The Federal Republic of Polaris, also reffered to as FR Polaris, the Polaris SAD, and The Polarian Republic, is an independent, federated presidential republic stradling the Northwest Eastshield coast and the Happyface State coastline. The country is divided by the Polaris River, where much of the Polarian population is concentrated. The Federal Republic is comprised of 10 states, and possesses three territories, Amery Island, Sanders Islands and Sovereign Base Areas.

Federal Republic of Polaris stretches from the Polarian side of San Juan Island, Santa Cruz Island, all thirty seven Juno Islands to a border segregating the Castillan realm of Ciudad Vieja, and the Two2 Annex, which kept all of the exclaves tied together. The Polarian Republic covers over 310,000 sq. miles, and has a total population of 49,672,262, and it's largest city is Polaris City, which is also the capital.

Until 2000, the Polarian Republic was a collection of fifty six counties, municipalities and cities in Northwest Eastshield, as well as a portion of of the Happyface State. However, there have been ongoing Polarian independence movements within the city and much of Northwest Eastshield since 1997, following the dissolution of Colonial Antarctica.

History

Khanzem era (1913-1942)

During the Khanzem era, the majority of the present day Federal Republic of Polaris was ruled under the regime of Kingfish, in the Penguin's Republic of the Polar Islands, based in Polaris City at the time. The Kingfish regime was reminiscent of the fascist, far-right ideology of the area at the time, and had elected a General Congress, whose elections, held once every two years were biased in favour of the Khanzem Party, the sole party within the Penguin's Realm that was legal to participate in elections.

During the reign of Kingfish, which had lasted until 1942, following a opular overthrow of the ailing Kingfish regime in Polaris City, much of the present-day infrastructure, such as roads and seaports had been created in order to simulate trade within the territory, which it ultimately did. Although the regime was strictly socialist, it stimulated growth in the agriculture, mining, manufacturing and transportation in the Polar Islands. By 1918, the Khanzem regime had lost ground across Antarctica; and eventually was toppled, with the exception of the Polar Islands, where Khanzem support remained popular among the general Polarian populace.

The banking system of Polaris had also been developed in 1935, with the signage of the National Bank Act by Kingfish, establishing two state-controlled banks, and three joint-venture banks, in which 51% of the banks were held by shareholders. The Polarian National Reserve (then known as the Polar Island Federal Treasury Reserve) had also been established, holding money for creditors within the Polar Islands.

In 1942, the "Liberal Revolution" commenced in Polaris City, with a dramatic rise in taxes from 44% to 76% for all Polarian citizens. Inflation began to rise within the Polar Islands, thus subjecting many Polarians into states of squalor and poverty. The revolution was met with heavy government and military opposition, killing at least 65 penguins and injuring more than 660 during the uprisings, which were mostly peaceful, but had escalated into violence in several regions of the Polar Islands. The regime's leader, Kingfish, had resigned and fled Polaris City, and Water Kingdom rule over the Polar Islands, which was altered to the District of Polaris was created.

Water Kingdom (1942-1990)

The Water Kingdom had assumed power over the newly-created district of Polaris. The socialist shackles placed on the Polarian economy were all but removed in the Polaris SAD. Michael Barrett, the first Governor of the District of Polaris had inititated exploration of the Polarian mountains, in which coal, iron and copper were discovered. The discovery sparked a boom in the Polarian economy and had resulted in hundreds of thousands flocking to Polaris, eager for work. The Polarian government had also held its first fully free democratic elections, every four years. The dominant party system in place in Polaris today began in the 1943 election, in which 75% of the 150 member Assembly of Representatives were PDP members.

Water Kingdom rule had increased Polarian quality-of-life and the country's purchasing power and GDP. More manufacturing jobs had been created as a result of increased economic liberalization, and the amount of those residing in the city had reached 65% by 1955. During the 1960s, the district had achieved even greater autonomy, which transferred foreign affairs and health care to Polarian control, albeit military and monteray policies were still the responsibility of the Water Kingdom government. Though the Polarian population was expected to increase dramatically in the 1960s and 70s, an increase in jobs had slowed the growth rate of Polarians, and had allowed the Polarian government to accept increasing waves of immigrants.

