Wars took place in many places around Antarctica, including in Penland, and the situation was nowhere near better back home. In Snowiny, outside Penland, thousands of strikes occurred, protests, and hunger and thirst was at its ever highest. The deeper into the war, the Snowinian economic growth is also getting lower, even though it is still growing.

Hunger on the Home Front[edit]
Food shortages were widespread especially in south Snowiny without Penland and west Snowiny. The population of Eastern and Northern Snowiny were generally more fed, but food shortages still happened at few times. In the south of Snowiny, there was already a large scale food shortage in which no less than 471 penguins died of starvation, and it took place during the most from late March to around April 30th.
Pro Socialist marches - Riots in the West and South - Peaceful protests in north[edit]
There were many protests during the Antarctic War on Terrorism in Snowiny, including riots too. Riots occurred all over West Snowiny. Buildings were destroyed and people were burned. Arson attacks targeting buildings was pretty common. There were also citizens who committed crime, such as breaking in a home, restaurant or grocery store, just to get food and feed themselves.
In the north, peaceful protests were common, including signs saying things like "Why do you warmonger when you can't feed your own country?" and "Decrease military spending! Lower taxes!" and "Stop Killing Us!". The protests were going on for over a month and a half.
A pro-socialist march took place on May 1st, with over 204,031 penguins attending the rally, which is a VERY large part of the mainland Snowinian population. This also became the largest ever rally / march ever held in Antarctic history. Tens of thousands of penguins waved red flags, banners, signs and marched together in unity against corruption, war and hunger. The popularity of the socialist party increased heavily for the parliamentary elections to happen May 24th (the run ups are ongoing right now).
