With so many different unlockables, Super Smash Mates for Snowtendo 3DS and Vii N rarely runs out of stuff to do.
Characters[edit]
3DS[edit]
- Nat De Maple - Play 10 matches/Clear Classic on any intensity
- Plasma Bot - Play 20 matches/Clear Classic on any intensity without using any continues
- Hero - Play 30 matches/Complete 100-Mate Smash
- Kwikmin & Lois - Play 40 matches/Clear Classic as Kwiksilver on any intensity without using any continues
- Ninja O'Dark - Play 50 matches/Clear Classic with three or more characters on any intensity
- Cycler - Play 60 matches/Clear Classic as Heavy Smasher at intensity 4.0 or higher
- Wally - Play 70 matches/Collect 200 trophies
- Human - Play 80 matches/Clear Classic as Star or Person at intensity 5.0 or higher
- Pencilsmith - Play 90 matches/Clear Classic with 10 characters on any intensity
- Isaac Juggernaut - Play 100 matches/Clear Classic as Joseph at intensity 6.0 or higher
- General Sharpener - Play 110 matches/Clear Classic with 8 characters on any intensity
- Captain B - Play 120 matches/Collect at least 30 different equipment items
Vii N[edit]
In the Vii N version, Nat, Human, Isaac and Hero are all starter characters.

- Hatpop - Buy both versions of the game.

3DS[edit]
- Rockhopper Island: Fight 3 matches in the Migrator.
- Mega Whale: Unlock Captain B.
- Fire Volcano: Unlock Ninja O'Dark.
- Puffle Wild: Play as all Puffle Characters (Fuzzle, Snow and Kwikmin & Lois).
- Operation: Blackout: Use Richperson's Final Smash.
- Pufflescape: Use Snow's final smash 5 times.
- Puffle Rescue: Win as all Puffle Characters (Fuzzle, Snow and Kwikmin & Lois).
Vii N[edit]
- Horrible Nightmare: Win 3 matches as Mr Cow2.
- Kwikmin Island: Unlock Kwikmin & Lois.
- Tutupie City: View any version of Fool's Chat.
- PuffleVille: Play an 8-player Smash for the first time.
- Couch: Unlock all of the Four Unknown (Wally, Pencilsmith, General Sharpener, Captain B)
- 1337 4r3n4: Play Mates' Dash.
- Dragan Island: Win 3 matches as Carl Johnson.