By 1980, Polaris and its capital were one of the economic and cultural powerhouses of the continent, having opened a stock exchange, and was the headquarters of several banks and financial instutions. Culturally speaking, Polaris have introduced several popular culture fads, such as raves and the Reverse movement to the Antarctic cultural scene. Polaris City also became the 3rd largest city in the Antarctic, at 5.5 million residents

With the collapse of the Water Kingdom regime, there came about new challenges for the Polarian government, having no support from the Water Kingdom government, as the governors representing the Water Kingdom had resigned, following several controversies and heavy public disapproval of the Water Kingdom.

Colonial Antarctica (1990-1999)

As STINC control of the Antarctic was decimated, and ultimately defeated by the invading Puffish forces, the Polarian Territory was the first to rebel against the

Government and Politics

The Polarian Republic is directly governed by the autonomous Legislative Congress of Polaris, which was officially declared the official governance of the Polarian Republic on July 24, 2011. As a result of the manifestation of the new Legislative Congress, the Polaris City Council was declared nullified and permanently ceased after numerous decades governing over Polaris. The City Councils of Snowville, Enderby City, and Penguville were also closed, along with 54 other municipal government offices. The smaller cities are currently Administrative Divisions, and are now governed by an Administrative Commission, with the quorum of members being proportional to each of the municipalities' population numbers.

There are currently two houses in the Legislative Congress, which are the Senate (upper house) and the Assembly of Representatives, serving as the lower house. However, the Executive Administrative Council, a collective head of state, currently comprising of the 10 former Vice Mayors and Mayors of the cities of Polaris, Enderby City, Penguville and Snowville. The Assembly of Representatives comrpises of 380 single-seat constituencies, currently comprised of the members of the 56 municipalities' former governing staff. The Assembly of Representatives is the origin of almost all bills ordained by the Legislative Congress. The Assembly is the only chamber that may vote to override a veto by the Executive Administrative Council. Impeachment of EAC Councillors and President is also done through the Assembly. The Senate, is the upper body of the legislature, however, the Assembly of Representatives has more legislative power. The Senate is made up of 120 elected Senator, elected from 120 Senate election districts. The first election for the Senate was on July 28, 2011, with 119 Polaris Democratic Party members and one Continental Union Party member elected.

The Polaris Executive Administrative Council appoints department ministers, which manage the Polarian Republic's services, such as Health, Transportation and Education. All ministers are Senate members, under the Polaris National Constitution of 2011, passed on July 29, 2011, and immediately came into effect. The Polaris Executive Administrative Council is indirectly chosen by the Assembly of Representatives, who elect them every 3 years. The position of President is chosen by the Senate every 5 years. The Council is integrated into the Legislature. At any time, the Polaris Legislative Congress can impeach and recall any member of the Council, by any means necessary.

Political parties

As of July 2011, there are three mainstream political factions in Polaris. The political divisions in Polaris are excessively Polaris, with an expansive number of liberals, moderates and far-rightists. The party presently controlling the government is the Polaris Democratic Party, a center-left party, having above 90% of the constituencies in Polaris. 370 seats in the Assembly of Representatives and 119 seats in the Senate belong to the PDP. The PDP is noted to have over 97.6% support throughout the Polarian Republic . The Party dates back to the 1942 Liberal Revolution in Polaris, overthrowing the nefarious, conservative regime of Kingfish. Since then, it has an average if 96.5% support from 1942 to 2011. The entire Executive Administrative Council fully dominates it as well. The City of Polaris, along with Aquarius, was also the only city in Antarctica to have a partisan legislature, until the Council's dissolution on July 24, 2011, after being supplanted by the current government. President of the EAC Kenny Kratz has been a life-long moderate PDP member, according to an interview with CBN News. The Party is headquartered in the Polaris Capitol District, in Hemisphere Square.

The Continental Union Party, a far-left socialist political party, represented by 1 seat in the Senate and 9 in the Assembly of Representatives. The party was formed as a break-off faction from the mainstream PDP, by far-lectures and socialized, who were frequently looked down upon in their own caucus. The CUP has three goals, which are to create a single-party socialist state, fair rights for all and the dissolution of all social classes. The members of the CUP total 432,353 registered voters. The CUP strongly supports the Polaris Health Act, the Welfare Act and the Care Bill, all passed by 99.5% in each house of the Legislative Congress.

