The Notronean Liberation Movement (today known as the Libertarian Party of Notron) was a short-lived political organization made with the goal of setting free the planet of Notron, and promoting freedom, charity, and democracy throughout Antarctica and Notron. The organization mainly consists of refugees who fled from Notron during the Liberation of Planet 1984. Its operating languages were English, German and French, the languages spoken on Notron.

The Notronean Liberation Movement was founded during the height of the war and Liberation of Planet 1984, in which many Notroneans fled their home world and sought refuge in Shops Island, where the government accepted them with open arms. As the Shoppers gained significant momentum while fighting on Notron, these refugees, namely Wilson Schmidt, who was the first Notronean to come to Shops Island, decided it was their time for action. They concluded that it was now possible to influence the conflict in their and the Shoppers' interests. They formed their own organization from the security of Shops Island, to promote Notronean interests. They also encouraged rebellion in the countries of Notron: Orwellia, Verpomia and Ouestland. After Notron was liberated, the Notronean Liberation Movement had achieved its goal. Its head, Wilson Schmidt, was installed as the prime minister of the new Notronean dominion and the Notronean Liberation Movement became known as the Libertarian Party of Notron.
Involvement[edit]
The Notronean Liberation Movement was responsible for representing the peoples of Notron in many cases, as well as promoting the interest of Notron both at home and abroad. They fought bravely in the Liberation of Planet 1984, being able to go undercover as spies and sabotage operations behind enemy lines. They also supplied millions of Notroneans to the effort against the countries of Notron. The Notronean Liberation Movement had been widely regarded as a source for positive change both on Notron and in Antarctica.
Legal Standing[edit]
When is was first established, the Notronean Liberation Movement was classed as a "political organization", because at the time it did little more than represent the interests of the Notronean people. Over time however, it became reclassified as a "revolutionary organization". However, many others considered them to be a political party, as the movement acted very much like one, even going to the point of advertising and electing their members. Political parties were banned by the Shopper constitution, so a loophole would have to be made to remedy the problem. So, president Lavender declared the Notronean Liberation movement as a "government in-exile" so that they could maintain their actions without being in violation of Shopper laws.
Legacy[edit]
The Notronean Liberation Movement has been remembered by both the Shoppers and on Notron as a key figure in liberating the planet. The movement gained much popular support on Notron, and became the most popular political party as the new Libertarian Party. Many statues and honors have been erected and given to those who fought with the Notronean Liberation Movement during the liberation of Notron.
