History[edit]
Icey Animation Studios had finished working on the first episode, "Welcome to Snowy Falls" in March 2013 and showed a sneak peak at the SPPC 2013. On November 8, 2013, Alex Pengh uploaded the short he had made to pitch the series, "Decisions, Decisions", to WaddleTube. On November 9, 2013, Pengertainment Weekly posted an article saying that Snowy Falls was going to premiere December 13, 2013, at 8:00PM followed by the short used to pitch the show, plus the theme song. The theme song rose controversy, based on most of it, especially a page in Journal #3 of a crab with a top hat and a bowtie with character's symbols around it. Another day later, Icey Channel showed five commercials during separate commercial breaks, a short called "Beast in the Bathroom" separated into Hours 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Starting December 5th, the show was widely promoted in commercials. Three clips, one of which being the sneak peak from SPPC 2013, were shown during the breaks. According to Alex Pengh, he had gotten permission to slide back the premiere night for Puffle That Can Shuffle, Messie, and Duck Luck Sharley's new episodes originally on Friday two days back so that Snowy Falls could have a premiere night to itself. Thus, when the new episode for Puffle That Can Shuffle started, a 48-hour countdown clock appeared on the screen with a snowy forest still in the top right hand corner of the screen. When the countdown clock hit 24 hours a day later, it switched to a Mystery Igloo still. A promo was released earlier the premiere day that told the viewers that other cartoons will play following it, in the following schedule:
- 6:00PM PST: Wrendy and Mr. Wackadoo
- 6:30PM PST: Squid Hooks
- 7:00PM PST: Tim Possible (for one-hour)
- 8:00PM PST: Snowy Falls premiere
The first episode gained 3.3 million viewers at its premiere date. On June 12, 2014, the series was renewed for a second season of 20 episodes. It was announced on August 20, 2014.
On September 4, 2014, one day prior to the premiere of "Klutz Cipher: Mind Demon", a poster was released (as a .gif online) that showed a giant Daniel in front of the Mystery Igloo, promoting "Klutz Cipher" and the second part premiering on October 3, 2014, titled "Danielland".On December 18, 2014, the first two episodes of Season 2, alongside their summaries, were revealed, and the following day Alex Pengh said that both episodes would play on Icey XD first in February 2015 and Icey Channel the following month. The following days, one of the people working on the show posted a couple of interesting facts about Season 2 in response to multiple questions she got, such as:
- "We did a couple holiday episodes in the upcoming season, such as a Valentine's Day episode and a Christmas episode."
- "A couple of voice-penguins from Ponder the Galaxy are helping out with one episode. Just sending that out in case you hear Ponder's voice in one episode. ;)"
- "I believe the first two episodes are airing after a marathon? At least that's what Icey is planning to do. If it's not a marathon, all I know is that there will be some kind of promotion going on for the premiere."
On December 23, 2014, Season 2 was confirmed to premiere on Friday the 13th, similar to the first season, for both networks. This means that Season 2 will premiere on Icey XD on February 13, 2015, and Icey Channel on March 13, 2015. The same day, Alex Pengh said both premiere nights will be back-to-back.
A clip of the first part of the season premiere was put up on PengTube on January 20, 2015. Alex Pengh had embed it on his blog with the following text: "*Klutz Cipher voice* Teasing...so much teasing in the air! ΔΔΔ"
Icey XD's February lineup was released on January 24, 2015. A marathon for the show aired on Icey XD on February 13, 2015 from 10:00AM PST to 8:00PM with the entire first season (including a rerun of the "Summerwalrus" short that aired unannounced in December). From 8:00PM to 9:00PM, they aired the two-part season premiere "Water Puffle". Production for the second season finished on February 17, 2015, with a total of 22 episodes to air over the course of 2015. There are currently no plans for a third season.

Plot[edit]
Season 1[edit]
Season 1 has a major story arc, mostly revolving around Daniel Gleeless, and his attempts to get the Mystery Igloo.
Characters[edit]
Main[edit]
- Jake Palms, the 12-year-old twin brother of Cora Palms. Intelligent, he is armed with the journal marked "3" he found in the woods which helps him with each mystery of the day.