Defense and Foreign Affairs

The responsibility of the defense of the Polarian Republic was relinquished by the United States of Antarctica in the PSADA itself. The SAD Amendment prohibited Polaris to raise its own military, as well. Being the dirty, corrupt tricksters they were, the Polarians found a brilliant loophole. They would get someone else to defend them!

So they did: following the relinquishment, the Defense and Protection Treaty, signed by Snowzerland, Castilla and the government of the Federal Republic of Polaris, ensures the defense of Polaris officially under the jurisdiction of the militaries of the two nations.
The Snoss and Castillan forces utilize six military bases spread over the coast and inland of the Polarian Republic . The headquarters of the stationed troops is on Colina Helvetica, a district bordering Ciudad Vieja, a 232.4 mile milutary base, containing a four-runway airbase, a 18-ship port and barracks for 185,500 troops. The Polarian Republic, in total, has 401,627 Snoss and Castillan troops, commanded by Snoss General Franz Stuttgart, and Castillan General Pepe De Los Santos. The correlation between the Polarian hosts and the Castillan and Snoss military is very close, and trade frequently with one another. The Coalition has 1275 naval fleet, 6,887 aircraft and 11,822 tanks, as well as 11,222 artilery tanks, all manned and under control of the two nations, rather than Polaris itself.
This is one of the few times that the two vicious rivals have ever agreed to cooperate.

The Polarian Republic, however, operates an independent, government-funded Polaris United Forces, comrpising of one hundred thousand police officers, and is based at the Polaris Police Headquarters and possesses 4,512 Enforcement Vehicles, 9,521 Force Cruisers, and 65 aircraft. The PDF is the largest police force in Antarctica, and is segregated into the Polaris City Police Services, the Snowville City Police Department, the Penguville Police Agency, the Enderby City Municipal Police and 32 other police factions. The PDF also operates a force that protects the Executive Council and the President as well.

The Polaris National Forces also attained 23 Snowkorsky- Ocean Prince helicopters, seating 59 each, in the unlikely event of an evacuation of the Polaris Harborfront Center. The Defense and Protection Treaty also states that "Castilla and Snowzerland may not interfere with the activities of the Polaris National Forces and it's divisions herein.".

Snoss and Castillan governments have donated significant amounts of vehicles and funds to the Polaris National Forces. The Polaris government also maintains the Polaris Intelligence Bureau Office, located at Connery Square Hall. The PIB is Polaris utilizes 1010 vehicles, 220 helicopters and 12 aircraft, based in and around the National. The PIB is in charge of storing and attaining classified information regarding every country in the Antarctic, hacking into computers and investigating certain cases. The Polarian Ministry of Defense administers both the PDF and PIB, since 2011.

Polaris has established congenial relations with every country in Antarctica, totaling 175 embassies in Polaris City alone. Polaris' main trading partners are Snowzerland, the USA, Castilla, Calada. Shops Island, and Freezeland, and all have established embassies within Polaris and consulates in around the capital. Polaris is also the headquarters of countless international, intergovernmental organizations, such as the Antarctic Economics Council, the Continental Defense Alliance, a branch of the United Antarctic Nations, and eleven other organizations.

The SAD of Polaris also retains relations with the USA, albeit very cold ones, as the USA has a Consulate-General in Polaris, Enderby City and Penguville. Polaris has also erected Polarian Trade and Commerce Offices in fifty sevem cities across the Antarctic, promoting trade and investment in Polarian companies. Polaris has 3,400 diplomats within the Continent, most of them are concentrated in the USA. The cities in which Polaris has established International Trade Offices are South Pole City, Metido, Googolplex, Zurich, Torona, Donging, Honk Gong, New Club Penguin City and Margate City all promote Polarian investment in foreign assets.

