Las Felipenas, in English The Fenipines is a Castillan colony. It is Castilla's most distant territory when it comes to culture since most natives no longer speak Spanish as commonly as they had 100 years ago.

History[edit]

Discovery of the Fenipines[edit]

A Lisboaguese traitor and then Castillan adventurer named Magdelano thought that there was more than what is now Ninja Archipelago to discover and colonize. So they headed to what's now the Asiapelago and landed on the Felipenas's island of Mariaktan. From there he met Datu Araya, the early leader of their government. He agreed to the Castillan's way of ruling and they had a partnership. Magdelano did this to two other islands until he landed on Morias island. Back then Lariak was the datu of Morias, and disagreed to the Castillan's way of ruling. Furious, Magdelano left and the next day, brought the joint forces of the three islands and his men. The Morias were outnumbered but fought anyway. They won, with Magdelano and many other men killed and a few retreating to their ships. This was the first battle in the Fenipines.

Castillan Conquest[edit]

Years after the first battle, the Castillans sent an armada to the Fenipines. The Fenipenos tried to fend them off but failed to do so due to their lack of technology. The Castillans immediately took hold of all the islands quickly and established their rule over them. Inhabitants were soon forced to work for the Castillans as laborers in fruit plantations. The Castillans established a couple cities of their architecture around the area and made a half hearted effort to "Castillanize" the natives since the islands were mainly used as a trade stop in the Castillan Silver business, much of which came from Beru and Caltexico and was frequently being sold to the Zhouese. Hence, many Zhouese traders settled down in the islands due to their ideal econonomic position and climate; they intermingled with Castillans and Felipena natives. Natives of the islands fell short to being on the bottom of the social pyramid, though some were lucky to become the spouses of Castillan settlers, and the population mixed a bit. Eventually, the Castillans established Higher Education Schools to further educate the natives so that some of them could have a larger chance at having a better job.

Castillan-Fenipines War[edit]

A usual attitude of Felipenos to this day, they wanted freedom and would do anything for it. So a guerilla group was made for penguins who want to overthrow the Castillan government and take the nation by themselves. Once the Castillans found out, they were furious and the two started a full-scale war on each other. The Felipenos fought hard, but the Castillans were always one step ahead. When they found out that a woman named Maria Espinoza was married to a Castillan general, they urged her to persuade military secrets from her own husband. At first she refused, but then she realized why. She managed to get military plans out of her husband and reported it to the rebels. Once he found out, he was furious and killed many imprisoned Felipenos. His wife pleaded four mercy and reasoned him, and he was merciful enough to understand. Finally after several tears of bloodshed and pain, the Felipenos became independent.

Struggle as a Republic[edit]

Many problems were faced by the Felipenos. Antarctican and Japalandese troops kept on colonizing them. The military of the Felipenas fell, and men were forced to leave their ordinary lives to fight for the Fenipines. With the loss of their lovers, women decided to work as spies of the armies or as medics during these cold times. As the economy fell as well, more and more protests occurred, all having one cry: to bring the Castillans back. At one point, a blizzard left hundred thousands homeless and hundreds dead, with no food to spare. The Fenipines had a draught, and many died as well. The government tried it's best, but the best they could give back then was only enough to keep a small portion of the big country alive.

Castillan Re-Annexation[edit]

During the draught, the Felipeno government begged the Castillans to re-annex, since they didn't want the population to drop and the economy collapse. The then Felipeno president, Romell Zamora, actually went all the way to Castilla to beg in front of the king himself, on his knees. The king, pitying his ex-colony's president, agreed to only three conditions. One is that they must not rebel against the Castillans anymore, they must follow the rules from His Royal Highness, and finally, must live and work with Castillans with whole-heartedness and with harmony. The Felipeno president practically yelled 'yes', and he signed the decree. Soon, Castillan forces and social workers came to the Felipenas and shooed away the Antarcticans and Japalandese, and aided the dying Felipenos. The country was practically saved.

Present[edit]

Felipenos and Castillans continue to go along together. The country, being slightly autonomous, is being closely guarded by Castilla. It continues to trade with many other countries, and is slowly growing stronger and stronger.

Government[edit]

Military[edit]

In total, the Felipeno military consists of 250,000 troops, including the special forces, policemen, and Felipenas-situated Castillan militants. Although they are of great number, their weapons are rather outdated yet effective. The soldiers are skilled to hand-to-hand combat, but are rather shady when it comes to counterterrorism. Due to this, an unusual amount of EPF Anti-Terrorism agents have been deployed here, per order of the General. They have an excellent army, but have a rather weak navy. Their air forces have been taken special interest to by the Ambassador of Felipenas. The military continues to steadily grow.

Culture[edit]

The Felipeno culture is rather unique and colorful.

Architecture[edit]

Felipines is a country with colorful buildings. It still has traces of Castilla in the buildings, but it was either repaired or plain copied. The architecture of the country is usually big and somehow supreme when it comes to government buildings, and pretty with a variety of colors for residential buildings.
