The Puffle Berry Mall is an newly built outlet center located in the Plaza section of the Club Penguin island. It was built in June 2015. Originally, the Stage was intended to be renovated but an incident happened that caused the building to collapse. Keeper of the Stage was shocked but later his advisors came up with a new plan; to create a mall as a replacement for the Stage.

The mall, not long after it was built, received very high controversy. Many criticized the fact that the mall was named the "Puffle Berry Mall", after puffles, but Keeper of the Stage stated he named it that because he was proud of being a puffle. However, the idea for a mall itself was criticized; many believed the mall will soon serve as a replacement for the Gift Shop and many Gift Shop fans were afraid of the shop being replaced; many also believed there was no need for a mall and that the stage could have been easily rebuilt, possibly made even better.

Despite all the controversy, the mall has attracted many positive reviews too. Many penguins on the island believed that the island was dull without a mall where penguins from the entire island, if not, entire Antarctica can meet to interact and shop.

History[edit]

In middle May 2015, Keeper of the Stage noticed the Stage was getting more dirty and dusty and he felt it must be renovated; the Stage itself was one of the last rooms on Club Penguin that was not yet renovated. So he and his advisors and many other construction workers from around the island came up with plans to renovate the Stage. Most residents of Club Penguin Island, especially those opposed to all the renovations done on the island, believed the Stage just needs to be cleaned, not renovated; the Club Penguin authorities refused to listen to the skeptics.

On May 28, a construction worker was trying to place a brick on the building as part of the construction, but he did not manage to do so, the brick fell off the building, and hit another construction worker who fell down on the ground. The construction worker who tried to put the brick also fell, and the building collapsed in a matter of seconds. The doctors quickly arrived to take the workers to a hospital. This incident left Keeper of the Stage shocked. Now that the stage was demolished, something had to be done about this. His closest advisors came up with the idea of creating a mall; and so on May 30, new constructions started on a mall.

Not long after the news of the construction arrived in the local newspaper did it attract thousands of protestors; even more than it got during the time a stage renovation was announced. The Club Penguin authorities slammed the protestors and stated how a mall for Club Penguin is a pretty good idea; to which a small amount of the Club Penguin population agreed; according to a poll on June 1, only 12% of the Club Penguin population was in favour of a mall while 88% were against.

On June 6, the mall was officially finished and many stated it is too sophisticated; however, a new survey on June 13 asking penguins their opinions on every room on the island showed that 17% of the Club Penguin population likes the mall while 83% dislikes; the lowest ranked for any room on Club Penguin.

Despite all the controversy, the Mall saw a quite success. Thousands of shoppers come every day from all over Antarctica. The Mall sees a lot of controversy but also a lot of support, to this day.

Shops[edit]

The mall has two floors with both having around 8 stores, totaling 17 shops in the entire mall. There are 3 food shops, one selling sushi and other kinds of fish, one selling burgers, salads, burritos and tacos and one selling pizzas and pancakes. There are 911 clothes shops, out of which 3 are specifically designed for chicks, 1 shop which sells toys, 1 shop that sells furniture and 1 shop that sells costumes. There is also a cinema there, which rumors has it, replaced the Stage.

Controversy[edit]

Ever since the construction started, the mall received a lot of criticism. Many criticized the fact that the mall was named the "Puffle BerryMall", after puffles, but Keeper of the Stage stated he named it that because he had a lot of "puffle pride" and because he likes o'berries. However, the idea for a mall itself was criticized; many believed the mall will soon serve as a replacement for the Gift Shop and many Gift Shop fans were afraid of the shop being replaced; many also believed there was no need for a mall and that the stage could have been easily rebuilt, possibly made even better.

However, there have been many positive feelings about the mall too; many penguins always thought that Club Penguin needed a place for everyone to gather.