Geography

The Federal Republic of Polaris is spread over a multitude of landforms, in range from a vast, wide plain, to a a lush, subtropical mountain range on Santa Cruz Island, as well as the expanse of calm seas in the Two2 Annex. Polaris, the capital and namesake was built both on the shores of Eastshield, on the Polaris Barrier Islands, on Polaris Island, and the Wickcher Plains.

Polaris Island is incredibly flat in it's terrain, yet has a deep, strong foundation of bedrock to support tall, ambitious skyscrapers. Polaris Island is 45.5 square miles in size, and is home to 2.15 million residents. The Island was created by a rise in sea levels, which created many islands in Polaris today. The North and Sputh banks of the Polaris River are also flat, and secure the same bedrock mass as that of Polaris Island. The Polaris Barrier Islands, however, are mostly sand and seabed, as they were reformed barrier islands created in the 1940s.
The impressive amount of the bedrock allows Polarisns to reach new heights with supertall skyscrapers. Polaris, has no swamp-like areas, allowing safe commercial development. The Polarian Republic also contains a reasonable number of lakes, totalling to 237.These lakes are the main source of water and sanitation for all of the Polarian Republic , and provide hydroelectric power as well. The total amount of water in the Polarian Republic is 4.6% of the Total land area, exclusive of internal waterways. Snowville located to the north is partially built on a white limestone cliff, and is referred to as the Snowy Bluffs. Therefore, this divides the city into the Lower City and Upper City, interconnected by a steep railway and roads as well. Snowville's Lower City, has a total square area of 121 sq. miles, and is where the majority if the Snowvillian populace is concentrated. The Upper City is 54 feet straight upwards, as Snowville's Lower City is made up if a hill that slants towards the seaport. The cliff is usually inconspicuous, as it is barricaded by tall skyscrapers.

Thr Juno Islands, with it's southeast end located near Polaris are a chain of flat, sandy islands, totalling thirty-seven. They all possess an area of 121.4 sq. miles, and is home to 1.5 million residents. The Juno Islands were created by a rise in sea levels over 4 million years ago. Prior to the creation of the islands, there layed an isthumus-like peninsula, which was very mountainous in terrain. The rocks in the area were formed over 375 million years ago, and created a series of fold mountains. However, as the Antarctic plate was spliting, the mountains started to decrease in height, and over time became no more. Flash floods and rain permanently flooded the southeast parts of the islands, but a rise in sea levels allowed the manifestation of newer islands to the northwest. The Juno Islands have a stable bedrock foundation, and can support the weight of heavy skyscrapers and towers built in the cities of Solace and Mistral. The Juno Islands have deep-chanelled waterways, allowing large vessels to use the internal waterways as a shipping route.

These deep-channeled waterways were created by the valleys hat the mountains had created in the past. The Juno Islands are known to be one of the most beautiful islands throughout all of the Polarian Republic, and has a network of highways and tunnels connecting Polaris to Puerto Elanor. Alternately, travelling to across the ocean in the Two2 Annex makes for a scenic boating adventure.

Economy

The Economy of the Polarian Republic is the largest and most expansive in all of mainland Antarctica. Polaris City also possesses the third-largest city economy in the continent, only to be surpassed by Club Penguin and South Pole City. In Polaris, the currency of is the Polarian Dollar, pegged at a one-for-one ratio to the incumbent Antarctic currency of the Fish.

The largest industry in Polaris is the the Finance, Banking, and Investment Industries as the city of Polaris, Snowville, Enderby City and Penguville hang on the balance of the industry. No one actually banks on Polaris, though, because white collar crime would result in immediate depletion of any account. Banks maintain their unofficial headquarters in Polaris because of its pro-white collar crime climate and its immense bank secrecy; bigshot bankers live in Polaris because the corrupt city protects them from prosecution when they commit crimes.
This banker-friendly climate has attracted tens upon tens of billions of investment to Polaris, leading to excellent growth and prosperity.

Actually banking in Polarian banks is discouraged, because the decriminization of white collar crime allows for corrupt individuals and bankers with the right "connections" to loot bank accounts, perform insider trading, or other abusive practices that can clean out an account overnight. The amount of assets kept in branches within the Polarian Republic is 311.4 billion Polarian Dollars, with only one hundred thousand being locked away in the National Bank of Polaris.

