Love Flies are an extinct species of flies that used to inhabit Love Island. They are often mentioned in pop culture, as "mystical" insects that would spread love from one penguin to another if they got bitten.

History[edit]
Love Flies are said to have originated from regular flies from South America. The flies must've flown south and reached Love Island, as it was as south as they could comfortably go. In this new environment, they adapted to their surroundings, and changed form and color. Eventually, some ethnic penguin tribes began to inhabit Love Island, and the flies were hunted down as pests. However, some legends about the love flies were formed at the same time. In 2013, when Shops took over Love Island, the love flies were driven and hunted to absolute extinction.
Legends[edit]
Many legends surround the Love Flies, such as those stating that if you get bitten by one, you'll fall in love with the next penguin of the opposite gender that you see. Another one is that they carved Love Island into its shape to be a heart-shaped island, and that they were turned red by a magical fairy that was the symbol of love, especially on Valentines day. Love Flies are also called Cupid Flies by some penguins.
Food[edit]
Love Flies relied on plant nectar and water to stay alive. Love Flies were herbivorous, which means they didn't eat meat. If plant nectar wasn't available, Love Flies were known to eat plant leaves in desperate situations. Love Flies were also common bait for Love Island's tribal penguins, and wild puffles.
