The Snowinian January 2014 Depression was an economic crisis that happend in Snowiny right after the loss of Ed Island in the First Snowinian Civil War. The economic crisis lasted for almost two months. Snowiny's economy feel drastically during this event. At the near end of the depression, Robert Smith was demoted to vice president in the Snowinian government, and Peter Branzovski won the elections to become the next president. Peter Branzovski has already been a Snowinian president once and therefore is supposed to have much more skill then Robert Smith, because Robert Smith only entered the office in July 2013. After the presidental elections, Peter Branzovski helped pull Snowiny's economy back up a bit and Snowiny's depression ended.

- The depression started on January 15th, 2014 and ended March 11th, 2014.
- During the depression, many penguins lost they're jobs (over 40,000 to be exact, which is quite many, considering how small the Snowinian population is).