The mining and manufacturing sector within the Federal Republic of Polaris has skyrocketed to compromise of 21% of the entirety of Polarian GDP. The mining sectors includes the vast Polarian oil reserves, the mining of gold, copper, iron and other precious minerals in several states, particularly southern New Westshield, Enderby, Snowville, Penguville and Barrett. In the manufacturing sector, a projection of an average of 100,000 manufacturing jobs are created per quarter, one of the highest in the continent. Many industries include foodstuffs, transportation (locomotives, automobiles, aircraft, military vehicles), steel, household items, electronics and plastics are made through the manufacturing sector of the Polarian economy. This sector is active throughout the coastline, particularly in New Westshield, Hampton, Enderby, Snowville and Penguville.

Polaris also has the second-largest trading seaport in all of Antarctica, surpassed exclusively by the port of Club Penguin. The port has 230 piers, and is spread over 23.5 sq. miles of coastline. Over 450 ships dock at the Port of Polaris each day, and havr a daily net value of 1.21 billion each day, totalling to over 400 billion in goods each day. The main trading partners with Polaris in the seaport are Castilla, the USA, Snowzerland, Calada and Freezeland. The Port is known to be the largest in freight tonnage each year, wih 1,121 million tons of freight processed and distributed through the port. The two main commodities distrubuted through the port are agricultural products, such as crops and fertilezer. The other being mechanical parts such as aircraft, automobiles and construction vehicles. The Port is governed by the Polarian Ministry of Trade and Commerce, with a subordinate directorate of the Polaris Port Authority. (These are rumored to be owned by organized crime, who use the lack of corruption laws to their advantage, charing gouging fees to use "their" ports.) The Port is such a vital asset to Polaris' economy and doles 341.5 billion Polarian Dollars into the economy. Multitudes of cruise and passenger lines also operate through the port, including Seasons Cruise Lines, PolarFerry, IslandWay Cruises and MetroConnect Ferries. These ferries connect Polarian commuters from either side of Polaris City to Polaris Island.

The total Gross Domestic Product of the Polarian Republic is 8.43 trillion Polarian Dollars. Polaris City alone generates 2.1 trillion of the 6.08 trillion Polarian Dollars. According to the Jones' Holiness Index, Polaris enjoys a high credit rating of BBB.Despite maintaining the incredible rankings of 97.5% stability and 2.5% negativity, the rating is low because of the nation's deficit spending. If Polaris ever fails to keep increasing its GDP by quarter, the bubble will pop and the SAD would fall to ruin. Fortunately, this isn't expected to happen for decades, because the climate is so favorable to business and corruption, enabling exponential growth, despite being immoral and/or illegal elsewhere. Eeconomic analysts concur that Polaris' GDP is set to increase by 5.7% over the next three years from 2011-2014, and should continue at an upward rate every year until roughly 2045.

However, conservative analyst Greg Nefario states that Polaris could see a brutal increase in interest rates and inflation rather than the GDP increasing over the next three years. The Polarian Republic still owes immense debt to untold dozens of parties, and with no interest in balancing this budget, one can only hope that Polaris' constant GDP will keep their deficit spending in the black.

Healthcare

The Healthcare of the Federal Republic of Polaris is administered by the federal court-appointed HOLINESS bureau, a result of the the USA v. Polaris trails in November of 2010, in which Polaris lost. Healthcare in the Polarian Republic is free to everything that breathes within the limits of the SAD. The HOLINESS was designated to keep a watch over the City of Polaris' City Health Act, which gave 2,600 Fish in health coverage to each penguin and puffle in Polaris. Prior to the HOLINESS, the facilities were wraught with corruption, with paramedics even checking wallets after taking paitients into ambulances.

Polaris also permits several private practices and hospitals, also under regulation by the HOLINESS, which can be used for specialty treatment or as an alternative means of recieving better care. A tarrif of 2.5% is placed on each private health care facility.

