The Raccoon Puffle (Moschomicrotherium defamatus procyon, literally "funny little beast unholy raccoon") sometimes called the "Coon Puffle" is a recently rediscovered species of Puffle, and a member of the M. defanatus species group under the Puffle genus. Coon Puffles are intelligent, highly moralistic, and fiercely conservative creatures known for their humility, servitude and, most of all, their mischief.

Background[edit]
Like the Dog Puffles and Cat Puffles Raccoon Puffles have properly been identified as products of Geneticorp. They were some of the first test subjects and several of them managed to escape the facility into the wild. While the public didn't know where they came from when they were first discovered the link to Geneticorp was easily found. Geneticorp accepts full responsibility for releasing them but as the Racoon puffles have not caused much damage the controversy only lies in genetic tampering in general.
Because of their escape and the fact that several have sentient intelligence, geneticorp has released the patent for creating Raccoon Puffles into the public domain.
Range, Habitat, and location[edit]
Habitat destruction is the primary bane of the Raccoon Puffle's existence. During the Khanzem era, all Raccoon Puffles were relocated from their natural homes to Club Penguin Island. Their numbers are growing, but it will be many years before they ever again reach abundance.
Coon Puffles are found in Club Penguin's northwestern Wilderness, in the dense taiga of the Wild Woods, where the towering trees grow so densely that the sunlight is often obscured, even at midday. With special gear and clearence from EBUL, penguins can explore these uncharted lands in search of wild puffles. They are a protected species overseen by Puffle Handler and environmental agencies chartered by or working in spite of EBUL.
The original habitat of the Coon Puffle, however, is deep in the rural Antarctic mainland. They are native to Uno Valley and the surrounding wildnerness, and were seen most often in It Is Well Pass, where they lived alongside mountaineer penguins and dangerous enemies that make it difficult to traverse the paths.
Behavior[edit]
Above all else, Coon Puffles are most famous for being mischievious and are well respected in comedy clubs for their excellent sense of humor. Some are even pranksters, known for tricking and humoring travellers and heroes alike.
Coon Puffles live in tight-knit family units and mate for life. They are extremely protective of their young and will defend their dens with great force. Wild Coon Puffles are sacrificially generous in providing for their young and are, above all else, child rearing creatures.
Civilization[edit]
Coon Puffles vary in intelligence, ranging from traditional wild puffle behavior and pet domestication to outright speaking, Free Puffle status complete with tribal organization and huts. Civilized Coon Puffles made contact with Mattress Village and surrounding areas for years, and even aided The Chosen Ones in their travels through It Is Well Pass.
Shortly after they escaped the Geneticorp facilities, intelligent Coon Puffles congregated in forests under a tribal banner, with clearly defined leaders and specialized jobs. Similar to their wild counterparts, intelligent Coon Puffles are extremely protective of their young and defensive of their homes and families. They mate for life.
Most likely due to their contact with Mattress Village, civilized Raccoon Puffles developed conservative, moralistic views on life, work, conduct, and luxuries. They are known to attack Cream Soda containers and do not hesitate to speak their minds on perceived vices.
Care as Pets and Diet[edit]
Coon Puffles are docile, servile, and eager to please their masters. They make excellent, family friendly pets and are quite capable of performing basic tasks. They clean themselves by rolling around in water and like to sit near sources of heat to dry off. Intelligent Coon Puffles also make excellent pets, because they see their chains as humble obligations towards servitude, and, consequently, some wealthy penguins have adopted civilized Coon Puffles as personal servants.
Coon Puffles, regardless of intelligence, will eat anything placed before them, and will eat anything they can reach. Consequently, owners of Coon Puffles (especially intelligent ones) must not reveal where they toss out their garbage and cannot display any trash cans, because Coon Puffles will immediately jump in them as they simultaneously eat and scatter garbage and refuse all over the place.
Coon Puffles eat Puffle O's, garbage, leaves, insects, meat, vegetables, bread, candy, paper, and most anything small enough to fit in their mouths. They have remarkable digestive abilities and are not harmed by consuming even the strangest of material.
