The National Defense Act is an act introduced into Snowiny in 2015, in response to the Antarctic War on Terrorism. Mostly inspired after the Margatian Special Offences Act, the act allowed the nation's security agents to conduct surveillance on penguins who are suspected to be terrorists, as well as allowing the terrorist suspects to be arrested, detained and interrogated. This act has put great damage on the UP ideals of freedom and democracy, and the act has been denounced by many civil rights activists.