There are a total of five hundred private clinics and practices in the FR Polaris, and nine private hospitals, with two of them being in Polaris City. Private clinics are growing in number, in both doctors and patients alike. 18.5% of all Polarians use this type of practice, with this expected to Dentistry in the FR Polaris remains wholly private and is not covered by any government subsidy, because penguins don't have teeth. The dental market mainly goes to puffles. The pharmaceuticals industry also pumps 900 million Polarian dollars into the econony, with Polarian manufacturers of drugs and the bulk sale of drugs to governments.

Education

Education in the FR Polaris is one of the highest-rated in Antarctica, and is governed jointly by the Polarian Ministry of Education and the federal court appointed-BORNE. Despite the efforts of the BORNE, education remains extremely corrupt, biased, and wrought with indoctrination to ensure new genrerations of Polarians to continue the morally ambigious corruptuion of the realm.

Education in Polaris begins in Pre-Kindergarten, a non-compulsory year of pre-school which usually requires an extra fee in public schools. Kindergarten lasts two years, being Junior and Senior Kindergarten. Usually, Kindergarten classes are held at Primary Schools, which plays host to chicks in Pre-Kindergarten and official Kindergarten. Grades 1-8 are held in an elementary school, which is also compulsory under Polarian educational law. Secondary school commences at Grade 9 and ends at Grade 12. Grade 13 is an optional year of high-school, and can be a replacement for a first-year of college.

Starting in 1st Grade, there are two types of public schools, Advanced Public Schools and Regular-Program Schools. Advanced Public Schools are given at an extra charge of $50 per month, per student. These public schools work at a much more advanced level, usually at two grades above the Regular-program curriculum equivalent. This program's enrollment is further increasing, with encouragement from the Polarian government. Private schooling is also another option, especially international schools. International schools operate in Polaris, as do many privatized schools. These schools are an alternative option to Advanced Public Schools, let alone public schools. In Polaris alone, there are fifty five public school boards, funded by a 8.6 billion Polarian Dollar budget per annum. (Most of that goes to seven-digit, gold-plated salaries by the boardmen.) The largest public school board is the Polaris City Unified School Board, with 775 elementary schools, 455 secondary schools, 376 Primary schools, and numerous other private schools.

Despite their quality, schools are heavilly criticized as being indoctrination centers over true halls of learning.

As for tertiary schooling, as much as 56,000 students attend the University every year, namely Law and Political Science, the University's specialties. It is inevitably located in Polaris City, in a 8.5 sq. mile University District, exclusive to the Polaris University. Another notable university in FR Polaris is Reginald Enderby University, located in Enderby City. There are 56 other universities in the Polarian Republic , concentrated around Polaris. Colleges are also present in the FR Polaris, however, colleges are dropping in attendance and enrollment, as more penguins, according to a survey are aiming for university.

Culture

Sports

Sports in the FR Polaris are somewhat popular, notably basketball, hockey and football.Sports have never really intergrated into Polarian culture like that of the USA. Sports were only brought to the Polarian Republic by influence of the USA. Polaris posseses seventeen major sports teams, most of them being in Polaris City and Enderby City. However, there are no Polaris-exclusive sports leagues. Polaris is also the host of several international sporting events, including the 1999 International Track Championships, the 2002 Winter Antarctic Olympics, the 2005 Continental Games, and the 2007 USA National Games. Polaris is also the home of several famous athletes, many of whom won several gold medals.

Nevertheless, sports fan numbers are significantly declining. This may be a result of economic increase in Polaris, andemguins focusing less on leisure and more on their jobs. In baseball alone, Regular attendance of Polaris Metros jumped from 54,000 to 21,000, over a 50% decrease. The Polaris Pines, have increased in attendance, having a 45% increase. Polaris also maintains 56 stadiums, the principal stadium able to hold 110,000 penguins.

Music

Many Polarians are interested in pop, and western music. Some artist have even written songs that are both pop AND western, but most of them just sound weird. The Penguin Band is a popular band in Polaris, because they write both western and pop. They have sold most of their albums in Polaris.

Media

Polarians are avid users of televisions, radio and the Internet, and has one of the highest internet bandwidths, at 2,200 KBpbs, making it eight times faster than the Antarctic internet connection speeds. This high bandwidth is a result of major investment by the Polarian government in the Internet and computer technology since 1976. Based on a 2010 survey, 97.5% of Polarians above 10 use the internet more than twice weekly, and is ranked the "Most Connected Country In Antarctica" in the May 2011 issue of Clack!, a popular Club Penguin computer magazine.

