Well, someone read it. I can't be greedy and expect more. :P -- TurtleShroom™! Jesus Loves You and Died for You!!  :)  :) Oh biscuits. HI AL GORE! ――–――――― 01:45, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

As a story, great. As for representing Capitalist views, no.
Ok, so it's a joke on the Capitalist supporter stereotype and I can forgive that.
Just want to ask something; I am a One nation tory/Tory Reformer but I share views with the Classical liberal Freedom Association. Just wanted to know where I fit in in these 'huts'.
Oh and I support Keynesian economics. Yeah.--Agent Johnson |  Political correctness can go right... 18:31, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Though I am a liberal, I absolutely dispise social liberalism or social democracy. State-run corporations don't run as well as the private ones.I also support capitalism as well.-- Sanchonachos OBAMA 2012 LIBERALS! LIBERALS! 18:34, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Not sure if this is right but you'd be a Canadian Red Tory or a One nation like me.--Agent Johnson |  Political correctness can go right... 18:37, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

I don't know. I'm a Liberal-Conservative? But, seriously, I'm a moderate. I adopt a lot of liberal values and some conservative values too.-- Sanchonachos OBAMA 2012 LIBERALS! LIBERALS! 18:59, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Explaining the joke[edit]

This tale does not represent modern capitalism. It represents dawn of the twentieth century (1900s) capitalism: that's Laissez-faire capitalism.

I myself support Capitalism but believe that small amounts of socialism must be sprinkled at the bottom to prevent old people and innocents from dying: a social safety net. While the Invisible Hand can guide the market itself normally, there must be funds to hand off to elders, funds to hand to the sick, and funds to hand with discernment to the poor who are not moochers.

In the story, TurtleShroom was trying to enter Das Kapibbles' party, but Kapibbles only lets in truly hard-core capitalists. Ones without any care. I speak of pure, raw, Laissez-faire capitalism, which was famouns at the turn of the twentieth century with child labor, no safety features, and badly built buildings that caught on fire. "Laissez-faire" literally means "leave it alone", and it is the doctrine that the government should completely abstain from interfering with the market and the economy in all shapes, forms, and fashions. The private sector should regulate or lax itself as it pleases. It died in the Great Depression when the economy collapsed and "proved", as the 193s media put it, that Laissez-faire capitalism was not feasible in a country the size of the United States.

TS is actually very capitalist in most modern circles, but on the scale of laissez-faire, he's a weenie! THAT, my friends, is the joke.

As for Social Democrats, they are suprisingly moderate for something that Marxists consider one of them. The tenants of their doctrine are that the capitalist system is not broken and can be fixed by creating the welfare state. Social Democracts believe that socialism will come gradually by the welfare state and will gently take capitalism in a bloodless, harmless, and productive transition, over the course of, say, a hundred years of the practice. Private enterprise and the government would not clash. Social Democrats do not support the idea of a commie rebellion, where the worker just throws out the government and enters into a dictatorship. They want the existing government to slowly go red, in more ways then one. By creating and bolstering the welfare state, Social Democrats belive that everything will just slowly fall into place. They are NEVER to be confused with democratic socialism.

IMO, TS is really kind of a weenie character cause he doesn't fight stuff. Only characters who fight stuff are cool. Nah, just kidding. I read the story and liked it. Especially the parts with Bow Tie Tom and how it was Free Something Thursday. Those parts were good. Overall I liked it. But it could of used some action. --Austin8310 23:23, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