- Cora Palms, the 12-year-old twin sister of Jake Palms. Cora is an eccentric, buoyant and energetic optimist, who expresses herself through an assortment of extremely colorful knitted sweaters as well as skill at various arts and crafts.
- Johnford "Grunkle John" Palms, the great uncle of Jake and Cora Palms. He runs and lives in The Mystery Igloo, a tourist trap which is billed as "the world's most bizarre museum." In season two it's revealed that his name is actually Johnson Palms and Johnford is his twin brother who was lost in another dimension.
- Deuce, the handyman at the Mystery Igloo. A friend of Jake and Cora, Deuce is a portly, hamster-like, lovable man-child who desires to be where the action is.
- Lisa Corduroy, a mellow, tomboyish, "cool" 15-year-old penguin who is a part-time employee at The Mystery Igloo. She is Jake's crush, and several episodes focus on his misguided attempts to impress her.
- Ford Palms- the twin Brother of Grunkle John who was trapped in another dimension thirty years before the show started. He is introduced in season 2 and has a grudge against Grunkle John because he was responsible for getting him lost in the portal.
Reccuring[edit]
- Waddles, Cora's pet pig. It is shown that Waddles enjoys spending time with Cora just as much as she enjoys spending time with him.
- McBucket, the "local kook" of Snowy Falls. Despite his apparent insanity and stereotypical hillbilly demeanor, McBucket is a technical mastermind, capable of creating massive, complex animatronics (such as a robotic sea monster or a homicidal robot dinosaur).
Antagonists[edit]
- Klutz Cipher, a powerful demon that can be summoned and released into a person's mind. He is a one-eyed, yellow crab with a top hat and a bow tie.
- Daniel Gleeless, a young boy who owns the "Igloo of Telepathy," a successful competitor of the Mystery Igloo. He has a deep rivalry with Grunkle John that presumably started long before the twins arrived.
- Antarcticifa Southpole, the most popular girl in Snowy Falls. She comes from a wealthy family, being the great-great-granddaughter of the supposed founder of Snowy Falls, Nathaniel Southpole.
Acclamation/Ratings[edit]
The premiere involved a total of 3.3 million viewers. Aunt Arctic of Club Penguin Times referred to it as "a nice cartoon that appears to be able to catch many elements, such as the action, the twists, the heart-warming moments, and the jokes" and gave it an 8.5/10.
Marketing[edit]
Commercials for Snowy Falls play at a regular rate on Icey Channel and Icey XD.
Snowy Falls: This DVD is Sponsored by the Mystery Igloo[edit]
Snowy Falls: This DVD is Sponsored by the Mystery Igloo is a DVD created for the promotion of the series Snowy Falls. The DVD contains:

- Detective Cora (Episode 3)
- Lil' Daniel (Episode 4)
- All Boxed Up (Episode 5)
This DVD was released on September 18, 2014, on Icey DVD. Alex Pengh has hinted at the easter eggs in the DVD, and said that this will be the first volume of four DVDs for Season 1.
There are many easter eggs found on the main menu:
- One button on the menu makes everything float into the air via Daniel's amulet ("Lil' Daniel") for a couple of seconds.
- One button on the menu makes Robert ("Welcome to Snowy Falls") stumble by for a second.
- One button on the menu makes the screen cut to a John bobble head ("Welcome to Snowy Falls") which bobbles for a second.
- One button on the menu makes the screen cut to an owl clock ("Welcome to Snowy Falls") which goes off for a second.
Oddly, Waddles is also on the main menu, despite not appearing in any of the episodes in the DVD, not being introduced in the series at all at the time.
Trivia[edit]
- It is a parody of Gravity Falls.
- It apparently premieres, not by coincidence, on Friday the 13th.
- Pengertainment Weekly made an article on the upcoming show that included the theme song. It was also mentioned the first episode came out on iceTunes for free on December 6, in advance of the premiere.
- Starting December 11, 2013 at 8:00PM PST (during a new Puffle That Can Shuffle), a 48-hour countdown clock appeared in the top right hand corner of the screen. It hit 24 hours December 12, 2013 at 8:00PM PST.
- According to Alex Pengh, he plans for the series to last 2 seasons and a movie.
- Season 1 ends in a 2-part episode, which will be continued in the Season 2 premiere.