Polaris is served by nine major networks, CBN (Continental Broadcasting Network), PolarVision, PBC (Polarian Broadcasting Corporation), ArcticTV, PenguinTV and Antarctic24. These nine major networks generate a television audience of over four million five hundred thousand viewers per week. Polaris is the headquarters of several news agencies as well, including CBN News Network, PolarNews, PBC News, and Arctic News Network.

Newspapers and magazines are also read daily by many Polarians, including PolarWeekly, Juicy!, Continentalweek, The Globe, and Peppermint. These magazines each have a readership approximately 2 million, and are all published in Polaris. Newspapers in Polaris include the Snowville Shopper, the Enderby Enquirer, the Polaris National, Polaris Daily, the Penguville Democrat, the Polaris Star Journal and the Polaris Advent.

All of the news companies are severely biased and only report liberal views, smearing and demonizing the opposition to keep the populace happy with their bread and circuses.

Transportation

Road

Road travel within Polaris is managed by the Ministry of Transportation, as with all transportation means within the Polarian Republic . There are currently 13800 miles of highway within Polaris. The City of Polaris currently has the most freeways and expressways totaling to about 12. The main arterial highway in Polaris is the PH 5, or Polarian Highway Five, and travels 2,100 miles from Ciudad Vieja to the outskirts of Enderby City. Highways in Polaris are the third-most popular means of transportation in Polaris, only to be passed by rail and air travel. Municipal roads and parkways are managed by the cities and municipalities themselves. Inter-city bus travel within Polaris is also prominent, with two major bus companies, EagleBus and ZoomWays being the top competitors within the industry. Polarian law also requires highways to be resurfaced every eight to twelve years.Polaris uses it's former Antarctic highways as it's main route for PH 5. Currently, there are 21 PH Highways in the Polarian Republic , numbers from --21. The number of these highways is set to increase.

Air

One of the more widely-used transportation systems within Polaris is air travel. Inter-city air travel between Enderby City, Polaris City, Penguville, and Snowville are the known as the most active route, and are given the moniker: "The Quad-Coast Route". Air travel within Polaris is acclaimed to be inexpensive, with the subsidization of Polarian-based CP Airways, Air Antarctic and SkyJet Airways. The subsidization if these companies slash the price of Polarian air fares by 55%. Polaris City also employs Polaris Helicopter Airways, joint-venture of the Government of Polaris and SkyJet Airways, and offers helicopter services, which are usually 6.75 Polarian Dollars per ride, provide post-haste service from the suburbs to many if Polaris' helipads. The main international gateway to Polaris is Polaris-City International Airport, located in the Polaris Barrier Islands. Other airports such as Snowville Regional Airport, Penguville Regional Airport and Enderby City International Airport also have domestic and international operations within their facilities. All airports within the Polarian Republic are managed by the Ministry of Transportation's Polaris Airports Authority.

Sea

Polaris is highly remarked for it's expansive sea port, as it is located in a prime area, and is used as a transit point between South Pole City and the ports of the Ninja Archipelago, Calada, and to Club Penguin. The Port of Polaris City alone is the largest port in Antarctica in terms of containerization, handling 21.2 million PEUs in 2010. The Port of Polaris is divided into five divisions, the Port of Polaris City, the Port of Penguville, Enderby City Marine Terminal, The Port of Puerto Elanor and the Port of Snowville. The largest of the ports is the Port of Polaris City, with Penguville, Snowville and Enderby City following suit. The Port of Polaris handles approximately one-third of all Antarctic oil shipments, due to the large, vast oil reserve abreast to Puerto Elanor, almost one-fourth of all container shipments within the continent. The Ports, respectively are for economic reasons, as Polaris does not lack any natural resources, none needs to be shipped into the Polarian Republic . Passenger travel only accounts for 3.3% of all Polarian marine traffic, and are used by commuters. Cruise ships are also based in and around Polaris as well.
