mine days ago, they explained—"
Kowlaski:"They? Who's they?"
Marine:"I'd rather keep them a secret. Just shut up and listen. Now, they told me you were having the same assignment as mine. I am in the police force."
Kowlaski:"I understand. Now, can you please tell me who this friend is?"
"Me."
Kowlaski turned to find his general in the corner. She was cradling her left wing at the same time leaning on the wall for support.
Marine:"Rogue?"
Rogue:"Agent Kowlaski... I'm the one who contacted her."
Rogue's eyes fluttered close as she faltered. Marine ran to catch her. Luckily, Rogue fell to her left, and the wall caught her. Marine placed Rogue's wing around her shoulder and tried her best to direct the Russian to the bed. Once that was done, Marine looked towards Kowlaski, who was just quiet.
Kowlaski:"How did she—?"
Marine:"I need to explain this. Dear Benny if only she's still awake..."
Kowlaski went to check his general.
Kowlaski:"Yeah she'll be fine."
Kowlaski took out his needle. He filled it with some serum and injected Rogue with it. Minutes later, she regain consciousness.
Rogue:"Where am I?"
Rogue panicked.
Marine:"You're in Batavia, silly."
Rogue stared at Marine with dark blue eyes. At first it looked rather dull, then it widened.
Rogue:"Oh, OH. Right, right. Sorry."
Marine:"Kowlaski here needs an explanation."
Rogue stared at Kowlaski, who gave her a sharp glare.
Rogue:"Well, it all began when you were still being trained in the Academy. You were great. Had that the highest grades in poisons ever since Estov. So I told the Director that you be assigned to the Anti-Terrorism. You were, and I was forced to give you the gang mission you are doing now."
Kowlaski:"Alright, I understand. But how on earth did you get here in a few seconds?"
Rogue:"Well, I am a Tvarkov."
Kowlaski:"What does being a Tvarkov have to do with you teleporting, madam?"
Rogue:"The Tvarkovs are very powerful in Rusca. There is a certain thing in our DNA that lets us do these things..."
Kowlaski:"So the rumors are true..."
Rogue's head snapped towards Kowlaski.
Rogue:"Wait you actually listen to the gossip?"
Kowlaski:"What? I was just eavesdropping the conversation of two hot agents."
Rogue:"Kowlaski..."
She faceflippered while he just shrugged.
Kowlaski:"Hey, it wasn't my fault."
Rogue:"Look the only rumors in there that are actually true is that I am part of a powerful Ruscan family, that I have a twin, and that I flunked Interpersonal 1 in the Academy."
Kowlaski chuckled while Marine asked.
Marine:"Who is your twin?"
Rogue:"Seecret."
The trio stay quiet. Rogue speaks up.
Rogue:"An impromptu special force shall be made against these people. Are you with me, Kowlaski and Marine?"
Kowlaski looked towards Marine, then at Rogue.
Kowlaski:“Sure.”
Marine:“Yeah. Sure.”
Rogue:”Kowlaski, think. Do you want this position?”
Kowlaski:”What position?”
Rogue:”I am appointing you as team leader.”
Kowlaski stopped. He thought for a while.
Rogue:”Remember, you’ll be making the decisions. Whatever happens to us will be your decision.”
He remained quiet.
Kowlaski:”I accept the position.”
Rogue:”Excellent.”
Rogue stood up, and walked to the door.
Rogue:”Wake up early, lovebirds.”
Before Kowlaski could react, she slammed the door.
Chapter 4: Violence, It’s Not the Key[edit]
Rogue:”Hey Kowlaski, come look at this.”
Kowlaski walked to Rogue, who was on the bed. She was looking at something through her laptop.
Rogue:”Remember those thugs that ran off? It happened that they shot several penguins just to get them out of the way.”
Kowlaski blinked twice before getting his gun.
Kowlaski:”Get Marine.”
Rogue stood up.
Rogue:”What?”
Kowlaski:”We’re to hunt down some Doom Weed thugs…”
Marine looked at Rogue. Rogue looked at Kowlaski.
Rogue:"You sure it's gonna work?"
Kowlaski:"Yeah. I mean, what could go wrong?"
Out of nowhere, a group of well dressed penguins walked out of a hangar. One was heavily guarded by some tough looking penguins.
Marine:"That."
Kowlaski:"Oh, crap. The meeting ended a few minutes earlier than expected."
Rogue:"Why oh why does Benny hate me...."
Kowlaski:"So we're minutes out of schedule. New plan: attack."
Rogue:"Might as well."
Marine:"Uh... Guys? Did anyone notice the they had their guns dra-"
Before she knew it, both Kowlaski and Rogue dragged her to a nearby shadow.
The group halted.
Penguin 1:"Oi! Did anyone hear that?"
Penguin 2:"You mean that slight flutter in the wind?"
Penguin 1:"Well, yeah."
Boss Penguin:"Our guests are here."
The group hummed to agree. A few more gusts of wind blew until an eerie silence ensued.
Boss Penguin:"Tvarkov! Kowlaski! Get your feathers out of the shadows!"
Rogue:"Goodness, Kowlaski! No wonder Dot gave you an 85 in Stealth!"
Kowlaski:"I can't take my eyes off the boss penguin's daughter, all right?!"
Rogue faceflippered. The boss penguin growled while his daughter coughed.
Rogue:"Darn it Kowlaski..."
The two jumped out of the shadows.
Boss Penguin:"Great to see you! You are very late for the meeting, y'know?"
Rogue:"We're not here to chat. We're here to arrest you for possession of Doom Weed. You're coming with us."
