Komo is the small Capital of Vailand, and is the only city on the island. Komo is known for its distinct Japalandese culture, which sticks out more than the rest of the island.

Background[edit]
Komo was founded in 1737 as a Japalandese fort. Back then, only 400 penguins lived there and there are only 23 recorded puffle sightings between 1737 and 1812. The founder of Komo was Immono Komoto, a Japalandese explorer. He also had a group of 45 penguins with him when he founded the city during an expedition. However, the native Vainesians attacked in 1817, and drove most of the Japalandese out. Komo still maintained its Japalandese culture, though, and some Japalandese penguins still remained there, in hiding.
In 1901, the Puffish rediscovered the island, and they kept the colony in peace and harmony because of their superior power over the Vainesian natives. In 1915, the island was attacked by the Khanzem Third Reich and the Puffish and Khanz fought over the city, especially more importantly than the island. A few months later, the Puffish managed to keep control of the island, but their forces were heavily weakened. With this, the natives attacked once-more and pushed the Puffish out. Komo remained native territory until 2013, when Shoppers occupied the island and put the Japalandese penguins in as the legitimate heads of the city.
Places[edit]
There aren't many interesting places in Komo, but the only interesting places to visit are public service locations, and shops here and there. These include the 200-year-old Ko Hospital, the ironically wooden fire station, its intricate banking district, Komo's many souvenir shops, beaches that line the coast of the city, and a mountain that can be seen in the background of the city.
Culture[edit]
Komo's culture is heavily influenced by Japaland, both in their food and architecture. When the Vainesians pushed the Japalandese out in 1815, the Vainesians liked the food and architecture so much that they kept it. Japalandese clothing also made a quick comeback when Vailand became a Shopper colony. The Puffish also left their mark, with a tiny bit of Puffish colonial architecture scattered around Komo, and English is also a commonly spoken language.