Boss Penguin:"Oh dear, you think I'll go that easily? You must be insane."
Rogue:"Correction: Insanely serious."
Boss Penguin:"I've warned you, dearie. Attack!"
Six guards ran to Kowlaski and Rogue, who already took defensive positions. Rogue threw a knife at one of them while shooting one of them with a deletion pistol. She looked at Kowlaski, who was wrestling off a guard.
Rogue:"You alright?"
She asked this while narrowly dodging a guard who wanted to pin her.
Kowlaski:"Pretty much!"
Rogue:"Great. Think you can handle this yourself?"
She also said this while throwing a few punches at a guard before kicking him.
Kowlaski:"Uh... Yeah, I can handle it!"
Rogue:"Good! I'm gonna go for the boss!"
Kowlaski nodded before catching a deletion pistol from Rogue. He shot the penguin he was wrestling with it. Rogue ran at the boss, who already called in 3 more guards to stop her. She quickly shot two of them with an ice bullet pistol and threw the gun at the last guard's head, as she ran out of bullets. He quickly called in 6 guards. Meanwhile, Kowlaski was in a shooting spree, shooting every guard which was at least 5 meters within sight.
Kowlaski:"Does this thing ever run out of bullets?!"
Out of nowhere, he ran out of bullets.
Kowlaski:"Oh, come on!"
Rogue:"Use the gun as a clobbering weapon!"
He nodded and began to hit guards hard in the head with the back of the gun. Before he knew it, a deletion pistol magazine was thrown at him. Meanwhile, Rogue threw a guard off her and took out a knife. She began to rapidly slash her knife at the remaining guards before she was face-to-face with the boss.
Rogue:"Get this through your head: Don't dare me."
Boss Penguin:"Right, like you can scare me!"
Out of nowhere, he took out a knife and quickly slashed at her. Blood seeped from her wound, but it didn't heal that quickly. She looked at him, her eyes squinted.
Rogue:"Is that-"
Boss Penguin:"Yes, dearie. This knife's blade is lined with silver."
Rogue frowned and began to throw punches at him.
Kowlaski:"This is going to be a long night..."
Chapter 5: The Dragon Lord's Cousin[edit]
Two days have passed. Most of the minor injuries were healed, but the major injuries were halfway through the healing process.
Kowlaski:"When can I kick butt again? It's been weeks already..."
Rogue:"Kowlaski, it's only been two days."
Marine:"Why are you already healed?"
Rogue:"Tvarkov Serum."
Kowlaski groans and continues pressing the ice pack on his face. Marine was opposite of him, grumbling about falling a story down. Rogue looked out the window, peering through the blinds.
Rogue:"We've been here for too long."
Kowlaski looks at her.
Kowlaski:"What makes you say that?"
Rogue looks out the window once more. There was a parked car there, and a penguin in a black clad outfit waiting beside it.
Rogue:"A car has been out there for the past few days."
Marine:"It might be one of your agents."
Rogue:"I haven't contacted HQ ever since I got to Batavia."
Everyone became silent.
Kowlaski:"I'm packing."
Rogue and Marine nodded and immediately set to work.
As the trio immediately ran out of their hotel room, Rogue stopped on her tracks.
Rogue:"Let's take the fire exit."
Marine:"Are you seri-"
Rogue:"Yes. Very."
They ran into the fire exit where they jumped down the stairs. They had to move quick, and they had to move now.
The three skid into a halt. It's been 3 hours. They have been exhausted.
Marine:"Well... what now?"
Rogue and Kowlaski was silent. They were thinking of what to do.
Rogue:"Well, time to call the EPF."
Rogue took out her Spy Phone and speed dialed the Anti-Terrorism Main Office.
Operator:"Hello, you are calling the EPF Anti-Terrorism Main Office. What is it that you'd like to inquire about?"
Rogue:"This is Bloodshedder."
Operator:"Ah, General Tvarkov. Who would you like to talk to?"
Rogue:"I would like to speak to Hepson, please. Thanks."
Silence was heard on the other line, other than the chattering of agents in the background. Finally, her call was rerouted to the Lieutenant General's office.
Adrian:"Ah, General Tvarkov. As much as how I'd love to be relieved at the fact that you're alive, I'd like to ask. Where the hell have you been for the past few days?"
Rogue:"I don't see how a few days of not being present in the office hurts."
Adrian:"Rogue. You've been missing for 2 weeks."
Rogue:"Oh."
Adrian:"We had to stop Jason from choking your brother. Do you even know how much it took to calm him down and relocate your brother to one of your safe houses?"
Rogue:"Do tell."
Adrian:"Two whole days."
Rogue:"That's surprising. Haven't you people learned that 2 whole days is freakishly long?"
Adrian:"Whatever, Tvarkov."
Rogue:"Now, on to why I called. What are the safe houses the ATD has in Batavia?"
Adrian:"Exactly where in Batavia?"
Rogue:"Eh... just Batavia. Go trace my call, I don't really have an idea on where we are in Batavia."
The clicking of the mouse was heard on the other line. Then, he spoke.
Adrian:"5 miles east from where you're standing. There is a blue apartment block. Get Apartment 12."
Rogue:"The keys?"
Adrian:"I'm surprised, General Tvarkov. You don't have the keys?"
Rogue:"I didn't have time to get the keys or know the nearest safe houses."
Adrian:"What on earth did the Academy teach you?"
Rogue:"You are risking probation, Hepson."
Adrain sighed then said.
Adrian:"There's a spare key under the mat."
Rogue:"Typical."
